I knew there would be a message about this!!!

She has just had a scan at 3 weeks and seen a heartbeat. That's surely not right.

I genuinely feel jealous.

Why did I pick a hetrosexual man to try and get me pregnant the usual way...how foolish of me. If only I'd known a couple of shots with a turkey baster and I'd be sorted I would have made a different choice.

lissie · 27/07/2007 21:56

lol, i know. she's what? 5w since lmp? i want the soap script-writers to rewrite my life!

And all that him offering and oh I'm ovulating today shite.

FGS

I ranted to my MIL about it - that's how bad it is.

If I wasn't so sad I would stop watching corrie on principal....instead I think I'll just Sky+ it and fast forward through Violet.

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:04

lol, i ranted to MiL about it too. do your research corrie!

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:06

i mean, we didnt even see her charting, checking dates etc.... all those things most women do.

wish soaps would do a realistic fertility storyline.

plus, she got a scan straight away. i was told to wait til i was 6/7w, so they could see something!

Hi

Didn't watch tonights as I was working, guess it was more far fetched than Wednesdays

Keep smiling girls and don't let the buggers get you down

TTM x x

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:20

it was ridiculous!

OP posts:
wibbles · 27/07/2007 22:27

Sorry gotta go...going to start a "looking for homosexual with turkey baster" thread.

You just watch there'll be a BFP heading my way in about 3 days and a scan in about 5 days.

Watch this space........

toytownmum · 27/07/2007 22:28

Its the same as Holby city when they have shown patients having c-section by GA and they are sat up within 30 mins. DS1 was born by emergency c-section under GA, there was no way I could talk sense let alone sit up within 30 mins!!!

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:29

and you can wear white jeans straight after!

OP posts:
Aitch · 27/07/2007 22:31

it really hurts, doesn't it? which is, you'd have to admit, crackers... because it's made-up. but it still hurts. weird.

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:32

i know aitch. im just so outraged tho!!! they messed up the PND storyline... now this...

but i refuse to be jealous of a fictional character.

unless its Scarlett O'Hara.

OP posts:
toytownmum · 27/07/2007 22:33

AND.... the babies seem to sleep through from day 1, how true to life is that...NOT

Aitch · 27/07/2007 22:54

it does suck... i know the EPT did their best to advise but, meh, they've obviously been ignored. it's not as bad as it might have been, apparently the docs were going to tell her she was infertile and her ectopic was due to her being promiscuous when she was younger. the EPT hit the roof! mind you, just after i had my first there was an episode of Casualty where exactly that happened. some poor woman had an EP because her boyfriend had been shagging around... bollocks.

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:58

aitch!

OP posts:
Aitch · 27/07/2007 23:05

true story. all i could think was 'oh fuck i hope no-one i know is watching this...'

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:11

ffs, its bad enough that you have to go thru yor sexual history with the docs....

OP posts:
Aitch · 27/07/2007 23:13

so this is why you must ignore tv on this matter, lissie... you'll go round the twist if you don't.

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:15

i know, i know!

my MiL got a right earful though

OP posts:
toytownmum · 27/07/2007 23:22

Lissie.
I agree with Aitch. You MUST ignore the crap writers of TV shows. They do it purely for ratings, sometimes with ignorance to real life.

JillJ72 · 27/07/2007 23:24

I didn't watch it but yes, there are rumblings of discontent on the net tonight, and no bloomin' wonder! It's all sensational TV viewing. I just can't for the life of me see how this is going to help those of us who've had ectopics have the cause furthered in the right way. Not everyone conceives "just like that" after EP, and there are very few women I've seen post-EP that haven't temped or charted, checked cm, got hopes up, felt depressed, worried about every ache, niggle and twinge.
I can't conceive any more because there's a fair chance the EP surgery helped stuff the remaining tube but that's not good viewing, is it? Not all stories have the ending we want! What crass TV. If you're going to do it, do it right - listen to the EPT properly. If you're not, well, grrr

sorry to hear that your fertility is under question, jill. that sucks.

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:28

and too

JillJ72 · 27/07/2007 23:30

Sadly there is no question about my fertility - the tube is blocked. Consultant had some doubts at the time of surgery; expected it to be blocked but not in the way we saw. Our next stop is IVF, but not just yet, time to adjust and all that, we found out a month ago.
