Dry January

Anyone else doing dry January this month? I could do with some motivation and comradery! I'm on CD2 of cycle 2 ttc #1. Last month was our first try, but tbh it was always going to be a bit unlikely as my TWW fell right over Christmas and NY, and I fully enjoyed myself and ate and drank a LOT 😂 This month I'm doing dry January, both for my general health and also to possibly improve my chances of conceiving this month. I'm not a midweek drinker, but I have a feeling Friday and Saturday nights will be tricky once I'm back at work! Anyone want to join me on this thread for a bit of support?

@bluemoon2468 I know you said about cramping before but have you had any other symptoms? Just out of curiosity :)

bluemoon2468 · 25/01/2020 09:57

@Newbie0818 I've actually had loads of symptoms already. I'm absolutely exhausted, I've felt nauseous for 3 days and I was sick in the middle of the night last night. I also have a really dodgy tummy (TMI 🙈). I feel absolutely awful today tbh, feel like I'm just really ill 🤢

Aww! That’s good though!

I’ve been feeling like af is going to come, random twinges :/

bluemoon2468 · 25/01/2020 17:24

@Newbie0818 when's she due?

OP posts:
Newbie0818 · 25/01/2020 18:06

@bluemoon2468 well I thought it would be the 31st, but since I ov’d on the 23rd I have no idea :/

bluemoon2468 · 25/01/2020 18:11

@Newbie0818 still very early days then. From my experience anyway, feeling like AF is going to come right after ovulation can only be a good thing!

I hope that’s the case @bluemoon2468! Rather than a super short luteal phase..

Newbie0818 · 28/01/2020 18:53

Update - I genuinely thought af was on the way when I was getting the cramping that I said before. No sign of her yet (only due today though so who knows).

Has anyone been tracking their cervix?

I’ve been doing it for the last couple of months daily and feel pretty confident, last month it was very low and hard on the lead up to af. A couple of days ago it seemed to dip lower and now it’s gone right back up and soft again! I’ve been reading online (because I’m obsessed, insane and symptom spotting like mad 😂) and apparently if that happens after ovulation that’s a good sign... 🤞🏼 Still way too early to test I think as I’ve ovulated later than I thought. This is torture haha!

How are things going @bluemoon2468?

bluemoon2468 · 28/01/2020 19:05

@Newbie0818 I'm doing well! Thanks for asking 😊 Only turning 4 weeks tomorrow according to my dates but feels weird to be so early along as I got my positive so early in my cycle. Test line became as dark as control line 3 days ago. Have a feeling I might measure further ahead once I get a scan. Still got my fingers crossed for you as AF hasn't showed yet 🤞🏻

That’s good @bluemoon2468 :) how exciting! Thanks a lot 🤞🏼

MGee123 · 29/01/2020 20:18

Glad things are going well @bluemoon2468 😊

Fingers crossed for you now @Newbie0818!

We're back to the alternate day DTD. I'm feeling much more relaxed this month having decided not to do the OPKs. Work is busy and I've booked a few things in which I had put on hold. I think I'm just going to try carrying on as normal for a few months and try not to worry about the TTC stuff. Then see what happens! I know everyone says that's what you're supposed to do, but I've found it hard so far.

bluemoon2468 · 29/01/2020 20:25

@MGee123 were you doing alternate days last month? It worked for us 🤞🏻

MGee123 · 30/01/2020 21:05

Yes we were. We're just going to keep doing that for a few months and try not to stress about it. I'm feeling much better for not fixating so much, although the urge to POAS does kick in at times 😂

I'm distracting myself by keeping busy with other things and am actually feeling like time is going by quicker. No doubt in a month or 2 I'll be back to obsessing though!

bluemoon2468 · 30/01/2020 21:34

@MGee123 well done, that sounds lik a really healthy approach 😊 I can't wait to hear of your good news sometime soon 🤞🏻

Hi all 😊 just wanted to check back in with this group a few months down the line and see how you're all getting on! Would love to hear about some more BFPs! I'm now 18 weeks along and finding out the sex tomorrow which is very exciting! Hope you're all doing well 💕

Hello! 👋 so glad things are going well for you 😊. Any guesses on boy/girl?! How are you feeling?

We're still TTC. I had a long cycle (for me) this month which got my hopes up but AF arrived today. I started iron tablets in March as I was severely deficient, so am hoping those might help! I am going to restart ovulation testing this month after having a break. I've just ordered the Clearblue digital tests and am excited to try them. Also ordered 'It starts with the egg' which should arrive Sunday. Heading into this month fully prepped 😂

bluemoon2468 · 01/05/2020 21:08

@MGee123 sorry to hear that you haven't had your BFP yet, but glad that you've managed to stay relaxed and take a break from testing. Tbh from my dates I now know that despite temping and taking OPKs I had my ovulation completely wrong and actually conceived a week earlier than I thought, right after AF ended! It's all a bit of a mystery.

I really, really feel like it's a girl but there's not really any good reason for that! I'll be so shocked if it's a boy though. Tbh pregnancy has been a lot tougher than I anticipated so far and I cant pretend I'm enjoying the process, but would never complain as I know I'm lucky!

@bluemoon2468 Aww yay! So exciting! Enjoy every second.

Still going here :( very long and irregular cycles so had bloods done last week. Hopefully nothing too serious.
