Hey everyone!

Starting this thread as I'm on cycle 2. TTC 1st time and I know many others have been sharing their experiences too.

Would love to keep this thread open for anyone to share tips on conceiving from vitamins to take, foods to eat, things to look out for etc... any strategies/ideas are welcome!
My first question: what are your thoughts on Pregnacare'?

Thanks all Smile

You just need an egg white and a device to get the egg white in there. A plastic medicine applicator or syringe, like the ones for pets or those that come with Calpol will do.
Whip up the egg white a bit before you put it in. You won't need a whole egg white in there. You may also need a couple of glasses of wine first because it is slightly weird and disgusting.
Online advice usually tells you to use a free range organic egg.

I used to know my cycle and get ovulation pains so I timed this right too.
I TTC for 6 - 8 months or so before I discovered the egg white method, then I was pregnant every time I wanted to be after that.

I'm taking pregnacare (makes me feel quite nauseous on and off though). Just taking it for the vitamins though, is there the suggestion that they might actually help to conceive? DH is taking the well man stuff but just started so probably won't have any impact for a few months.

wineandcatsandlego · 03/06/2019 17:36

I couldn't tell you what's in it unfortunately @seli3025 so wouldn't know if you'd be sensitive to it. We bought it from Amazon and were amazed we conceived as quickly as we did after 6 years or so on the patch with no pregnancy scares etc despite a few occasions of it coming off etc. I wouldn't even know where to begin with all the ovulation calculations so if we were in the same boat I'd definitely be watching this thread with interest!!

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 18:47

@surgery246

Never knew this either! Thanks for sharing this important fact on this thread! I'm sure this will be handy to know for many of us one here 👍😁

@Bluerussian oh completely! I know I have many opportunities to come and it's all very exciting! Created this thread for everyone I guess and to see what others do out of interest.

For me and DP we've just come back from a lovely holiday! So I guess a long relaxing weekend could be on the cards 😋😉

You're so right about relaxing. Thank you ☺️

@FaFoutis wow that's amazing! Sounds
incredibly gross haha and definitely agree on the wines beforehand 😂😂 but it's great that that method worked a treat for you!! Thanks for sharing!

See how I get on and you never know may crack open an egg 👍😋

@Ohana6419 thanks for sharing you're the second person on this thread to mention nausea after taking that! You'll have to keep us posted on how you get on and how your DH does too! Glad my DP is taking it seriously and looking up things to eat etc too 👍😁

@wineandcatsandlego thanks for sharing that! I'll look into it for sure! Great news that it worked for you both 😁😁

We used preseed lubricant and I also used cheap OPKS most days. I got pregnant after 2 months.

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 19:22

@qj17
Thanks for sharing. Just looked that up it's quite on the pricey side! Is it just enough for one use or does it last a few uses? How many times did you use it on your 2nd month?

👍😁

Stargirl90 · 03/06/2019 19:31

We conceived our first baby on the 6th month of trying, that month I took spearmint capsules (I'm overweight and have high testosterone, they have testosterone reducing properties) and I also used castor oil packs (a pillowcase covered in castor oil laid on lower stomach for an hour a few times a week, with a towel and hot water bottle on top of it, supposed to help get the blood flowing in fallopian tubes and unblock them. Can use the pack right up to oviulation then stop
I fell pregnant that month 😃

Jemima232 · 03/06/2019 19:32

How about just having sex frequently and binning the supplements?

You know, the old-fashioned way?

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 19:43

@Stargirl90 that's good to know glad this worked for you! Thanks for sharing Smile

@Carley321 join us 😁

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 19:47

@Jemima232 haha of course. I know this month round I'm going to just chill out and DTD as often as we can without fixating so much on just peak days! I'm very sceptical about supplements... I'm not good with taking tablets for a headache let alone this! But I guess for some people who have struggled to conceive some ideas on this thread may help them ☺️

qj17 · 03/06/2019 20:04

We used it maybe 5 times I still have half a tube left.

Lulumush · 03/06/2019 20:07

That stuff is magic!! Recommended by my local healthfood shop who swears every woman who takes it gets preggers!

Jemima232 · 03/06/2019 20:10

You know, in all seriousness, I got pregnant 15 times and used no supplements whatsoever.

(I did have a lot of miscarriages.)

Four of those pregnancies became my children.

I took my temperature daily so that I knew when I was ovulating. I also checked my cervical mucus.

I used this method as an aid to contraception when we weren't TTC.

I became pregnant within two cycles, every time. I don't trust OPKs, personally. Knowing your own body is the easiest method.

I didn't bother with pregnancy tests either. If my temperature remained high after my luteal phase I knew that I was pregnant.

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 20:19

@Jemima232 wow thanks for sharing. So sorry about your mcs! But wonderful news on having 4 children 😁

I'm glad I have a fertility app really helps me keep on track. Didn't know that about temperature I'll keep an eye on that!

I know this time round I'm not going to bother with buying tests and driving my self mad after ovulation. Just going to wait and see! It's all very exciting.

Seli3025 · 03/06/2019 20:22

@qj17 ah okay so you get a lot of use out of it that's good!

@Lulumush thanks for sharing! Great to know it's recommended at a health food store 👍👍

I took pregnecare as did dh, I ate pineapple (including the core) for 5days pre ovulation, I ate Brazil nuts, we dtd every other day. Opk'd with cheap sticks daily. Was pregnant 3 times in one year with ending with ds 😍 took around 7months to get a successful pregnancy. Also took a baby aspirin every day too which I contribute to a successful pregnancy.

We're starting to think about ttc so will start pregnicare again soon and have been using opk's so I can track my cycle on Ovia again. Will do the same as I did last time as it worked for me 😀.

For those interested first mc was Mmc at 12 weeks, fell again the next cycle lost at 6/7 weeks fell again the cycle after that I think.

Tigger83 · 03/06/2019 20:48

Oh I also took vit d, calcium, magnesium, fish oil and something else!!

EdWinchester · 03/06/2019 20:55

Have you ever seen footage of a woman's cervix after orgasm?

The uterine contractions make the cervix dip in and up and scoop up sperm.

For me, orgasming after my dh (and maybe before but that's irrelevant) was the golden ticket every time.

Carley321 · 04/06/2019 06:43

Hi @seli3025 thank you for starting the thread. I think this pre-seed maybe on the cards.

Been ttc for a year now with no success. I do suffer with anxiety which probably doesn’t help because I become so obsessive with it. But I’m feeling positive for month 13 🤞.

Thanks for all the tips ladies. I hope they keep coming!
