Morning ladies!

@TheOrangeMonster welcome! So sorry to hear you've been trying so long, I honestly think ttc is the hardest thing I have ever done and nobody prepares you for it! People who conceive quickly flash it around like its some sort of badge of honour with no clue as to how hard it is for some (actually I think most, if people were honest!) of us!

@AnxiousAnnie86 🤞🏼 you don't get too many flashings this month, so close!

@Chlo2701 you should be fine if you got peak this morning, depending on the OPK and the level I think it generally means you have 24-48hrs before you ov, and for you and @Mamainmaking1 I read that successful conception is actually most likely the day before ov. Like @AnxiousAnnie86 says, it's better for the sperm to be ready and waiting!

@Blossom428 so glad your temp is still up!

13DPO here and AF stayed away all day yesterday. Was fully expecting temp to drop this morning but it actually went up 😬😃. I've felt this really odd urge to test for the last 24hrs but I'm scared my mind is playing tricks on me as I haven't really got any specific symptoms, I actually feel just perfectly normal 🤷🏻‍♀️. I'm worried I'll test and it'll be that this is nothing more than my body going back to the 14 LP it was this time last year (which would obviously be a good thing).

Gemster19 · 23/08/2020 11:24

Sorry all I don't know what is up with my tagging!

Chlo2701 · 23/08/2020 11:51

@AnxiousAnnie86 I normally only ever get one lot of EWCM, I'm pretty dry which is why we should use the fertility lube really.
So do our pulse rates/RHR drop before ovulation & then rise the day after OV do you know? I reckon you'll get your peak tomorrow 🤞🏻
@Blossom428 yes I'm really hoping the spotting does stay away for you.
@Gemster19 you're doing well resisting the urge to test! I think I would of caved today if that was me. Do you have any FRERS? X

TheOrangeMonster · 23/08/2020 12:29

@Gemster19 thank you for the empathy, much appreciated. @Blossom428 the short cycle thing sounds tricky to manage, but it sounds like you might have extended it even if you haven’t caught this time round which must be a positive! @Chlo2701 I hear on the day of ovulation your LH levels actually go down again, it’s the 24-48 hour window beforehand that you’d get the peak levels.

I’m afraid I don’t understand charts very well beyond BBT/CBT and I stopped charting this cycle because it was so stressful to see no rise every single morning - I almost feel better not knowing and we do it every other day so we are covered.

Still have the one (very) sore boob (normal for me in luteal phase), some slippery stuff this morning on the tissue after my loo visit but not really enough to be convinced it was more than usual.... I don’t know, I feel pretty not pregnant, I don’t know how you’re supposed to feel really!

Chlo2701 · 23/08/2020 15:12

@TheOrangeMonster ahh ok, so what you're saying is that I wouldn't of got peak today if I ovulated last night, so hopefully I'll OV today/tonight or tomorrow 🤞🏻 when will you test do you think? X

TheOrangeMonster · 23/08/2020 15:21

@Chlo2701 yes that’s what I understand. LH peaks and that is what triggers the ovaries to release the egg, rather than the other way around.

I’ll test this coming Friday if AF doesn’t arrive. I know I didn’t ovulate until after at least Tuesday 11th because I was temping until then and it was all low, I think I ovulated on Friday 14th, so AF should come morning of Friday 28th if I’m not pregnant.

Blossom428 · 23/08/2020 16:09

@Gemster19 eeeek! Glad to hear your temp is still up and no sign of AF.... will you test tomorrow if still a high temp? You are so patient haha!

Some people do say they just don't have any symptoms initially... so you never know 🤞🏽🤞🏽

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/08/2020 16:33

@Gemster19 that's so positive!!!! I have absolutely everything crossed for you!!!!!

@Blossom428 you too! Surely one of us will be lucky this month!!!!

@Chlo2701 yeah if you'd missed ovulation yours tests would more than likely be negative! Mine go negative after I ovulate!

@TheOrangeMonster there looks to be three of you very near testing! Let us know how you are getting on! Like I said one of us should be lucky this month! We've been chatting for three months now and normally have one a month 🤣

question to opks! So I know I promised I wouldn't use cheapies this month...: but guess what I caved 😂 so still getting flashing on digital, and one step ones are looking no where near positive, it ava and premom are right and I'm due to ovulate on Tuesday I should get my positive tomorrow, so my question is the day before you get your postives what do your opks look like? X

Gemster19 · 23/08/2020 19:06

Oh girls I'm not patient I'm honestly bl**dy terrified - I just can't bear another month of disappointment. I cried at DP this morning and poor sod was so confused when I said I was crying because AF was a day late 😂

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/08/2020 19:38

@Gemster19 I totally get it, I don't test early, or test at all as I just cannot stand it.... not cos I have any patience! Are you ever late?! Any symptoms it's coming

my husband woke up this morn and told me he had a dream I was pregnant.. it's made me feel so fed up. My feelings ovulation are near have gone! X

Blossom428 · 23/08/2020 19:43

Are you testing twice with clear blue now @AnxiousAnnie86
I'm not the best to ask about the OPKs as on the cheapies my line never seems to go to positive, just very near to it.

