Late/missed period after cervical smear test

So I had my first smear test during my last cycle and I am now 5 days late for my period. My cycle is always 28-29 days and I’m never any later. I did think it was possible to be pregnant as we have been trying however the test came out negative.
Has anyone else experianced a changed in the period after having a smear??

I had my first smear this cycle too. 2 days late and BFN also.

Hi teachpeace, I’m glad it’s not just me! Are you still waiting for it? I’m getting really impatient now as I just want to get my cycle back round to ovulation!!

@Kikigirl still waiting! Very odd because I've had none of the usual symptoms I have with AF but nothing happening in the pregnancy test department!

I am exactly the same!! And I have never ever been this late, especially not 5 days. I was so convinced I was pregnant and gutted when I saw the BFN.

It must be coming up to 7-8 months but the past few months I have been using OBKs. How long have you been TTC?

I have tried the clear blue digital test however that didn’t seem to pick anything up. I’m now on the individual strip tests which were a lot cheaper and seem to work better for me! Although, everyone’s different :)

I got ones called one step and they seem to be doing the job :) any sign of AF yet? I’m now a week late, it’s killing me... never wanted one so badly!

Thank you - I'll have a look. Nope not a single symptom another pregnancy test just to check and I know it's definitely a BFN now. Got my smear results though and everything fine so at least there's that!

I’m the same, did another test this morning just to be 100% and a BFN again! I’m now sat with a hot water bottle to see if it helps! And my smear test result came back a few days ago and were also all clear which is great!

I’m now on day 8! And it has to be something to do with it, this is the first time it’s happened to me! I’ve don’t some googling and lots of people have experienced the same thing however doctors say a smear shouldn’t effect it. Very strange!

Oh no! That’s so annoying... I have feeling that this one has got lost. I’m just hoping mine comes when I start my next cycle, I have given up expecting it now 😑

I'm getting the same feeling still booked myself a doctors appointment to get some norethisterone though though as really don't want AF turning up and spoiling the holiday. Gutted as really didn't want to mess with my cycle again!

Haha how crazy! Please send some AF dust my way! It's encouraging to know you CAN be 11 days be late. Starting to think I was broken 😂
