Early pregnancy symptoms? Too early to test?

Hi all,
TTC but never been pregnant before.
I had some symptoms 6DPO (22cd) which felt like AF was starting (abdominal cramps, back ache and mega bloating and nausea) but cramps were mild compared to AF. I've had a few even milder cramps and back ache but these symptoms have mainly now subsided especially but last night and this morning my nipples feel a lot more sensitive. I'm now on cd26 and AF is due in 3 days time. I took a pregnancy test this morning because I just had this really strong feeling like I was but it came back negative. Did anyone get a negative test a few days before and then BFP at a later date? Am I too early to test? Or is it just a no for this month?
Thanks in advance for any help

@Tiff94 it's so frustrating, especially when you don't feel right. 🤞🤞🤞 Fingers crossed you though.
I think im going wait to test midweek if AF hasn't turned up by then. I do feel like somethings going on my boobs are so sensitive and sore and have been for 3 days now. I couldn't sleep last night they were so sore. So if I'm not pregnant then im going to have the period from hell!

@redhair1 are your symptoms similar to your usual PMS symptoms or different than normal?

Redhair1 · 27/06/2020 11:48

@msunflower No i never get sore boobs before AF is due on but theyre so sore I don't want to put a bra on. Occasionally I get very mild cramps a day or 2 before but then I get very strong cramps when AF does arrive. I had cramps and backache and bloating on cd22 but no cramps in the last few days. I usually get a few spots and a foggy/clumsy head just before AF arrives. Haven't had those symptoms yet. My cycle can vary between 28days to 30 days too so I'm not 100% when I'm due.

@redhair1 that all sounds really promising then! When is the earliest you can test?

Redhair1 · 27/06/2020 11:58

@msunflower I tested yesterday and got a BFN, tomorrow will be day 28 but I think i might try and wait till day 30 before taking another test unless AF makes an appearance before then.

@redhair1 🤞🏻 let us know how you get on! Hope you can still enjoy your weekend and keep busy to occupy yourself!

Bouncytree · 27/06/2020 12:27

So frustrating @Tiff94 but missed period is always the strongest sign esp if you are regular. Hold tight! The wait is agony I know! And every BFN is a blow.

@redhair1 signs sound promising. Sore boobs is very encouraging esp. if you don’t normally get them. Waiting a few days is a good idea if you can bare it.

I am trying to waiting it out too. I just don’t think I can take another inconclusive BFN. Testing wed or possibly Thursday...seems like so far away! I feel really off - the only way I can describe it is ‘disgusting’ ...kinda green around the gills, nausea, crampy, back ache and I have the rage! I was thinking the same as you...if it’s Pregnancy this is one monster AF. This could well be the case for me, as everything is a bit mixed up after the loss.

How is everyone else doing?

Redhair1 · 27/06/2020 13:38

@Bouncytree it's so deflating getting a BFN isn't it. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Wishing you a BFP soon ❤️.
I've been trying to keep busy in the garden so as to try and put it out of my mind. It's definitely not working though 😂

Tiff94 · 27/06/2020 15:06

Wishing we all get our BFP soon Still nothing today I definitely would be feeling terrible if AF was coming. Fingered crossed for you @Redhair1 they definitely sound like symptoms if you never get that before AF.

@Bouncytree definitely every time I seen the BFN I'm a little disheartened hope our BFP is next Smile

Bouncytree · 27/06/2020 16:42

Thanks @Redhair1, it was horrendous at the time, but I’m fine now. Maybe a little more jittery about the result. It was always a faint line and never viable, so barely more than a CP, so I feel lucky it was early.

I know it’s so much better when you can keep busy. I love the garden at the moment, great for mental health. Lol we try in vain! Lockdown makes it harder. If I was buzzin about at work, I wouldn’t have so much time to think about it.

And gawd yes the BFNs are a killer. It’s a such tough process.

@Tiff94 hang on in there! I know time feels like it’s on super slow speed.

In symptom news I am now mega nauseous....like huffing and puffing and leaning on the shelves in the super market. Very distinct. Feel like all the blood has drained from my face and I can’t think straight. If I’m not PG I think I have gone off my rocker! 🤪

It’s making me tempted to test again. 🤭

Hi ladies hope you don't mind me joining in 😊. Sounds like I'm at a similar stage to you all. 8/9 DPO and today I have started light spotting (only really noticible when wiping) . I usually get spotting a couple of days before AF but I've still got 6 days untill that's due so it's a bit odd. (although it has been known to be a little early it's not common). Anyone else had any spotting with the other symptoms?

