Sorry to keep you all waiting all went well 12 eggs collected all of which look good. Also dh had super sperm today, its amazing what giving up a few fags a eating better can do for your sperm. They are going to ring me and let me know how many fertilise tomorrow morning they expect about 60%. Because of my age (I am 28) and I have been pg before they are only going to put back only 1 embryo on wednesday. With about a 45-50% of it being successful. They are going to talk to me on wednesday about freezing the rest.
The general anesthetic was fine I had a nice snooze its a bit uncomfortable now but not to bad. I thought I was going to pop yesterday I was so bloated and uncomfortable so it was a bit of a relief to get today over with.Lno I hope no new is good news and your scan went ok.

when you say about your dh sperm........ do they keep testing it ??????? will my dh have to have several tests on his sperm????? I just he went in the same day as our donor and produces a sample for the fertilisation, but it sounds like that this is not so???????

By the way can you tell me the answer to me previous question (sorry to be a pain!... but would love to know>........... a general anaesetic????? I thought egg retrieval was done under light sedation?

They tested dh sperm about a month before our first ivf app on the nhs came back crap had previosly been ok. When we had are first app they wanted to do some different test which the nhs didnt do and it had improved loads. Then they check it ok on the day.
I think it depends on your clinic whether they offer a general. Is it a hospital or clinic if it just a clinic they might not have enough medical cover etc. Its fine under sedation when I was a student nurse I saw a lady have done this way and it seemed fine. Check with your clinic. I hope you are ok lno.

Hi Great news Cedar and heres keeping fingers x for good fertilisation.

Had my scan today - 4 good eggs and a few small ones so they want to proceed as dear consultant reckons Im lucky to have these (Im a little older than you cedar so eggs are not so plentiful . They are now focusing on quality and will have another scan on Wed.

Tempi, my clinic does GA too - personally I prefer this to sedation.

Sounds like good news LNO. Will you have your egg collection next week?
Clinic phoned me this morning 9 eggs have fertilised 4 look really good, 2 look a bit fainter what every that means, and the remaining 3 the nucleus look a bit smaller so not sure if they will carry on and divide. But we will find out for sure tomorrow my egg transfer is at 8.30.

I have a family wedding this Saturday..... do I need to stay of the booze altogether or can I have a few glasses of champagne????? (I don't drink alot, but it is a wedding and I'd love a couples of glasses!) ?????????????

Hope all went alright for you and donor Tempi. Best to ask at the dr about the drink, I didnt have any but I am sure 1-2 glasses would be ok. Had the egg transfer this morning all ok they put two back in the end as they dont think any of the others will be up to freezing. So heres hope 1 or2 of them sticks. I have been feeling really crappy since egg collection very bloated and quite painful, the clinic says I need to rest more so my mums got dd today and tomorrow. Took her to a ball pit yesterday probably not a good idea although I did just sit and watched and eat cake! I think part of the problem is constipation from the pessarys just to warn you all . Any way feel a bit better now I have done a poo(sorry tmi)
The cllinic said they will scan me on friday if I am still in pain.

We had our injection yesterday and we wait now for 2 weeks.... I thought it would be daily drugs or nasal spray..... but it is just 1 injection.

Has anyone had one of these and did you get menopause symptoms????? I think it was call PROSTAP.

Cedar is the pain from them transfering?? is this usual????

Hi all, well I have had an awful couple of days pain continued on wednesday ended up in hospital on wed afternoon. By the evening I was climbing the wall the pain was so bad first they thought it was hyperstimulation but it turn out to be an infection probably from the egg collection Had an awful night on wednesday felt a bit better after a few dose of morphine but even that didint completly work to take the pain away. Then I ended up fainting and ended up under the table by my bed at 5 in the morning! The next morning felt a lot better as they had given me some iv antibiotics over night. Came home last night still on antiobiotics but pain ok with just paracetamol. dd really upset about me being in hospital. My consultant asured me that the infection could get in the womb so shouldnt affect any thing so fingers crossed. Hope you are all do better than me.

Dear Cedar, this all sounds so terrible! you poor thing - to go on morphine must have been bad. Lets hope the infection clears up and you show a BFP at the end of it all.

Well I had egg retrieval today, only 2 eggs so not looking hopeful and dreading tomorrow's phone call from the clinic. So spending the night willing little eggs and sperm to do their trick...it's sooooo tough isnt it.

well just heard from the clinic and the two eggs as expected did not fertilise so we are back to the drawing board again.

Wish both tempi and cedar well in this cycle and will keep dropping in from time to time to see how you both are.

So sorry LNO I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. Keep in touch and look after your self.
Feeling ok today just very tired I just hope this hasnt affect my chances. Drs say it shouldnt at all as they hit it on the head quickly and its very unlikely to get in the womb apparently it has to be very bad for a while for this to happen. My inflamitory marks werent really raised but were raised, they think my pain was so bad because of the infection and bruising from egg collection made it worse. I hope you have a nice weekend Tempi.

You have probably hit the nail on the head......'back to the drawing board' ! You will probably have some time off form all this and you will come back a stronger person. There are still some good options out there honey.... just take your time and decide which one is for you.

Cedar....sorry about all your pain and infection..... like the DOC says.. they have caught it very early and this is a good sign. Keep us updated and whats happening!

I had a fab weekend at my family wedding, just had a couple of glasses of wine and am still feeling ok! no different really and its been 6 days since my PROSTAP injection.

All feels a bit strange... can't really believe its all happening! Trying to keep positive.

I am still in the early stages my transfer wont be until around 24th 25th Sept!???? may be earlier depending on a thousand things!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe there is only 2 of us that are doing IVF this month!