Oww @Gemster19 !! It is so stressful isn't it!
I read on another thread I'm in about short LP saying about how people who get their BFP straight away and flaunt it like it was so easy, is just so hard to see.
But I can imagine that we only see the Facebook posts and often don't know the stories behind those- so I've found all these threads and posts so useful to know that it doesn't just happen magically like you may think.
We are all in this together- and we have to have one lucky member this month for sure!!!!

Oh- awks- I've just realised it was you that said it @Gemster19 😂😂😂😂
Excuse that comment then ahha. But it's right for what you said!!

TheOrangeMonster · 23/08/2020 19:54

@AnxiousAnnie86 at the rate of one a month hopefully we’ll all be home and dry by this time next year then! I also don’t test early, I did it way too much the first few times, I was just wasting tests. Now I only do it if AF doesn’t show, which isn’t very often (sometimes she gets me in the evening!)
@Blossom428 I have exactly the same issue with OPKs, they never go positive.
@Gemster19 I’m with you on that one!

Every time I manage to find some little thing to fixate on. This time it’s that my boob has decided to get a lot more sore than it usually does.
Does anyone else only ever get one sore boob? My husband finds it hilarious, he keeps checking which one he’s allowed to touch.... 🤣

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/08/2020 20:03

I think being in threads like this has helped me.... when I would just join random chats and you kept seeing people go oh first month ttc then three days later "is this positive OMG I wasn't expecting this so soo ln" wirh a blatantly obvious test! I was becoming a bitter old shrew!! With groups like this one, you see everyone's struggle and realise you aren't alone! And when you see someone in it get a positive are genuinely happy and have hope!!..... in my opinion 😂

13 months and a miscarriage later is really taking its toll x

Chlo2701 · 23/08/2020 20:21

@AnxiousAnnie86 I've never used the cheap opks, only ever done CB. But even on that when I ejected my stick this morning it wasn't as dark as the control line & that was a peak today! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/08/2020 20:43

@Chlo2701 my cheap opks are completely negative, just gonna have to wait it out, getting ewcm still so I guess it's on its way! Hopefully!! Maybe my eggs just getting really really healthy and ready 😂

Gemster19 · 23/08/2020 21:33

@AnxiousAnnie86 I've had a couple of cycles where I thought I was like 5 days late and I let it get so far that I think it couldn't possibly be anything but a BFP...but now I'm temping I can see I sometimes ovulate quite a lot later than I thought. Tomorrow would be the longest LP I've had with a confirmed ov date. I feel quite sick now which is normal for me just before AF so tbh I'm expecting a temp drop in the morning.

Thank you all for cheering me on - I feel so much better to not be in this on my own 💜. If this isn't my month I'll be happy as long as one of us keeps being lucky each month!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/08/2020 21:41

@Gemster19 I think temping is good even just for peace of mind of knowing when you ovulate! Please let us know how you get in tomorrow!! Fingers crossed it stays up!!!!!! X

WaitingForEgg · 23/08/2020 22:22

@AnxiousAnnie86 what does many days of flashing mean?

WaitingForEgg · 23/08/2020 22:23

@AnxiousAnnie86 what do you do temping wise? Is it as simple as it sounds that you check temp? How frequently?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 24/08/2020 06:52

@WaitingForEgg so on clear blue advanced you get flashing smileys when it detects a rise in oestrogen which indicates you are in your fertile window..... you then get a static smiley when it has detected a LH surge and will likely ovulate 24-36 hours after that....

I found temping stressful as you have to do it every single day at the exact same time when you wake up, before moving or talking or anything.... I have started using the ava bracelet which you just wear at night and it takes your temp heart rate and breathing rate when you are asleep x

Gemster19 · 24/08/2020 08:20

Well that's me out ladies 😢.

Trying to stay positive:

  • 14 day LP 👍🏼, hopefully that continues
  • I can get back in the gym this week without worrying
  • I've lost all the weight I wanted to so now I can increase my calories before my next fertile window
  • Excited to try soy and inositol this month
  • I have an extra month to add some savings to my maternity pay pot

And at least now I don't feel bad for going to a new nail place to avoid the pregnancy chat 😂...

AnxiousAnnie86 · 24/08/2020 08:30

@Gemster19 oh I'm so so sorry!!!! There isn't much I can say Cos I know exactly how you feel!!!

I'm so glad you are feeling positive, I love the months I feel upbeat ! You can join me on the soy train!!!! I actually have some inositol in cupboard! I bought it by mistake instead of soy! What does that do?! And can you take them together xx

TheOrangeMonster · 24/08/2020 08:57

@Gemster19 I’m so sorry. I think your plan for moving forward sounds excellent. Keep pushing on!

Blossom428 · 24/08/2020 09:39

Ow sorry to hear this @Gemster19 but like @AnxiousAnnie86 says I love your positivity!!
You've got a good plan moving forward and I think it's good to have that!! Good news about the LP though! Have you taken or done anything to make it longer?

My temp has dropped a bit this morning so I kinda think I'm gona start spotting today.

@AnxiousAnnie86 how's the clear blue the morning? Got your static yet?
