@Keyboard91 sorry to hear your sad news.

I've enjoyed the bank holiday, lots of drinking! Planning to have a few weeks off drinking now (mostly so I can lose a few lbs!) And obv if I get a BFP I'll be off it for a bit longer anyway, so might as well get some practice in!

Dollywilde · 22/04/2019 21:23

@keyboard91 so sorry to hear what you’ve been through.

Symptom spotting through the roof for me today - tender nipples (tmi - to the extent I batted DH off them this morning), mood swings and very light cramps at 9dpo, 5 days before AF due.

DH and I have promised to not test until Sunday. Have my birthday to distract me at least!

Hope everyone has had their last boozy bank hol for a while Wink 🤞🏻

starkid · 22/04/2019 21:51

@Keyboard91 - poor you, what a rollercoaster! What cycle number would you like me to put down on the stats list, if you'd like to be added next time?

FlapJackered · 22/04/2019 21:53

@Keyboard91 So sorry to hear about your mc. It is so heartbreaking so take all the time you need. ❤️

Thanks @Crossfitgirl sorry for the rant! Just had one of those days. ❤️

Thanks @KatBeCool When I questioned the doctors they said it is 2 years if you're under 35 to be referred to a fertility clinic, they did the bloods after (what they thought was) a year, and they have come back fine as far as they said. Although my gp is definitely not an expert in fertility so I do wonder if they were actually ok. 😕 I know I got pregnant which is positive but it does feel a bit like that was some miracle fluke and it just makes me even more desperate to get pregnant again.
Good tip re the Soy, I will make sure I mention it. I hope you're ok and managed to take advantage of the positive opk?

@ValidUser I know right! Apparently for under 35 it's two years. I am going to make a scene at my next appointment 🤞🏻

Thanks @LokiCat that is reassuring. It's just so hard waiting for ovulation and it pushing the cycle back and back.🙈

dahlia123 · 22/04/2019 22:22

@Keyboard91 you've been through so much. What a tough few months.

@starkid Sorry to hear about AF, hope you get your answers.

@Dollywilde also symptom spotting like crazy. Had a headache a couple of days ago after the cramps ended.

Ava says I'm due on Thursday so hoping my boobs stay sore and my temps stay high. But usually my boobs stop hurting a couple of days before I start and is does feel like my right boob is less sore than yesterday. If someone had told me last year that I'd want my them to hurt I wouldn't have believed them!

KatBeCool · 23/04/2019 00:22

@FlapJackered I hope we dtd in time, did it as soon as I got home. Opk was still positive in the morning today and later in the day. But I suspect it's about to fade away now.

So I read something interesting which I hope isn't true. It said that it's possible to have already ovulated when you see the positive opk because it may take a while for it show up on the opk. I really don't think that's the case ever.

Tropicana1 · 23/04/2019 08:25

@KatBeCool I think I read something similar this weekend, which surprised me as most other things sat between 22-36hrs. I'm reading a good book at the moment on fertility and conception stuff which is really interesting. Also read an article that said temp can wait to go up as much as 3-5 days after ovulation whereas (with my very limited temping knowledge) I thought when temp went up that's when you had just ov'd that day

Tropicana1 · 23/04/2019 08:45

God I really should proof read - I meant said between 12 and 36 hours!

Keyboard91 · 23/04/2019 09:01

@Fivebyfive2 thank you for your message, sorry to see you’re still here. But fingers crossed this is our cycle(!) xx

@ValidUser thank you. I remember your username from before I think, sorry to see you’re still here xx

@Lola871 thank you. Sometimes you need to let your hair down and be ‘normal’ and enjoy life! Fingers crossed for you xx

@Dollywilde thank you - symptom spotting is the worst, I subconsciously squeeze my boobs to see if they ‘hurt’ even though I know when it’s PG related they hurt without a squeeze 😂 I’ve asked my DP to hide my ‘box’ with my tests in and he’s not allowed to give them to me until the day before my AF even if I beg! Xx

