PMS or Pregnancy

Hey, my fiancé and I have not be actively trying and we use either condoms or withdrawal method as contraception (we both agree that although we're not trying, a baby would be a blessing so we don't mind the risk that withdrawal brings). We've had sex 3 times this cycle using withdrawal successfully. I believe a couple of times was around my fertile window (I track my cycle because it's a bit irregular). I am currently on cycle day 30 and AF has not come yet but on average she show up between day 28 and 32 so that's not too unusual. Since friday the 3rd (cycle day 25) I have been feel nauseated every day pretty much all day long. My boob have also been SO much more sore than they have ever been as a PMS symptom and my nipples are so sensitive and more perky than usual. I don't think my areolas look darker but putting my bra on this morning felt like tiny needles were stabbing me in the nipples... I've also been bloated and gassy and had on and off headaches, cramps and back ache... if AF doesn't show by Friday I think I will test.
I feel like I really could be pregnant and tbh I'm really wishing I am but I feel like I might be setting myself up for disappointment because although I've got all these symptoms, they could be PMS and although there is a chance with the withdrawal method, that chance is slim.
I made this tread so that I can talk to some people who may have some insight and to just generally be able to talk to someone about everything. I know no one can tell me if I am pregnant or not but I'd like to know what other people have experienced and weather I'm being stupidly optimistic thinking I could be pregnant...

I've had a bit of bleeding. Not much though and definitely not my usual AF flow. Could this happen at this stage or is it just the start of AF?... 😢

Fingers crossed for you!

Emae26 · 09/04/2020 19:41

@motherofdinosau thank you. Me and my fiancé didn't fully realise how bad we want a family until all of this and I'm filled with so many emotions... just hoping and praying

@Emae26 that's exactly how we was with our first- didn't realise how much we wanted a family! Fingers crossed for you!

Emae26 · 09/04/2020 20:19

@l0v3ro thank you. So scared this bit of bleeding is going to get heavier and this was all just PMS after all... I just can't believe I'd have all of this as PMS when I never have it like this before but I guess only time will tell...

OP posts:
Emae26 · 09/04/2020 20:21

Could it be implantation or other pregnancy related bleeding or am I just kinding myself?...

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me joining in here.

I'm going through something similar to you. I'm around 12 DPO with my period due on Sunday. On Tuesday I started getting pain in my lower abdomen area, and also started spotting blood. Yesterday and today I've had really light light pink spotting when wiping but that's it.

I never normally spot before AF and I'm normally pretty clockwork timings wise, so I'm not too sure what's going on either.

I've ordered some first response tests today which should be here tomorrow, so might take one of those.

Good luck with your test when you decide to do it :) x

Solomon1212 · 09/04/2020 20:54

I would do the test else your going to be fretting all night.
I had bleeding the week after i found out i was pregnant with my son which continued on and off through my pregnancy, hes now 9 years old.
Fingers crossed for you xx

Emae26 · 09/04/2020 21:03

@KateColx hope you get your positive. Would love to hear how you get on. Thank you, going to see if I bleed at all over night and if I don't I think I will test in the morning. Do you have any experience with Clear blue digital tests? I will be cycle day 32 (my cycle average 28-32). Do you think the test will be sensitive enough to show a positive if I am pregnant? Sorry but I'm now worried about this... jumping from one worry to another today 🤦‍♀️

@Solomon1212 very true but I've been going back and forth to the toilet so much checking for blood I don't think I'd have test worthy pee until the morning anyway.
Okay, that makes me a bit more relaxed. Thank you so much

@Emae26 I'll let you know, definitely keep us informed on how you get on too!

I don't have any experience with them personally sorry no, but my best friend was telling me today that she swore by them when she was testing for her two pregnancies. She said they showed positives when cheaper ones were negative. Although I think it does say not to test until the day of your missed period, but it sounds like you'll be there or there abouts ☺️

Good idea to see how you go overnight, they always say it's best to do it in the morning x

Emae26 · 09/04/2020 21:38

@KateColx okay, thank you so much, your message has really put me at ease. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow 😊

@Emae26 I used clear blue test with my first and got a positive at about 9dpo! I have a pregnancy test already in the draw (talk about being organised) but I'm gonna wait for a few more days to see what happens with the pink bleeding, on day 34 out of a 36-39 days!

Emae26 · 10/04/2020 02:00

@l0v3ro let me know how you get on!

I've just woken up and popped to the loo but now I've only just clicked that might not have been the best thing to do... will that effect my first morning wee? Will it still contain enough hcg to be able to show up on the test?

OP posts:
Geepipe · 10/04/2020 02:24

Hi op if you hold your wee for 4 hours that should be strong enough to test so if you dont wee again until about 7/8am then you are totally fine to have enough to test. I hope you get the result.you want.

KateColx · 10/04/2020 06:17

AF showed this morning! Try again next month :)

Fingers crossed for you if you're testing :)

Emae26 · 10/04/2020 07:21

@Geepipe okay, great. Thank you for your help

@KateColx sorry to hear that... fingers crossed for next month. Thank you 😊

OP posts:
JungleGiraffe · 10/04/2020 07:51

@Emae26 Have you done the test yet?

Emae26 · 10/04/2020 08:11

@JungleGiraffe just done it... so disappointed... 😭

OP posts:
JungleGiraffe · 10/04/2020 08:16

I'm sorry

Emae26 · 10/04/2020 08:52

@JungleGiraffe just really isn't how I thought all of this was going end... I just have no idea why I have been feeling the way I have been and am continuing to feel. It all just seems like so much more than PMS but there you go...

OP posts:
l0v3ro · 10/04/2020 08:58

@Emae26 I feel for you!

JungleGiraffe · 10/04/2020 09:04

@Emae26 The menstrual cycle is heavily influenced by things like stress and changes to lifestyle, so I'd blame the pandemic

KateColx · 10/04/2020 10:44

@Emae26 it's a horrible feeling isn't it, I felt worse than I thought I would this morning.
