Hi everyone 👋

Can't see a May bus, so thought I'd start one up!

A little bit about me...

TTC: #1
Age: 28
Cycle: 5
CD: 5
AF/BFP due: 10th May

This cycle I'm making a real effort to take my pre-conception vitamins EVERY day and going to use Pre-seed this cycle too.

Come on in and share your stories, symptoms and if needed, vent to your heart's content... Grin

Im really confused by my fertile dates. First day of period was 10th April. Ovia puts fertile wondow starting today. I have had two day of watery to sticky CM. Negative opks. Clearblue calculator says I would ovulate around the 23rd? So much difference between the two dates and what my body is saying Confused

What vitamins are you all taking? I am only on folic atm

Hello to everyone that has joined the thread in the last couple of days 👋

Love reading all your stories, all different but all share one goal.

Enjoy the Easter BH, take some time out (don't forget those vitamins though), the fertile window is nearly upon us 🐰🥚

(I guess bunnies and eggs have a double meaning in this case) 😂

@rubberyduck we’ve just started taking the pregnacare conception ones (I’m taking some folic acid too). I’ve heard both good and bad things about them, so I’m interested to see how they work out for us.

@paddypaws91 hope you have a lovely few days too!

@Rubberyduck I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin d (when I remember!!) and I'd go by your opks xx

@Paddypaws91 the bunny's and egg comment made me lol.... 😂😂

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I've got 4 lovely nights to work......just keep telling myself think of the extra bank holiday pay to buy more hpt's 😂😂 I'm going to chill in bed this morning, maybe catch a nap and then move out to the garden this avo to soak up the sun.

Hi 👋 ladies who've just hopped on. Fingers crossed xx

Predicted OV day for me today. ClearBlue was solid smiley yesterday. I've DTD 5 times in 4 days. Feel like I've done all I can. On our way for a childfree weekend, we'll no doubt DTD when we get there Grin Glad to not have to worry about faffing with OPKs this weekend! Have a good one all!

I’m in for May.

Cycle 3
TTC #1

I got totally obsessed in cycle 1 and wasted a fortune on sticks to pee on 😂 This time round have been a lot calmer, but DH was noticeably upset that my period came this morning so he is obviously taking as seriously as I am.

Next period due 17th May, my birthday is the week before and we usually go away, so hopefully that will stop me freaking out in the 2ww 😂

My opk was positive last night and negative this morning so I'm assuming I'll be ovulating today.

Dtd last 2 nights in prep and will jump on oh again tonight or tomorrow morning.

Good luck everyone ❤️

Hi @Novella12 - glad to see you here (but obvs sad that you didn't get your positive.) Have a feeling May might be our month.

I don't know much about charting, and trying hard to not get too hung up on it, but AF just gone so thinking will move into fertile window soon. Next AF due 13th May.

Novella12 · 19/04/2019 17:42

@sleepyhead11 I’m feeling positive too! My DH said today, when I told him about AF, that he thinks we should just try (in his lovely Yorkshire phrasing) “shagging non stop this month” 😂 so I think we’ll be putting the OPKs to one side this month too and just doing it the old fashioned way!

Report
MountAbora · 19/04/2019 19:38

Is this a positive OPK?! First month of using the tests and line is slightly lighter than the control line, anyone able to give tips on whether this means it’s go time please?

@MountAbora what does it loom like now it's dried? Still looks a little wet in the pic so don't think it's fully developed. It's looking good tho 😀

Thanks @Peachyx2505 I may be a bit naive but didn’t realise they had to dry to read the results Confused woops!
Took another pic of it and looks like a blazing positive! Oh dear, DP is exhausted tonight, hope I can sweet talk him round !

Hope everyone's enjoying the Easter weekend! @Paddypaws91 the bunnies and eggs comment really made me giggle love that 🐰🥚!

I've woken up with a headache today and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere! Is it safe to take paracetamol during the 2ww? My head is pounding but I don't want to mess anything up!

Report
Paddypaws91 · 20/04/2019 08:46

@MeganMama28 I'm the one usually rolling my eyes at my DH when he makes any sort of double entendre or euphuism 😂

paracetamol should be safe, it's absolutely fine to take when pregnant as long as it's the lowest dose for the shortest amount of time. I've heard ibuprofen is the one to avoid as it's linked the infertility and MC.

@Paddypaws91 fab thank you I'll take some now as I don't think I'll be able to get up otherwise, its pretty bad! Will definitely avoid ibuprofen!

@Novella12 ha, that's amazing. My partner is tired a lot, but think we might have a bit more sex this month. (I hope.) I hate feeling like I am badgering him for it though. Last month we only dtd twice so I guess it wasn't likely.

@MeganMama28 I was told to avoid all NSAIDS by my GP but it's OK to take paraceomol, and even co codamol, which I was amazed by. Just Googled Nsaids and apparently they do increase MC risk - www.theguardian.com/society/2011/sep/06/ibuprofen-warning-to-pregnant-women (Slightly scary Guardian link here - I felt a bit sick when I saw it but means I will not take any ibuprofen.)

I hope the headache buggers off soon.

I still don't know how OPKs work, and not sure if I want to know or not, if that makes sense? There's part of me that likes not knowing, but I also like to be in control. Just on day 6 of cycle now, so it's unlikely I'movulating, right? (just on cycle three so new to this.)

Report
McHelenz · 20/04/2019 11:04

@sleepyhead11 I wasn't going to OPK but my mum made a comment that it took her 6 years to conceive me...I went into overdrive and just wanted to make sure I was ok. They helped confirm I am pretty regular so I probably won't do them for much longer. I've used the advanced ones this month because I had an offer and they've just helped me see I have an estrogen surge for almost a week prior to ovulation. They are easy to be obsessed with though!!

Report
Novella12 · 20/04/2019 11:13

@sleepyhead11 it’s hard when life gets busy, isn’t it? Last month I was telling DH my fertile days and then we would DTD but it felt a bit clinical- hopefully this month will be a bit more enjoyable 😊

@McHelenz it's good that you're regular. Six years is such a long time. It does sound easy to get obsessive though, and I am obsessive by nature, so trying not to use them.

It's good to have this thread though. Think by CM I ovulate about day ten or eleven, but not sure if that's right as have 28 day cycle.

Report
McHelenz · 20/04/2019 11:24

@sleepyhead11 that's about right! I have a 28 day cycle too and the last two months ovulated on day 14 and 15.

Sleepyhead11 · 20/04/2019 11:26

@Novella12 It really is. I hate the whole clinical feeling of it.