@starkid could I be cycle 5 as that’s how many cycles I’ve had minus 1 for The 1st PG. Hope you are well xx

@FlapJackered thank you, and sorry to read how much of a rotten time you’ve had since I left too. Sending hugs xx

@dahlia123 thank you, I think I remember your username from just before I left. I really hope that those are all signs that this is your month xx

Making the most of my last day off before term starts. 1 load on the line, a second in the machine and then I’m going to clean and do some work ... because maybe then I’ll stop over analysing every ache and twinge!!! DP is at work until 7 so I’m home alone all day! Xx

MrsAW2018 · 23/04/2019 09:08

Hi ladies. Sorry I haven't been able to reply individually but I have been with family these last couple of days and haven't had much chance to read the thread and it's moved so quickly and now the messages won't load on the app 😩but I just wanted to say thank you for all the encouragement and positive vibes for testing. I managed to hold off and was going to test today but AF arrived late last night and it's fair to say I'm absolutely devastated and have been crying ever since 💔 (which I'm aware is probably a bit OTT but I literally feel broken from TTC). So I might not be on here for a while but I'll be back soon. Good luck to all those who are due to test soon. Xxx

Tropicana1 · 23/04/2019 09:35

@Keyboard91 so sorry to hear about your MC

@MrsAW2018 so sorry AF arrived, hope the break from here helps you ❤️

MrsEG · 23/04/2019 09:53

@MrsAW2018 Oh I’m so sorry. Please look after yourself, it’s not OTT to be devastated when AF arrives at all, I think we’ve all been there xx

@Keyboard91 So sorry to hear you’ve had such a terrible time recently. The very best of luck with trying again!

@KatBeCool Ive heard similar about OPKs, it’s why I use CB ones as when I see the flashing smileys we get cracking, as I know my surge is a few days away so like to get those sperms in there!! Plus the day of the solid smiley (positive OPK) I sometimes worth if I don’t get to DTD til the evening I may be too late so I feel a lot better if we’ve done it the day or so before too. It’s such a bloody minefield though, it really is.

I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend and didn’t find it too hard getting up this morning!!

LikeTheFruit · 23/04/2019 10:39

@Keyboard91 I'm a boob squeezer too! Can't stop myself 😂😂

FlapJackered · 23/04/2019 11:16

Opk is very slightly darker today. Fingers crossed this means ov is on its way. DH was going to cycle to work today and I asked him not to (protect the sperm!!!), he is now trying his best not to be annoyed with me but I am getting grouchy vibes, which I do understand but he should just try to live with the sacrifices I make, not cycling one day is nothing! 😕

@KatBeCool i could be wrong but I think it is possible the surge can end after ovulation has occurred but I think it will always start before ovulation, I test so much that there is no danger of missing the start of the surge. 😂🙈 It sounds like you caught it! 🤞🏻Are you onto the dreaded progesterone now?

@MrsAW2018 I am so sorry to hear about AF, I was really hoping this would be the cycle for you. I am so with you with the need to take a break. I hope you manage to find some peace. We will be here if you need us x

starkid · 23/04/2019 12:40

@MrsAW2018 - sorry AF has arrived for you too, and can understand wanting a break :( xx

So I've booked my docs appointment for late next week, has anyone been through the whole '1 year of ttc, now off to the docs' process on here before, through NHS not private? Just wondering what to expect I guess. I already had the day 21 blood test done before. Am thinking maybe sperm test?

Tropicana1 · 23/04/2019 13:26

I don't know what's happened but sensible Tropicana has left the building - I'm currently 4dpo and have lower back ache and some mild cramping and OBVIOUSLY that means I'm pregnant, even though Rational me knows that 4dpo is impossible to have any symptoms because no embryo would implant yet. FFS what is wrong with me 😂

Marleym28 · 23/04/2019 13:30

@FlapJackered what cd are you? I think we may be cycle pals
I'm CD9 x

Keyboard91 · 23/04/2019 13:44

@Tropicana1 I'm with you on that one (also 4dpo!). I have backache, a headache and some very slight cramping. Pretty sure cramping is because of the amount of chocolate I've eaten and my insides being unhappy though, headache because I'm hot and backache because I've been sat at my computer lesson planning!

