Thank you, we shall see ) At the end of the day, we are lucky to have DS. If IVF fails, well, at least we will have tried.

Aitch · 27/07/2007 23:40

the best of luck, you can only give it your best shot really.

Please, no apologies needed! We don't all come through the other side of EP and have babies. I'd love to have a magic wand that would make that the case, but this is life and sometimes life doesn't go as planned. It is a fact that most women will go on to have successful pregnancies after EP... but there is that small percentage that doesn't, or that has to fight hard to win. I'm always up for the challenge. Boxing gloves are being polished over the next few months. Enjoying not being on a ttc circuit, drinking what we like, doing what we want (within reason - don't want to stuff up our bodies completely LOL), and then when the time is right we'll toe the line and see what IVF brings. Eeek.

Anyway, back to Violet. Will she have a textbook pregnancy, no early twinges, stretching ligaments. Will she still be doing long jump at 24 weeks and parachuting at 35? These are burning questions. The nation needs to know!
Tongue firmly in cheek of course

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:42

everything crossed. when are you starting ivf?

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:43

ooh of course. she will start to show at 8w and never have to wear dungarees or get piles. she wont camp out at epu with every twinge/kick/discharge and will give birth on xmas day to a 10lb talking baby.

I should think in 2008, although DH was originally saying sooner. Tackling a few other things first, and I'd like some time to adjust, to be us, to do our research and prepare, go in with eyes as wide open as possible.

Aitch · 27/07/2007 23:44

she'll give birth in about four months, if sky mangel's soap pregnancy was anything to go by...

JillJ72 · 27/07/2007 23:49

Maybe mumsnetters should write the storyline. It'd make a whole lot more sense and would be beyond the wildest dreams of any scriptwriter, I am sure.

Anyway, I am off for the night. I rarely post here, but I just wanted to say to you, Lissie, that I hope things go as you would like. You've suffered a lot in such a short space of time. And Aitch - you're a fount of knowledge.

Night night x

sleep well, jill.

Just wanted to say, the bitterness does ease with time. I'm not going to tell you that it goes away completely, becasue it doesn't, but it does ease.
I had my first ectopic five years ago, which also resulted in loosing most of a tube. Only 7 months later it happened all over again and sadly lost the other tube completely. Unfortunely, I was 36 at the time and really couldn't have coped with IVF at the time and of course time was not on my side either. We decided after much discussion that we would take our first dd, who is now 11 as our one & only and be very grateful for that.
At the time, every programme that related to pregnancy or ectopics, and there was a lot about due to Dutchess of York, bothered me greatly. I was so bitter and fed up with the portrail, I would sometimes scream at the TV. But over time it got easier. I am fed up with the whole Corrie thing atm, but not as much as I was 5 years ago.
However your situations turn out, I wish you all lots of luck and know that you will always have MN to let off steam!
