Could this have been a chemical pregnancy?

Hi, me and my DH have been ttc for around 18 months now. I've had 27 day cycles with af lasting 3-4 days pretty much like clockwork for the whole time. This month I had what I thought might have been implantation bleeding on 11 and 12dpo. I was then 2 days late for af but didn't do a test as I hate seeing negatives! Af then arrived and she has been with me now for 9 days and is showing no signs of stopping Sad. I have no experience of chemical pregnancies and just wondered if this sounds like it could've been one? It's just so out of the ordinary I don't know what to make of it! Tia

Sounds like it might have been a chemical Flowers

Have you seen the GP yet? Or are you supposed to wait until you have been TTC for 2 years before you can get a referral?

lavenderlove · 14/09/2019 14:45

@NameChange30 thank you for the reply. If it was I would just be glad to know something is actually happening in my body. Although I would have been devastated if I saw a positive test and then af arrived.

My Dh went to the doctor in February but I haven't been yet. I keep putting it off Sad I'm going to make myself go this month.

Please do go. I know lots of people who had success after various things, one person with PCOS just needed medication, others had success after IVF (which is not an easy road I know) but there is hope for you - you just need to take the first step.

@NameChange30 just to update you I went to the doctors as I am still bleeding, and she got me to do a pregnancy test and it was positive!! I'm in complete shock I really didn't think that was a possibility after all the bleeding. I've got an appointment at the pregnancy unit later today to see if everything is ok so I'm not getting my hopes up yet x

I'm glad you went to the doctors, that is a long time to be bleeding. Best of luck at the EPU Flowers

TripleASays · 16/09/2019 13:27

Fingers crossed for you, OP!

Fluffsmum · 16/09/2019 14:29

Oh wow! Fingers crossed it's a good result for you.

lavenderlove · 16/09/2019 16:21

Thank you all! They have taken my blood and should be ringing me with the results before 7pm. If they are high enough I will be asked in for a scan tomorrow, and if not they will retest my blood in 2 days. Just want to know what's going on! X

I would want to know too! I thought they might scan you today, weird the GP didn't take bloods but maybe it's quicker at the EPU. Let us know how you get on x

lavenderlove · 16/09/2019 20:19

@NameChange30 they was pretty quick at the EPU they rang me back about 6pm and said my levels are at 135 and I need to go back on Wednesday for a repeat. The CB digital I took this morning said 2-3 and now it's saying 1-2, I'm also still bleeding. So I don't think it's going to stick Sad I'm so sad

So sorry OP, big hugs 💕
But your urine now could be more dilute than this morning resulting in a less positive digi. Really hope your hcg doubles on weds. Good luck xx

NameChange30 · 16/09/2019 20:39

I'm sorry OP, I have to say that with all the bleeding it doesn't sound promising but I really hope I'm wrong Flowers

lavenderlove · 16/09/2019 20:51

Thanks I really hope I'm wrong but I don't think it's looking good Sad I have a feeling I will get a BFN before Wednesday Sad

@NameChange30 thank you. My levels dropped right down and I am miscarrying unfortunately. I prepared myself for this outcome though so I'm doing ok xx
