I have been trying for a baby for around 5 months and did this test this morning, am I seeing things after staring at these for so long every month !? My period is due tomorrow so may be too early to even say... Thanks in advance

Did you track ovulation yourself or just rely on the app? If you ovulated later than you thought then the very feint lines might still be ok. But I think realistically with the numbers of days you’ve been getting barely visible lines this is unlikely to result in a viable pregnancy. I know it’s really disappointing. After a while you realise that it’s best to stop with early testing and to track ovulation carefully. Good luck.

It was second wee of the day and was quite dark and that line was within around 3 mins but can’t see much colour unless I shine the torch on my phone on it. I use an app that estimates ovulation based on cycle (about a years worth of data on there and always every 26 days) so that guessed ovulation at 14th Jan x

Also not sure if this is relevant in any way but my wee has had a strong smell for the last two days, I can’t even describe the smell but just weird ! Had a headache for a few days and felt really hot and sweaty, but again maybe that’s not related and I’m over thinking things ....

I wouldn't rule it out yet, on the basis that AF is late and presumably no sign? It could be that you ovulated a bit late or that implantation happened a bit late. You've had faint lines on different brands of test so, even if this is a chemical, it gives a good indication that you can conceive. I know that's little consolation if that is the case - I had a chemical last year so I know how difficult it can be. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Ellabella234 · 01/02/2020 12:31

@Binky89 So how many dpo do you think you likely are?x

Binky89 · 01/02/2020 13:00

If the app is right , it would be 14 days . And I know what you mean, I should definitely think myself lucky if I am able to conceive, could always be worse x

And still no sign of period ..

Periods started ! 3 days late so must have been the wrong time ☹️ I feel like I’ve lost something even though there was never anything there probably, although at least I’ve only been trying for 5-6 months, hopefully when it’s meant to be, it’ll happen x

That is so disappointing OP, I know the feeling. Baby dust for next cycle xxx

peachgreen · 01/02/2020 21:52

Oh Binky I'm sorry. I reckon that was a chemical - understandable to feel a loss. You'll get there. Flowers

Binky89 · 01/02/2020 22:30

Thankyou, it’s hard reading this thread how as I remember how positive I was (no pun intended) when I started it but I know I should be happy and grateful that I conceived at least and things could always be worse etc , thanks for the replies though I do really appreciate it, and I know I’m not the only one who is going through this ! X

Binky89 · 02/02/2020 01:11

Thankyou everyone, hopefully I’ll one day read this and feel some sort of happiness thinking of how uncertain I was ! But I’ll see what happens in the future , definitely could be worse xx

@Binky89 it's probably worth getting some opk Tests for next month, the dates the apps predicting ovulation could be way off

Nicecupofcoco · 02/02/2020 10:01

Oh @binky89 I'm so sorry. I was just checking in to see how things were going and if you'd tested again.
I know how you feel, it's gutting. Flowers I know everybody is different, but let yourself grieve and cry if you need too. I felt so much better once the bleeding had stopped after my chemical, surprisingly, as I felt so gutted at the time. But was glad to move into a new cycle and saw it as a fresh start. I conceived that next cycle too,and I did read afterwards that you are more fertile afterwards so maybe that had something to do with it.
Don't give up with it. With my first dc it took 10 months to conceive, and at that point I was giving up hope. I don't want to just say it will happen for you, as that used to annoy the hell out of me when people said that to me. Have you been using opks? I found they helped alot, just online cheapies.
Good luck op. Thinking of you.

Binky89 · 02/02/2020 10:17

Thanks for the messages, never used an ovulation tests etc, literally just relying on the app so abit of a guess really x

I’m really sorry to hear that. I would definitely use OPKs or temping to find out when you’re ovulating. I just used the app to begin with but when I started using OPKs, I realised how inaccurate it was.

Sausage1990 · 03/02/2020 11:52

Hi @Binky89 - I have used opk this month for the 1st time as I wanted to be sure if my app was right or not.

I do track my CM too and have for a while and my Flo app is usually predicting ovulation around the time of my ewcm but I just didn't know for sure.

My app wasn't accurate this month (1st cycle since chemical) and my ovulation was a week later BUT my CM was accurate. I knew I wasn't ovulating as Flo predicted because I didn't have any ewcm and then when I did, I had a positive opk test (test line darker than control which is peak hormones).

I just got some cheap ones from amazon so you might find it helpful... Xx

Binky89 · 03/02/2020 18:28

I’ll start looking at stuff like that, thanks for the advice I really appreciate it ❤️
