BFP at CD12!

AF started 12 days ago. I did an OPK today which gave a strong (and unexpected positive - a bit too early). I had some ebay cheapo hpt so I decided to test (maybe I'm going mad, but last af was lighter than usual) and instantly bfp! Do I believe these cheapo tests? So I've bought a clearblue, but currently can't squeeze out a drop of wee. I thought having af whilst pregnant was a myth.

oh deare, that really isn't good news. i'm glad that they got you in for a scan. thing is, it's actually really common for eps to occur with women thinking they have had their period. it might be bleeding from the tube, it might be that the hcg levels are at that point so low that the lining of the womb sheds as if it were a period but meanwhile the pregnancy slowly continues elsewhere. i'm sorry you're in this horrible bit of not knowing, it's awful. i hope it's the cyst, i've read about them giving false positives as well.

exactly aitch, thats what happened with me and coz my hcg levels were actually doubling they didnt pick it up til things got v serious. hope that its not that tho!

Just got my HCG result. It was 964 which they thought was ok. I'm having it measured again on Thursday. It's possible I'm not quite as far on as I thought I was. I don't have much hope though - it still doesn't explain the bleeding 2 weeks ago.

fingers crossed. the one figure doesn't tell us much in isolation, so we'll hope like hell for a good doubling or so in two days time. who knows? maybe the bleeding could have been a towering great syst bursting that you didn't have a clue about. meantime, any more bleeding or pain, particularly pain in the tip of your shoulder, and get on to the doc straight away.

So my HCG has gone from 964 to 1680 (or possibly 1608 - I'm so stressed I wasn't listening properly) in 48 hours. Does anyone know if this indicates ectopic or normal pregnancy? I'm being scanned again tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll know then.

jess, HCG levels tend to double in 48hrs, they have gone up quite a bit so its not terrible, but (and im loathe to say it) its not great. Aitch is probably a better person to speak to, what time is your scan?
