I swear I can see a second, very very pale line on this FRER. I'm 13 DPO today, AF due on Wednesday. What do you think? Have I got line eyes?

@Squiff70 I see it.

Got my fingers and toes crossed for you 🤞🏻

purplefig · 20/05/2019 17:31

I'm so sorry to hear about your twins, that must have been utterly heartbreaking. For what it's worth, I'm normally awful at spotting faint lines and I can see yours. Fingers crossed you test on a FRER in a few days and get a nice obvious line. Take care of yourself.

Louise190 · 20/05/2019 18:56

@Squiff70 I see it!!!!

Sunflower2019 · 20/05/2019 19:00

Looks positive to me! Good luck :)

Squiff70 · 20/05/2019 20:19

Thank you everyone, and thank you @purplefig for your kind words - it has been very hard. I don't believe the test just yet though, I'm worried it could be a chemical or something, but we'll see.

Morning, did another FRER this morning and the line is definitely no stronger than yesterday's. My period is due tomorrow so I'm worried.

Sorry to hear that it's not a more positive update @Squiff70

I had something similar last month with faint lines on a FRERs. I had a lot of issues with retained products following a miscarriage earlier in the year so after a couple of days when I realised the lines weren't getting any darker I worried this might be a factor. I had a scan and a blood test which was all clear and my HCG level was 2 so definitely not pregnant (not even a chemical!)

These faint lines can cause so much stress and heartache, personally I will be avoiding FRERs going forward and wouldn't trust a line unless it's a strong one.

VenusStarr · 21/05/2019 09:31

Sorry to hear that @Squiff70. Maybe if af doesn't arrive you could test again on Friday.

Squiff70 · 21/05/2019 14:54

Thank you both :(

I've just done another HPT (internet cheapie) and no hint of a second line so I don't think I'm pregnant at all. Devastated. I thought FRERs were amongst the most reliable.

Aw Squiff everything crossed for you. I can definitely see it. Take care x

ThePerturbedPenguin · 21/05/2019 15:00

Sorry.. You never know, see if AF arrives and test again in the next few days.

purplefig · 21/05/2019 16:11

@Squiff70 I'm so sorry to read your update. I thought FRERs were supposed to be the gold standard too - I can 100% see a line in your original pic. The line not getting darker isn't necessarily a worry at this stage, as don't they say it takes 48 for HCG to double, so you wouldn't expect a darker line 1 day later. And I would say that IC are notoriously rubbish.

If AF doesn't come, what about testing with a digital? No interpreting to do that way. Big hugs. Also if you are actively TTC again and want some support, there's a great group of ladies on this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3580537-TTC-1st-Baby-Thread-17 xxx

Squiff70 · 21/05/2019 18:29

Thanks everyone. To kick me whilst I'm down, it seems I have period pain now too. I think this is/was a chemical. I'll not test again and wait for AF now. I'll update this thread later. Feeling very very low ATM as I ost twins at 19 weeks in January then had a chemical in March. I can't face another loss.

@Squiff70 I'm so sorry. You're completely entitled to feel fed up and sad and full of rage, it's really, really, really fucking unfair. Have you been to see the doctors / fertility specialists about these issues? In the meantime, can you make some plans with your partner/friends/family to try and distract you? Or do activities that make you feel good and have nothing to do with TTC? Alternatively, I reckon you're more than entitled to sit on the sofa with a bottle of wine and the biggest slab of chocolate you can find. Whatever gets you through.Thinking of you xxx

Sexnotgender · 21/05/2019 18:36

I’m so sorry. Be kind to yourself, you’ve had a terrible time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you x

Nicecupofcoco · 21/05/2019 18:41

I'm so sorry op! Flowers
I hope you soon get the positive test you so deserve! I'm so sorry for the loss of your twins, and chemical pregnancy! Life can be very unfair!
Keeping everything crossed for you!

loopylou27 · 22/05/2019 08:14

Test again this morning on a frer you're not out till your period shows good luck ♥️

Squiff70 · 22/05/2019 17:42

I did a HPT this morning (a pink-dye test, not a FRER) and it was a BFN. Period is due today. Gtoing to have a hiatus from tsting for a day or two and see what happens. I've spent the last two days crying and am sick of being dealt one blow after another.

purplefig · 22/05/2019 17:48

@Squiff70 so sorry, you take all the time you need.

Squiff70 · 23/05/2019 15:19

AF has shown up this afternoon. At least I know now as I was in limbo. Thanks everyone for your kindness x

Sorry to hear that @Squiff70 hugs x

Hmmmminteresting · 24/05/2019 08:20

Really sorry to see your update OP
It looks like this was definitely a chemical as thise tests did have lines, albeit not strong but clearly some hormone was detected but then AF has shown up.
It's heartbreaking as I've been there, and it was my mum who in the end convinced me to stop testing.
'Back in her day' chemical pregnancies didn't exist as they didn't know they were pregnant till a blood test at the drs confirmed it and a scan at 3 months. It wasn't possible to find out if you were pregnant before period was due so if it was a chemical they never knew.
I know it's hard but maybe they holding off testing until your period is late?
Look after yourself x
