Positive OPK the day period is due!

I am due my period today, but I have had a positive opk! I don’t know if this is normal for me as I have never done one this late in my cycle before. I had brown spotting from CD19-24. I done an internet cheapie pregnancy test yesterday and this was negative. Has anyone had this... what did this mean for you? xx

Which type are you using? Mine measure LH and oestrogen and it did say you can get a high reading later because your oestrogen goes back up.

They are just the one step ovulation tests, I will have to read the packaging to check if they test for both x

This happened to me, and I was pregnant.

@Eabx I am just subscribing myself to this thread as I have also read positive OPK’s very late in your cycle can indicate pregnancy (because the LH test picks up the HCG). Hope you’re pregnant. Please keep us posted

I got positive OPKs just before my period with all three of my pregnancies.

This is the positive OPK I got the day my period was due and it turned out I was pregnant.

This was with my second child but I got a positive OPK with my first child too on the day my period was due.

I had another positive opk this morning, but lots of ewcm! I’m wondering if I am ovulating again. I’m going to try and get out and buy a test today.. I did order some frer online but my post is delayed. I spent yesterday morning vomiting and don’t feel so good today, but had a takeaway the night before and i ended up throwing it away as it didn’t taste good.. so I possibly have a touch of food poisoning.

The only time I have had brown spotting before was during my 4th pregnancy in 2016, I had this right up until I delivered him at 16 weeks, we found out after he was born that he had Trisomy 18. We have tried for another baby since but have had no luck. I have been prescribed the pill for my next cycle as we are giving up now xx

@Eabx I am very sorry to hear about how your fourth pregnancy ended. Cannot imagine how painful that was! I am very very sorry.

Don’t give up. Have you just run out of pregnancy tests therefore can’t test to see if it’s now showing a positive?

You might be ovulating? How long are your cycles usually? If they are irregular then there a good chance your ovulating again?

Yeah I have run out of tests, but will hopefully pick some up later x

We are going to stop trying after this cycle. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful girls and our angel boy, we have been trying now for 4 years and have been unsuccessful even with using clomid a couple of years ago. We have had so many early positives, to then turn negative and I am 41 now so not getting any younger. I am sad but happy to stop trying after this cycle if this makes sense xxx

So I’ve done a frer and it is negative, I guess I must be ovulating again or just late xx I’ve been trying to figure out how to upload a pic, but it’s not letting me x

@Eabx I know you want to stop trying next cycle. But why don’t you not go on the pill. Leave it up to fate, if it happens it happens... if not you’ve not lost out on anything as you were going to stop trying anyway?

Still no AF, although I am having cramps and some cervix pain so I think she is on her way, but I have just done this test.... it is a clear blue and is showing a faint line, although the whole test window was blue for ages, it took a while to clear, when it did at about 20minutes later, this was showing (see pic)... I have done a cheap clear and simple in too and that looks negative, it has a near invisible grey looking line.

Has anyone got experience with these tests?

I can see that line! Maybe you are pregnant! Maybe you’ve ovulated later than usual hence why the line is faint?

@Eabx and what’s the OPK showing? If it’s positive then all is not lost 😁

I haven’t done one for a few days, but the last one was negative, so I think I probably ovulating again x
