Bfp line faded after a few hours

Hi ladies, I took an FRER and Asda own brand this morning (think I’m 13dpo). I dipped them both in fmu although it was quite diluted as I had been thirsty through the night. The Asda one came up with a line straight away, albeit a very faint one. The FRER took about a minute and was lighter than the Asda one but was still a pink line. I went back to bed and when I got up a few hours later and the FRER line had faded to basically nothing. The Asda one is still visible but the FRER one is barely there. What are my chances? Im going to try and hold off a couple of days and retest but it is killing me inside! This is our 7th year ttc x

If you are sure of your ovulation date a FRER should definitely have picked up something by now and be a clear BFP. I've found the times where a faint line faded then it wasn't a successful month sorry OP x

I would test again ASAP. I’m pretty sure from your description you’re pregnant, lines do fade but wouldn’t appear in the first place without you being pregnant. I have four children but have been pregnant six times and my tests before my period was actually due were all very faint positives that faded after an hour or so.

Yes that’s what I thought. I thought I had implantation bleeding at 9dpo as I had pink watery stuff when I wiped once and have had no other symptoms, apart from increased cm. Never mind.

Really? Well that is promising. I had a couple more left so might try and hold off as I’m scared of getting a bfn. It’s like torture!

Ah op I get it. I’ve been really lucky to fall pregnant easily but I do remember the torture of the two week wait and the agonising over faint lines. When are you actually due on? X

I’m due in 2 days. I just thought if I did have IB then I would have had a clear positive by now! xx

But you have got a clear positive! You’ve got two positive tests no matter how faint the line. Would this be your first bfp? After 7 years of ttc I’m sure you know everything there is to know about getting a bfp! But I’ve always been told (and it’s always been true in my experiences) you can have a false negative but not a false positive. Would you like to post a photo of your tests? Not saying I know anymore than you do but might help to talk about your actual tests, a problem shared and all that! Everything crossed for you op

I held my wee in all day and took the other Asda one and I see another faint line. I’m scared to get excited in case I just see what I want to. I mean they are soooo faint. Il work out how to post them. It would be the first time ever to have a bfp. I mean I thought I’ve had them before but they just turned out to be evaps. I feel sick! I bet it’s not a real bfp and it’s just dodgy tests or more evaps. Just my luck xx

Ok lovely deep breaths and relax. They don’t sound like evap lines but I completely understand your anxiety. When I was expecting my second I took a test 3 times a week until my 12 week scan...cost a fortune! Are you on a phone or laptop/desktop? At the bottom of the screen you should see a paperclip symbol, if you click on that you can attach a photo. I actually found Superdrug/Asda/cheap boots tests more reliable than first response. You still have 2 days before you miss a period so lines will be faint

God they are so faint so I’m not getting my hopes up. I bet you can’t even see them xx

That will be me testing constantly until it was born xx

I can see something on those tests. Try not to drink too much and do another test with FMU.

Also a FRER should pick it up at 13dpo?
Or are you unsure about dates ?

I would wait at least two days to retest so you can get a reliable answer...

I’m so sorry but I can’t actually see a line at all, my tests were very very faint but there was a line. I’m so sorry. Test again in a couple of days if you don’t come on xx

Thanks for looking guys. There are defo line but so very faint. Hubby came in from work so was showing them and he could see them and he usually says he can’t see anything. Anyway they may just be flukes or something. Il retest in a few days and keep you posted xxx

Hi OP, I got a super faint positive on a FRER that faded to nothing and with same urine got a good positive on a Boots early response. Two days later the line on another FRER was still pretty weak but Boots early response much stronger and a Clearblue digital said 1-2 weeks. Clearblue digital went up by one week like clockwork to 3+ weeks so hopefully all is going in right direction. I’m now 8 weeks and fingers crossed all going well. I found the FRER a bit disappointing and will just be using the Boots ER in future.

Aww congratulations, how lovely. I did get darker lines with the Asda early response. Will get some more and do them over the week xx

Sorry can't see any lines and think with those dates you should def see more than that at this stage. Really sorry x

With my second DC I tested early as it was NYE so wanted to know if I could drink. I had a positive test that then faded within an hour. Took another, same thing happened. He's 7 now so I wouldn't lose hope just because the line is fading.

I haven’t been well last night and today on and off. Been going really hot and then sick. I have diarrhoea as well so probably just a bug. Not testing until tomorrow now. I’m scared it’s a negative xx

Thanks I love the positive stories. The lines are still there but went lighter when they dried. The frer is proper pink but I was reading forums where others have said that their evaps on frer were pink xxx

You haven’t come on so that’s a really positive sign