Even more frustrating is that I have got symptoms with my previous MC and CP that started 4-5dpo so it can happen and isn't impossible! But that then doesn't help the rational side of the brain be bloody rational!!!

DanceMagicDance1 · 23/04/2019 13:50

Hello. I'm new to all this. Me and my hubby have been doing a half arsed job of trying to conceive for a couple of years but I am 35 and a younger family member just announced their pregnancy so I/we've had a bit of a wake up call and are going to start doing things properly.

I would love to have a group of people to go through the process with and talk about the highs and lows, so I hope it's okay to join the chat. I have just ordered an Ava after reading a thread about them on here (and a bit of social media targeted advertising), anyone have any advice on using one?

Meenabeena · 23/04/2019 14:00

Hi, new to Mumsnet and this is my first thread posting. Im not sure what all the abbreviations are atm so I'll just say it all smile

We are trying to conceive first baby. Cycle number 4 but this is the first cycle we used the clear blue ovulation sticks. I started testing on day 11 and got the smiley face on day 15. 4 days post ovulation and I feel okay.

Two week wait now. Period is due next weekend so fingers crossed

KatBeCool · 23/04/2019 14:05

@Tropicana1 @MrsEG for the longest time I've been trying to find out if you can ovulate during the surge and so far the answer is "no". Surge happens, on the most broad scale, 6-72 hours before ovulation, with a 12-36 hours average. Sure, if you held your pee over 6 hours, or overnight, it's possible that you ovulated before you used an OPK. But sounds like the extremes are unlikely and rare.

@Tropicana1 often the temp drops the day before or the day of ovulation and it can, indeed, take several days for it to rise. An immediate dramatic rise is rare. That's why they suggest to look at the three day consistent ride to confirm the ovulation.

@FlapJackered no progesterone yet, must confirm the temp rise first. Although the instructions say day 18, and when I saw the dr, he said day 16. I'm guessing I'm due to ovulate today as the temp dropped low today and opk was still positive midday yesterday but lighter this morning. Glad to see yours got darker, hopefully ovulation is soon.

Lottiepink · 23/04/2019 14:05

@MrsAW2018 bless you hope you are ok x

Hi everyone, not really posted much recently been busy, pleased to be back tho!

@starkid so pleased you just asked that because we have the year mark, and im going to get in touch with doctors, but I literally have no idea where to start!

If anyone could help I would appreciate it 😊. Thanks x

MrsH497 · 23/04/2019 14:15

@Keyboard91 I remember you from before sorry you've had such an awful time x

Lottiepink · 23/04/2019 14:37

@Keyboard91 so sorry to hear your news too :(

MrsEG · 23/04/2019 14:41

@KatBeCool There’s SO much info around about it. We’re giving SMEP a go this month; DTD every other day from CD8, then DTD day of ov, following day and once more for luck the day after that too. I remember reading it thinking that seemed really excessive for the days post-ov, but sod it, we’re giving it a whirl. Only CD10 today mind, and I’m already knackered just looking at our sex schedule!!

@Tropicana1 Symptom spotting is the worst, I know from experience you can drive yourself totally insane! Try and just keep yourself busy or you’ll second guess every twinge. 10 days isn’t so far away to find out for sure!

@starkid @Lottiepink I’m afraid I don’t know what the one year tests are but just wanted to wish you both the best of luck - here’s hoping you both get some help and answers very soon!

@DanceMagicDance1 Welcome - I’m 33 and my younger sister has a 1 year old so I completely understand that feeling!! Good luck x
