Just wondering how many of us are out there?? and is it worth starting a thread?

I have a feeling we will all need the support!

Morning everyone, as acinonyx said the burserelin is to supress. Makes you menopausal for a couple of weeks hot flushes and everything and gave me mega pmt. I feel a lot better since reducing it. Not sure about success rates over 40 but the clinic I am at in Woking has great over all success, best outside of London I think.

acinonyx...thanks not sure what all these drugs are that you are all taking about??????? I guess burserlin is the surpressant???and I guess everyone reacts differently to it???? is this in tablet form or is it nasal spray...do you get a choice??????

This donor egg business.....was never a problem for me and I didn't even think twice!!...I know everybody is different....but I beleive 150% that if its your DH or DP sperm and your uterus......then to me this is 150% yours. But I fully appreciate that not everyone thinks like this. My consultant has given me a 40% chance.

Sorry to be a pain, but are the drugs tablets ot nasal spray....I am not good with nasal sprays!

It's a nasal spray - the alternative is a subcutaneous injection. The injections are no big deal (that's how you take your stims - which you won't need but your donor will take) and I did it that way the first time. The advantage to me (of the injections) is that you really know you have done it right whereas with the spray you always wonder.

I'm not comfortable with doing donor myself. I am an adoptee, and I am not comfortable with the position of the donor child. I'm not against it (unless the child is not told) but I don't feel I could do it myself. I would be more likely to adopt (although I have felt very anxious about that option). I wish you well, Jill

Time is a big thing for us. We have been TTC for 3 years and adoption takes 2 years...so this is of putting, but believe in it and feel its a fantastic thing to do!!!

Don't mind the sound of the injections as they are subcutaneous arn't they?

latenightowl and cedar..........when do you get your retrieval date???????does it depend of scans?????????and how you react to drugs or do they just give you a date..... just asking on behalf of my donor.

Do I take surpressant drugs for 2 weeks then stop these and start taking pregesterone to line my uterus ready for transfere??????

Hi Tempi, it all depends! your donor should be scanned practically every other day to see how the follicles are growing and how many (this can then help them with drug dosage). Then depending on your womb lining depth and the size of her follies will determine EC and ET. Depending on the quality of the eggs and the number fertilised and condition - will determine the number of days between her eggs being taken out and then being put back into you. So it really is all about timing and ensuring the drugs are doing the right business.....no wonder I have never got a BFP - my timing is always pretty crap - always late for meetings

It all depends on my scans next week. if all goes to plan the monday after that will be the big day. Both the burselin and gonal f are injections for me. Still taking burselin as well at a reduced dose not sure why forgot to ask. Hope your all ok today I am a bit frazzled been at the beach all day with dd all day.

wish I had been at the beach all day! Had to help MIL with a WI coffee morning at her house raising money for the church pue (not right spelling!) embroidered cushions!!!!!!!!

Hi folks, well back from my first blood test and scan - not fab news, FSH has gone up to 11.6 and only 4 follies on day 3. So I start the injections today and will go back next monday to decide if we will continue with this cycle.

Cedar, how did your scan go? Hope it is better news than mine!

Tempi, cant help you with your query cos they dont really shut me down, I take 2 injections this weekend to stop me ovulating and I will then be scaned every other day if I continue with the cycle up to EC.

LNO sorry about your scan results I hope the injections help would they stimulate things more? fingers crossed for next monday.
Tempi when they shut me down I only had one scan which was when they checked the ovaries were quiet and the lining of the womb was thin. I had my scan yesterday good news i have got 13 follicles and the womb lining is already thick. I have got to be scanned tomorrow and friday to check everything cotinues ok.

I am having lots of thoughts about my up and coming IVF.....hope this is normal

Hi Cedar, wishing you well for your scans and look forward to your news.

Im getting nervous about scan on monday already... I don't feel so bloated as last time and havent put on any weight although it could be cos I put on enough last time and didnt manage to lose it . But seriously, Im worried that maybe the drugs arent working this time...Im on 600iu of gonal-f and then from tomorrow 450iu plus another hormone drug to stop me ovulating.
no doubt all will be revealed on Monday and DP is coming with me this time which will be nice cos felt really vunerable sitting in waiting room with lots of other poor couples last week and I was by myself (kept texting DP to make me feel better)

Tempi - no doubt you are starting to feel a little nervous and also excited all at the same time - dont worry this is natural and doesnt leave you til you do your preg test.

Lno keeping everything crossed for you for Monday, try and enjoy your weekend. I have put on half a stone since starting the ivf and could have done with loosing a bit before that. I am glad dp is going with you this time. Egg collections on Monday for me having it done under general which I am getting a bit panicky about. My biggest follicle was 21 on Friday.
Tempi i think we all get nervous don't worry you are normal

All the best Cedar for your egg collection tomorrow. I had mine done by general and it was over in no time - nice nap too! I must admit I prefer not to know what they are doing to me keeping fingers x.
