Exactly @Wise0wl! Where is AF!!! I'll only be 4 days late on Thursday so might give myself the full week before I decide to write it off this time. Just can't work out what's happened though. I'm hoping the gp might help @WatchOutLurkerAbout but I'm not sure they will take me seriously....

Stay positive @brookepardoe1! It ain't over till it's over!!! I also know someone who took a full week to get a positive for two of her pregnancies so you never know ladies...

Wise0wl · 11/12/2019 17:58

Hello all!

@EmmaMCS getting really frustrated now! Still spotting, still no sign of AF. I would say I’m definitely out but the brown spotting is so weird. I’d almost rather AF came properly so I can just move on!! Am on CD33 and AF is 5 days late. Bought some FRERs today so thinking of holding on for 4 hours and testing but don’t know if it’s worth it? Surely by now it’d show?

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 11/12/2019 18:38

@Wise0wl I can recommend the Ava and can point you in the direction of discount codes if you'd like. It's so easy.

Oh no @Brookepardoe1 I hope you're ok!

Yeah I hope that they do @EmmaMCS it's a nightmare having to fight for basic care!!

I did a FRER last night after holding for six hours and it was negative. I'm gassy as hell today so I'm pretty sure that my AF is on the way. =[

gg321 · 11/12/2019 20:58

Hi again, still no AF for me and I didn’t test this morning (impressed myself) been working all day so not thought about it much. I don’t even know if I’ll test in the morning, rather wait and maybe buy a Frer tomorrow and test Friday morning if af hasn’t arrived. I’m only 2 days late

OP posts:
Wise0wl · 11/12/2019 21:13

@WatchOutLurkerAbout thank you - I might take you up on discount codes at this rate!

@gg321 well done for not testing this morning, and glad work kept your mind busy. I’ve got a FRER and tempted to do it tonight as surely this late it would show even with FMU, but feel like it would be a waste to do it as it’ll probably be a BFN!

EmmaMCS · 11/12/2019 21:24

So weird @Wise0wl - maybe hang on until tomorrow if you can?? And deffo well done @gg321 for holding on too! If you can get to Friday that would be so good!!

@WatchOutLurkerAbout My DH saw the advanced nurse practitioner at our GP today (tonsillitis bless him) and he asked her about me whilst he was there. She said it was definitely best to wait for a whole week for AF to be late before testing, I thought that was good to know but also reassuring that she might be good to speak to if I still don't have any answers by next week!

That said (!) I'm gonna try one more cheapy test tomorrow (boobs have been so painful all afternoon!) and then try to forget about it for a few days as we're away for the weekend. Will let you know what I find.......

gg321 · 11/12/2019 21:29

That’s what I think about should be showing anyway whatever the time of day you test although you are later than me, I just thought all tests pick up positive of there was one on day or day after af due and frer 6 days before so if it is to be then surely should be showing on a test. I’m waiting as long as I can just do that when I do a test (if af still hasn’t arrived that I can have faith in it’s answer, if nothing else it will save me money buying daily tests!

OP posts:
gg321 · 11/12/2019 21:34

I just think what will be will be, done if I am pregnant then whether I find out in the morning or 4/5 days time the result will be the same. If I test in the morning and it’s a bfn I’ll probably still be thinking might just be too early I’ll wait, but if I wait to begin with and test when i can get a definite yes or no! Anyway I’m rambling and repeating myself and it’s all probably bulls*#t as I’ll prob still keep testing daily 😂

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 11/12/2019 22:08

@Wise0wl just let me know if you decide to! If not there's a UK Ava fb group and people are always selling second hand on there.

@EmmaMCS that's interesting! I've heard of women getting late positives but never really given it any attention. Well fingers crossed one of us gets one!!

@gg321 you're a stronger woman than me! I've stopped buying tests because I literally piss them away lol. I've got one FRER left from yesterday's purchase. Going to do it tomorrow morning if no show of AF as I have my fertility appt in the afternoon.

EmmaMCS · 12/12/2019 10:41

Bfn for me this morning from the cheapo one!! Gutted but not really surprised. I'm going to try and channel you @gg321 and wait until next Weds when I'm back from my hols. I will be 10 days late then and 2 weeks after when I started spotting (what I thought was implantation!) After that I'll definitely call it a day and see if docs will give me a blood test to try and get some answers, at least work out where I am in my cycle if nothing else!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 12/12/2019 21:30

@EmmaMCS I'm sorry about the BFN I hope that you get an answer soon!

I've had my fertility appointment today. Some of it good. Some of it bad. I've got to have treatment but got a long road of 6+ months before it can even be considered. One thing that they did say about my late period is that it's not considered a problem or requires testing until it's been two months without a bleed and generally speaking as long as you bleed four times a year that's considered healthy. So basically suck it up and call them by the end of January if still nothing.

Not going to lie I'm totally deflated and broken.

gg321 · 12/12/2019 22:01

Sending big hugs to you@WatchOutLurkerAbout I really feel for you, but I’m sure you will get there and it will be that much more special and precious to you when you do, keep yourself busy and close to friends and family and enjoy Christmas as much as you can 😘 your time will come

OP posts:
EmmaMCS · 13/12/2019 08:34

So sorry @WatchOutLurkerAbout, that's so so frustrating. But hang on to the positives - help is at hand and it will just take a bit of time. That six months will pass before you know it. And yes it will be so worth the wait!!! 💕

Did not know that about only needing 4 periods a year to be considered healthy.. that doesn't sound right to me!!!!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 13/12/2019 08:45

Thank you @gg321 and @EmmaMCS !

Yeah the four bleed thing didn't sound right to me either we challenged it a bit and did some research when we got home and it's right. As long as there's no other issues like PCOS etc four periods is enough to keep your lining healthy and suitable for implantation apparently

gg321 · 13/12/2019 14:31

Ok so my waiting to test theory didn’t go to plan and I tested again yesterday with a cheaply and was a bfn, 4 days late now and I’m never late and still feeling sick. But can someone please confirm that it is impossible for me to be pregnant, the last possible occasion it could have happened was 22 days ago, surely I’d have to be showing a bfn by now?!? Even with sperm waiting a while until I ovulated, then waiting for implantation all that wouldn’t take more than 22 days to show a positive if there was one. Again I don’t even mind if I’m not as not trying I just want to know why I’m feeling so rough and now 4 days late!

OP posts:
gg321 · 13/12/2019 14:32

Sorry that’s meant to say surely I’d be showing a bfp by now if there was one, I mistakenly put bfn**

OP posts:
EmmaMCS · 13/12/2019 22:29

I'm there with you @gg321! 4 days late, aching boobs and feel really sick and sleepy. But just a load of bfn!! I don't think it's impossible that you're pregnant, maybe just very unlikely. Maybe wait until you're a week late then test again? And if nothing then give your gp a call? That's my plan! x

Indigo89 · 15/12/2019 08:10

Did a test and it was bfn.
However, period started the next day and I am delighted! This is my first period since DD 17 months was born, so at least now I know I am ovulating, I can realistically start TTC around ovulation rather than having an optimistic stab in the dark (excuse the pun) Blush

Blondeandbroody · 15/12/2019 08:28

@gg321 I've read a lot because I've been obsessing over all this since TTC and some people say it has taken a week after they're due for their hormone levels to register on tests so they got BFN even when they were late. As they say you're only out when AF shows, it must be awful but hang in there wait again and test or see if AF shows. X