Mrsmorton17 · 27/06/2020 21:26

I knew I was pregnant about 3 weeks before n early detection test could give a positive test 6 days before my period was due. It was the longest wait! And I'm now 8 weeks it feels like the longest pregnancy ever already!

LAnna20 · 27/06/2020 22:01

@mrsmorton17 if you don't mind me asking, how did you know?

Mrsmorton17 · 27/06/2020 22:07

From a day after ny period ended I had strange discharge, felt sick, felt maternal of a sudden, veins on my boobs and felt tired and low in mood. Kept getting negative tests, but then a clear blue early detection 6 days before my period was due was eventually positive. I had a private scan last week that confirmed I was 7 weeks. I remember coming on here and googling like mad about how people knew they were pregnant. But I just knew. Absolutely sureal. X

Redhair1 · 27/06/2020 22:40

@LAnna20 early spotting could be a sign of implantation

LAnna20 · 27/06/2020 23:28

@Mrsmorton19 Congratulations!
@Redhair1 I know I'm just trying to not look to much into it as the only other symptom I've had is a headache which I know could be completely unrelated x

indemMUND · 27/06/2020 23:45

Just wait. Testing too early is only going to make you more anxious. It's a journey not a sprint.
You can't be pregnant 3 weeks before a test could give you a positive result at 6 days before period is due. Yes you can get an intuition, but if even if you're carefully tracking your cycle that makes no sense and gives others false hope. Conception is way more complicated and time framed. That time frame will present itself when the pregnancy is scanned and dated via measurements. Congratulations though and best of luck to everyone trying.
Early pregnancy feels like an eternity, but nothing compared to the 3rd Trimester, at which point you'll sympathise with the gestation period Elephants have Grin

Tiff94 · 28/06/2020 04:35

4am test was again BFN now I'm officially 2+ days late for AF just laying in be DB and order CB from amazon to arrive tomorrow I can't take anymore BFN on the IC

Bouncytree · 28/06/2020 08:39

Hi @LAnna20 ! Yes we are all in the waiting it out boat, come join!

Timing sounds right for implantation, I’ve never had bleeding only cramps. Might be still on the early side, and possible not to have any other symptoms, esp. cos the hcg would only be beginning to rise....but the waiting and not knowing is so tough! We are all looking for answers, and though we know there is no real way to tell but time! It’s nice to be in it together, and share the experience. Fingers crossed for you!

Ive been pregnant and convinced I was not until after AF, and I’ve been pregnant and pretty sure I was pregnant a few days before the test. It’s all a bit mind melting!

At the moment I’ve had a BFN 10 DPO, and now just waiting it out, as can’t face another one. I’ve had sore boobs from 2 DPO and now I’m 12 DPO so the wait just feels like forever. Very strong nausea yesterday.

Congratulations @Mrsmorton17! Amazing story, I think you remember these experiences forever.

Argh@Tiff94 so annoying! Hopefully the CB can shed some light!

Szalinski · 28/06/2020 09:17

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant.

I'd been tracking my cycles a few months prior and was on a 28 day cycle.

I tested the day before my missed period and got a negative. Tested again when 2 days late and got a positive but it was relatively faint (but definitely there).

Tested again 7 days later and this time the test line appeared immediately and was darker than the control line.

So despite having a 28 day cycle I'm fairly certain I ovulated later based on those tests. Good luck OP!

Mrsmorton17 · 28/06/2020 09:23

Sorry didn't mean to offend/give false hope. I was sharing my story of how I had symptoms from the 7th of the month but I didn't get a positive test on an early detection until the 29th of the month. I tracked all my symptoms daily on 'get baby' app. And googled all the time wondering if I was or if the symptoms were something else. So my advice don't keep testing (I wasted a load of money and then was wondering why the tests were negative when I had so many symptoms). PS. keep off Google x

LAnna20 · 28/06/2020 09:50

Thanks all! It's good to hear personal experience @mrsmorton17 😊. I'm not testing until after AF is due (if I even get that far) apart from anything else I can't bring myself to literally piss money down the toilet 😂

Lou678 · 28/06/2020 09:52

well I am out Sad
Keeping my fingers crossed for you @Redhair1 @Tiff94 @Bouncytree @LAnna20 Smile

Tiff94 · 28/06/2020 10:36

Sorry to here @Lou678 fingers crossed next cycle for you.

Redhair1 · 28/06/2020 10:59

I'm out too 😢 I can't help feeling really disappointed. I was having symptoms I don't usually have but I guess I let myself get carried away. Ah well, at least I can treat myself to cup of coffee today. Good luck to the rest of you ladies. ❤️
