Early pregnancy symptoms? Too early to test?

Hi all,
TTC but never been pregnant before.
I had some symptoms 6DPO (22cd) which felt like AF was starting (abdominal cramps, back ache and mega bloating and nausea) but cramps were mild compared to AF. I've had a few even milder cramps and back ache but these symptoms have mainly now subsided especially but last night and this morning my nipples feel a lot more sensitive. I'm now on cd26 and AF is due in 3 days time. I took a pregnancy test this morning because I just had this really strong feeling like I was but it came back negative. Did anyone get a negative test a few days before and then BFP at a later date? Am I too early to test? Or is it just a no for this month?

Could certainly be too early to test.
Tests are most accurate from day of missed period (so the day after AF was due)
I didn't test positive in my second pregnancy until I was 6 days late! And I'm never late so was really confused.
I didn't tend to start getting symptoms of pregnancy until I was about 5/6 weeks pregnant although I did have twinges/cramps down below before AF was due.

I would say, hold the tests, you're being too impatient etc etc but I would only be a hypocrite 😂 I know exactly what it's like and was obsessed when TTC both times!

Hey there hope you don't mind me joining I'm in a similar situation AF due today and didn't arrive I've been testing with IC and only getting BFN I had cramps about a week ago were different to AF one and normally I'm hella moody the week before AF this week I feel on top of the world. Hoping to get a BFP if AF doesn't arrive in the next day or so baby dust to you xx

Hey, I'm hoping it is just too early to test! Hold out until after AF is due - I know its easier said than done because I'm in the same boat, AF due today but nothing and another BFN this morning (I tested on cd 26 too!) Its a rollercoaster!
I'm tracking my bbt too which is still high so hoping i'm not out just yet 🤞
Don't count yourself out until AF arrives (which hopefully she won't) x

Tiff 94 of course not! I don't usually get cramps until AF arrives and then I always suffer really bad. These cramps felt similar but very mild and i never get sore boobs before I'm due but my nipples are quite sore. I was convinced I'd get a positive result this morning, but now I'm thinking I'm probably not pregnant. I don't know its all so hard not to get your hopes up isn't it. Good luck. Lou, sorry what is bbt? I was hoping the cramps I felt on day 22 were implantation symptoms but Im not sure if I'm over thinking now. Hope you get your BFP too ❤️.

BBT is Basel body temperature and mine has been high since ovulation only dropped one day about 8 days ago for the day and back up since hoping implantation dip. Normally I have sore boobs before AF but not this week don't have any symptoms really other then some food cravings. Just did another IC test now and again BFN but still no sign of AF so I know I'm not out til I'm out so fingers crossed

It is Basal Body temperature. You take it first thing every morning before you do anything. Your temp increases after ovulation and stays up until AF is due. Its just another thing to get obsessed about haha but you try anything!
If you felt cramps on cd22, i would have thought it would be too early on cd26 to test. Try to give it until after AF is due! Stay positive x

I'm going to try and wait till Monday for another test, if AF hasn't arrived by then! X

I wish I could say the same but I know I will retest again tomorrow and Sunday with the IC if AF doesn't arrive and will go buy a FR or CB on Monday and find out for sure

Thanks for your advice guys, I'd seen on other posts some women had tested 4/5 days early and got positives. But i suppose our bodies are all different. Hopefully will find out in the next few days either way. Its the waiting to find out that does my head in. I'm sure you're both the same.

Its so tough, the wait is horrible!
I tested with clearblue today thinking this was it so use the good tests haha...but no such luck!

The wait kills me I spend 90% of the day thinking about it I feel my head will explode. Sorry for you BFN Lou hopefully it's the weekend for us

Some do yes but it doesn't mean you're not pregnant if you don't get a positive that early.

Depends what test you get too, ClearBlue Digital "Early" Detection for example has only a 51% accuracy when testing 5 days before missed period so pretty much half of women still get a negative even if pregnant. When you test from the day of missed period the accuracy rises to 99% (but for me I didn't even get one then, I didn't get a positive til 6 days late! And now very much pregnant at 30 weeks)

Also depends on the time of day you test too (first urine of the day is best) and how diluted your urine is x

BFN this morning too, but testing early so hoping it’s just too soon. I don’t know if I am hanging into hope or not!

Interesting to hear you had positive at 6 days late @TJ17 must have been very confusing indeed!

I’m about 10 DPO in a 28 days cycle, though it’s a bit messed up this month due to an early loss. I’ve had mild cramps on and off 7 /8 DPO, very unusual for me, books like bullets and generally feeling like a big cranky hormone. I think I’m due AF on the 1st but can’t exactly be sure.

The wait is the worst! I even thought TTC second time round would be so much more chilled as I'd done it all before and knew it could happen but honestly I think I was even worse! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I haven't forgotten the stress of it at all and the way that the months drag 😩 so I really feel for you all but to give you all some positivity I'm now sat here with one in bed and one on the way! It will happen eventually hang on in there! And if you wanna test every day for a week do it! I was just as obsessed with faint lines and symptoms and what not!

@bouncytree honestly I thought I'd go insane! I have a very regular 28 day cycle so as soon as I was late I was expecting the BFP but nothing! I went crazy just not knowing, I was actually just praying for AF in the end assuming I wasn't pregnant and wanted the torture to end! But sure enough on Christmas Eve I got my BFP! It was still a really faint line and by that point I was 6 days late so I was really concerned but it all turned out to be fine.

So basically you're not out of the game until AF comes. Hang on in there, sending baby dust your way

I have raging hormones tonight, feeling angry. and short tempered like I do before AF. I’ve kinda felt like that for a few days, but worse this eve...she could be on the way!

This is my first time TTC, hopefully it will result in a second pregnancy. My first DS was a surprise so I didn't do any early testing etc.

What I will say is that when I took the test with my DS it was the day of my missed period (AF was due that day) and the line was VERY faint and VERY squinty. My friend struggled to see it. We went for a midnight dash to Tesco and got a digital clearblue that said I was 1-2 weeks. There is no way that if I had tested any sooner than the day of my AF using a standard pregnancy test I would have had a line. So please don't be discouraged if you don't test positive early, I don't think you are out until AF arrives. I've tested this month at 10DPO and had a BFN, but I think that might've been the case had I tested at this stage with my first pregnancy.

These are all so reassuring to read! AF is 1 day late according to one app, and due tomorrow on another - and so far just BFNs - giving me hope that I am not out until I'm out and not everyone gets their BFP at 9dpo 😅 😂 Good luck all!

Argh @Tiff94 so frustrating! AF was due 2 day’s ago right? Is it normally regular?

Due yesterday and I normal always start on the day or the night before Im due AF not here by tonight I would then consider 2 day late
