Not testing until July

Anyone want some support in holding off with taking pregnancy tests?

My AF is due Tuesday 25th June but I will hold off on testing for two reasons... To avoid disappointment, and also because I have probably got a job interview the following week so would prefer to focus on that before finding out.

To anyone who joins... When is your AF due? And when will you test?

I will probably test on 1st July if no AF has shown up by then.

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling/upset... I can feel myself starting to get grouchy & irritable. I know it's all down to the TWW. I have 4 days until AF is due (altho FF says 2 days?!) and I have zero symptoms of AF or pg. Had a bit of a stabbing pain & then dull ache down low yesterday but that's it. I think getting through the next few days and go monday is going to be a massive struggle! I just want to know!!!

On the flip side tho last month I tested at 11dpo & the result wasn't clear which tortured me more & resulted in me buying several brand of tests to basically confirm a negative result. What a wally! X

ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 20:19

@mumof1hants this is what's spurring me on... I like looking at photos of other people's squinters but it's no fun when it's my own. I'd rather wait until it will show up clear as day, if I can be patient enough! I feel like I have to wait until Monday since I stated this thread but am quite tempted to test at the weekend so I don't have to go to work straight after. I'm already talking myself out of being patient now!!

mumof1hants · 25/06/2019 20:25

@ChikiTIKI I'm exactly the same! I'm 14/15dpo on Sunday so easily enough to get a true result... I will try and wait it out but we'll see! What will u be? Just cos u started a thread doesn't mean it's a crime to do it before... we're all on the TTC journey together and totally understand the strains and challenges! X

ChikiTIKI · 25/06/2019 20:37

Don't tempt me @mumof1hants !!! :)
I believe AF was due today, if in line with my last two cycles which were each 30 days. So would be4/5 days late at the weekend.

I always do tests on my own without telling DH first. I could test on Saturday morning while he is at work then spend the morning coming up with a fun way to tell him (if it's positive) or break tradition and have him be there and do it on Sunday morning.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if it's positive. I got pregnant with our DD on the first month of trying but this time we are a year in to trying and I had a MC in December. I would love to put her in a "big sister" tshirt and wait for him to notice! Or maybe that's too ambitious to find at short notice. Could do it later on when we tell family I suppose.

Aah the TWW is very clearly getting to me!!!! Xxxx

Still no AF.... Don't remember having any weird dreams last night though :(

How are you feeling, @ChikiTIKI?

I was really tempted to test today, even thought I've promised myself that I'll wait until Monday (AF due Wednesday). My boobs feel really big today, and I've been exhausted. Just woke up from a two-hour nap (thankfully working from home at the moment).

ChikiTIKI · 26/06/2019 19:13

I'm alright thanks @Bezalelle I am jealous of your nap :) had awful heartburn and feeling rubbish this afternoon again, had the same yesterday. I swear my boobs feel different. They always hurt before AF but this feels different.

No idea what to think though. AF could show up any time I suppose.

Going to have some chocolate tonight :) DH is going to the shop. Think I will ask for chocolate rather than a pregnancy test!

That's good you're working from home. Commuting and being around other people is not fun when you're tired! Xxxx

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:24

Enjoy your chocolate @ChikiTIKI!

I've been ravenous today. Literally eating all the food. Still 8 days until AF is due, but feeling moody, bloaty, and hungry. Really hope it's not AF making a surprise early appearance. I'm usually regular as clockwork so this is unlikely.

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:26

I'm struggling today. Convinced AF is on her way... I don't even really know why. Had a few cramps this morn but they went... x

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:41

When is AF due, @mumof1hants?

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:44

@Bezalelle well the apps I use say anytime between tomorrow & Sunday but I think more likely monday... I've convinced myself it'll be bad news for some reason x

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 20:52

@mumof1hants could you take a test, to put your mind at rest one way or another? I think they work several days before AF is due xx

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 20:57

I'm not sure I can face bfn though... I'm torn really. And then I'd be wondering if the result was correct. Basically need to ride out the next few days I guess x

mrssunshinexxx · 26/06/2019 20:59

Please can I join

Af due sat going to test 1st July hope we get lots of bfp on this thread

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 21:02

@mumof1hants totally understand. Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know!)

