Quick tip in terms of keeping up with the thread for newbies - if there is a lot of posts when I check in I sit with a bit of paper and scribble down any messages/comments for people so I can keep track in my reply, cross bits off if already answered etc - HTH!

runtus · 12/10/2004 10:02

Glad you are feeling a bit better Cobweb, keep downing that chocolate!

Started temping yesterday (dh against it initially) so I've only got two readings to go by but wanted to check, should I be temping while af is around - or does that knock it off an even scale? Going to get some ov kits in a week or so as well to try and pin down ov properly this month.....

MINNIE1 · 12/10/2004 10:44

Morning all,
CD26 no sign of any symtoms or AF so it looks like i'll be hear for a while !!!

spykid,
How are you? did you look in the drewer??

Cobweb, Hope the days fly for you..

runtus,
Don't know much about the temping, but i would temp every morning,

hester · 12/10/2004 10:45

Glad you're feeling a bit better, Cobweb. All fingers STILL tightly crossed for you.

Hi Cosybear, yes I'm a first-timer too. And 40! First started trying to get pregnant five years ago, but lots of life stuff has happened (if ever this thread goes quiet, I'll bore you with it - but no danger of that yet ). I never thought I'd still be ttc at the age of 40. This time round I've been ttc for eight months. It's very hard to cope with the continued failure at my age, and with the fear that it will never happen. AF came last night, so I'm feeling a bit at the moment, but have promised myself gin AND chocolate later, so not all is doom and gloom!

runtus · 12/10/2004 10:51

Hooray for gin and chocolate Hester, Sweetheart would be so proud!

Bagpuss30 · 12/10/2004 11:08

Morning all, just thought I'd pop in to see how you are all doing today. No news here as I am on my 2 week wait now and trying not to symptom spot which is difficult. Cobweb, I'm glad things are settling down for you and I still have my fingers crossed . Hello and welcome to any newbies I have missed, this is a really busy thread all of a sudden, what is it about October I wonder? Hester I am very jealous about the gin and chocolate. I am allowing myself the latter but not the former whilst we are TTC (and when hopefully pg of course!) so you can have my share too.

Tessiebear · 12/10/2004 11:13

Morning all! CD27. Should be excited and ready to test but think i oved really late so i am on the 2 week wait as well. Trying not to think about it and not imagine symptoms!

MINNIE1 · 12/10/2004 11:18

i wish i had a regular cycle...

Tessiebear ,
Will you test tommor??

hester · 12/10/2004 11:26

Of course I'll have your share, Bagpuss, just as a favour to you, you understand. In fact I'm willing to have gin and chocolate on behalf of everybody on this thread who is currently in the last half of their cycle

MINNIE1 · 12/10/2004 11:30

hester, Mines a double gin!!!!

hester · 12/10/2004 11:32

Consider it done, Minnie

alterego · 12/10/2004 11:44

cobweb - thinking of you and praying that you and baby will be OK. xxxxxxxxx

alterego · 12/10/2004 11:53

COngratulations Mrs Wednesday

(Can anyone tell I'm struggling to keep up with this thread, it moves so quickly?)

runtus · 12/10/2004 12:21

Ohh, I'm on a hen do on Thursday night so I'll help out with any leftover gin!

MINNIE1 · 12/10/2004 12:25

runtus
Bring a plastic bag for the left over gin and we can supply the straws!!! who knows a good bakery for double choc cake.. Think i'll need it this wkend... Prepare for the BFN..

alterego,
How are you doing, This thread has gone so fast in the last couple of weeks.

Sallie · 12/10/2004 12:59

cd 27 - am soooo tempted to test - have some in my desk as am very miserable at work, missing the kids etc etc. However, ovulated on days 18 and 19 according to persona so may be too early....what do you think????

hester · 12/10/2004 13:01

I think it's possibly too early, Sallie. Though that probably wouldn't stop me...

runtus · 12/10/2004 13:05

Left over Gin - there is no such thing!

Tessiebear · 12/10/2004 13:20

Minnie - yes i WANT to test tommorow but i am not entirely sure when i OVed and think it will be way too early
Question for all - is it possible to get "egg-white" CM AFTER ovulation and can you get it at any other time apart from OV. The reason is i got it for 1 day (well afternoon and evening) then no more on cd22 -?

Sallie · 12/10/2004 13:21

Tessiebear · 12/10/2004 13:22

that doesnt make sense - on CD22 i got the "egg-white CM" in the afternoon and evening. Havnt had any since. BDed on CD 23 am now on cd 27.

Tessiebear · 12/10/2004 13:24

Sallie - if you know for sure that you OVed on CD 18 or 19 - i wouldnt test until CD32. Sorry - my sensible head wouldnt test until CD32 - the normal me would test today just in case!! (But be prepared for a "too early" BFN)

Sallie · 12/10/2004 13:55

maybe what I should do is leave the tests in my desk at work (locked of course) and test when I am in on Thursday. That way I won't be tempted tomorrow. Have got the Boots tests which are supposedly very sensitive....

Bagpuss30 · 12/10/2004 13:57

Minnie1 I have a very good recipe for chocolate cake that is to die for which I may share in due course .

Tessiebear, I think you can get CM at odd times. I have a pattern in my cycle of one long and one shorter cycle but the CM is always at roughly the same CD although OV is usually much later on the longer cycle so sometimes the two don't match up IYSWIM. Sorry if that's not clear. Why not look on fertility friend for some hints there, although I'm not temping I do sometimes find it a useful source of information.

yingers74 · 12/10/2004 14:04

darn, period started so am starting the whole countdown again. Have only been trying for a short while, u forget how upsetting it gets. I feel very dissappointed.

Good luck to all
