ok, so this is unusual but dh and i have decided after 2y of ttc our second child, 5 confirmed mc's and 1 ep to have a few months off and i need help. its like giving up smoking again. i want to ttc, every fibre of my body is shouting "what if this is the month that the one sticky egg is released" i'm also very aware that i only have one tube left so my fertlity has been halved. but i also only have one tube left. i cant afford another ep. dont think i could cope with another mc and we see our specialist on the 8th oct, 7d after my ep beans edd. i think we should wait til then and i need my ttc/mn buddies support and help to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Lissie, I am so much happier the months I haven't tried. It makes such a difference ignoring twinges and not bothering peering at toilet paper! I really felt I started to get my life back, got a bit of perspective on things and even - shock horror - started to have some fun...!

So I think you're doing the right thing to give yourselves a bit of a break. Good luck with your resolve!

PinkElephant · 06/08/2007 15:21

Lissie!! Hello poppet, how are you? I haven't been on here for a while now, not since my good old chats with you and Cedar anyway. Sorry to have deserted you both but there are lot of things happening my end so have just not had the time or the spare emotions . How are you feeling and whats is happening for you? Did you say you were going to take a break from TTC?

nh101 · 06/08/2007 16:41

I am thinking of stopping TTC next month too (if my period ever arrives! CD61 now ) But how do you do that, I can't see how I will ever have anything else on my mind.

goingfor3 · 06/08/2007 16:46

Lissie good luck. I really think you are making the right decision your body needs to rest as does your mind. I know it's much easier said than done though, after my miscarriage I know I should rest for a couple of months especially as I was ill but I just can't face not trying - I hope you are stronger than me!

MrsMcJnr · 06/08/2007 17:01

Must be really hard hon but I think you are doing the right thing If I can support you in any way, please shout.

lissie · 06/08/2007 17:21

Hello Lissie,

After a year of ttc after M/c I'm joining you. I have decided to completely fill my life with other things and relax (difficult I know but I put a lot of energy into ttc so I know that I can channel it other places). I'm in the process of booking holiday and have decided to put more effort into work. I am so fed up with monitoring my symptoms and the disappointment when AF comes.

I think you are doing the right thing. You'll be all relaxed for when your appointment comes and who knows after that.

Good luck

lissie · 06/08/2007 20:24

how long will your break be for?

OP posts:
poppy75 · 06/08/2007 20:33

I'm going to try and not think about it for the next three months. DH is in a really stressful job and it finishes in three months. I think this may be part of the problem so I think it would be better to try and support him over the next three months and then have a holiday and start over.

I know it will be really difficult, but I already feel alot more relaxed about things. I'm going to drink when I want to and eat things I want and do all the things I've tried to be good at!!!

Bigs hugs to you Lissie you've been through so much hope the you can use this time to recharge

lissie · 06/08/2007 20:37

its a really liberating thought isnt it? dh and i will be able to have sex when we want to! and not have to be in the mood on days 12-15!
so we'll be thinking about ttc again around the same time!

poppy75 · 06/08/2007 20:38

Will be popping in from time to time but am trying to wean off mn for the next 3 months. I think it will make it easier, good luck Lissie will be thinking of you . Hopefully we'll start a new thread in Oct!!!!

poppy75 · 06/08/2007 20:41

Whoops missed your last message. I know it will be really strange when we're both tired I will be able to just forget it and just have when we want it not when it's the right time!!!

I feel quite energised, I think this is a good thing for me as I'm the type of person who really puts 100% into things. So I have been quite focused and because I've not wanted to appear that way I have kept alot in as DH is quite chilled about it. So it can't be good for me.

poppy75 · 06/08/2007 20:43

Here's to fun things and relaxing and I'll speak to you in Oct. Be strong

love

Poppy

See you in Oct Poppy75. It really does help to have a break It hasnt been that long for me and already I feel like the girl I was last year.

becklespeckle · 07/08/2007 13:28

FWIW I think you are totally doing the right thing Lissie. You (and your body) have been through an awful lot and it will do you good physically and mentally to have a break. A break from it all could be just what you need to recover a bit so you are ready to start again in October. I really do wish you the best of luck, you deserve it hun x

EllieG · 07/08/2007 13:52

Yey for you lissie! Am coming round to your way of thinking myself. But I don't like taking a break from MN. My DP reckons we should wait til next year, and I am beginning to see his point. We didn't think about it this month and it was really nice.

lissie · 07/08/2007 14:57

we should start a thread for ttc addicts who need to break the habit.