I'm going to test on Monday, so we could be testing buddies if you can hold out until then! You could joing too, @mrssunshinexxx. Welcome!

Bezalelle · 26/06/2019 21:03

*join not joing

mumof1hants · 26/06/2019 21:11

ChikiTIKI · 27/06/2019 07:03

Sorry you're feeling that way @mumof1hants
Lots of people feel like AF is on her way when they get a BFP. Got my fingers crossed for you xxxx

Morning all!

How's everyone feeling?

I'm feeling quite nauseous, and have a sort of 'stitch' feeling in my lower belly on the right.

Still planning to test on Monday. The tests are in my desk drawer as we speak...

mrssunshinexxx · 27/06/2019 07:29

@ChikiTIKI in my head I probably do but in reality probably not I keep thinking I feel like I have butterflies

Been really faint this week too (I am anaemic tho )

I'm trying not to stress because apparently it's pretty rare to get actual symptoms before you test

Want Sunday to hurry up and af not to come I think I'll cry if af comes :(

Skyla01 · 27/06/2019 07:44

Hi ladies, glad we're mostly resisting the urge to test! It really isn't long until Monday, hope everyone has fun weekend plans to distract them! I might join you in testing on Monday, but since I'm having a long irregular cycle just now I have no idea when AF is due so might leave it longer. I prefer to have a wee glimmer of hope rather than a horrible bfn!

Twitwooo · 27/06/2019 09:52

Hello everyone,

I was trying to keep myself off 2ww threads and the like to try and take it easy this time around and be more chill about the prospect of pregnancy following a miscarriage in January. But when I saw @ChikiTIKI s name on this I thought it must be a sign (your messages on the miscarriage thread helped me a lot - thank you once again) so here I am.

Af due July 3rd, don't want to test until then at the very earliest. Just see if af comes or not.

We're technically not trying yet - supposed to wait until August, but I put the blame on my birthday followed by Father's Day 🙊. And the fact that if I am pregnant the due date will be a day off what it was when I was pregnant with my dd! We may have caught ovulation in the nick of time or have just missed it. Fine either way!

In terms of symptom spotting, I really am trying my best not to - there are a few changes I am noticing but generally trying to tell myself it could be anything. I don't actually know what it's like to not have symptoms as I got pregnant on the first cycle with my dd and mc so telling myself it will be a refreshing change to perhaps not get it this time around. Or maybe that's just me being a bit apprehensive...

Wishing everyone great restraint! Lock your tests away!

Bezalelle · 27/06/2019 12:49

Welcome, @Twitwooo! My tests are safely stashed in my desk drawer Grin

Working from home is a blessing and a curse. It's nice because I've been knackered, so I can take naps. But it also gives me plenty of time alone to convince myself that every twinge means i'm pg! Argh.

ChikiTIKI · 27/06/2019 17:38

Hi @Twitwooo !! How are you?? Hope you're doing alright and recovered well from your MC. Good to hear from you again. I hope it's a BFP for you this month :)

I thought I was recovering well from my MC at first, I had a period 2 weeks after finally getting a BFN which was about a month since the MC started, but then my cycles were about 2 weeks long, I had 5 periods in 7 weeks and it nearly broke me! And was so physically and mentally exhausted!! I kept thinking I was about to ovulate and then AF showed up. I convinced myself the MC had left me infertile. Had a couple of 30 day cycles since then though and now on the third one, on CD 32.

How suspicious is everyone that they might be pregnant? I am 8/10 suspicious but my husband is only 5/10 suspicious lol. I feel quite convinced this time but I probably always am. Exciting to not have AF yet though!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine! Xxxx
