If you started over age 30, did you have loads of children?

Just an idle wonder... I'd love to have loads but cant cope with the idea of spending most of my 30s preg and most of my 40s with young ones so I guess I've left i too late. Oh well...

My stepdaughter's mother had three after 40. I think Mohze on her has had about a dozen after 38.
I had mine at 38 and 41. No more though.

CatIsSleepy · 14/06/2007 13:42

well technically speaking that's true singapore but even so...
bet the person who asked you that was ever so ever so
young (and silly)
can always count on my dh to laugh at me when i need reassurance too!

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 13:45

ds at 33
dd (last week) at 38

would love another one before i'm 40, but dh not so keen, and i would have to get my skates on, although nothing could be further from my mind at the moment than getting jiggy!!

bigknickersbigknockers · 14/06/2007 13:46

DS1 born a couple of months after my 30th birthday

had DS2 aged 33

Had DD aged 35

I cannot imagine having babies in my 20s but thats probably more to do with the fact that my Ex H was a total nob head and I didnt start going out with DH until I was almost 27

curiouscat · 14/06/2007 13:52

I thought I'd be the granny at antenatal class when had my first child at 32 and it turned out I was one of the young ones.

Mine were born when I was 32,34 and 36. But I wouldn't take anything for granted.

I had two miscarriages as well, one age 30, one age 33. You can never be sure how it'll turn out. Good luck whatever you do.

fifilou · 14/06/2007 13:53

dont worry so much!

Crazy-bonkers worrying is no good for the soul, let alone ttc!

I'm 32 (33 in march) and am only just trying.( when i say only just- i mean this is my first month off the pill!)

Most of the women around where i live are career women and have had their first at 36+

Dont worry! Be happy!

Twiglett · 14/06/2007 13:54

DS at 32 nearly 33
DD at 37

would like another but too late now (for me) at 40

Tinker · 14/06/2007 13:55

32 and 40

Singapore · 14/06/2007 13:55

Cat, that's men... the little dears. Mind you it was funny but would have been funnier if it was someone other that me telling it! I will admit to spending the next week comparing myself to anyone pushing a baby round and thing do I look older/younger than her?

Daisyboo, firstly congratulations and secondly give it a while!

Tinker · 14/06/2007 13:55

ages not kids

francagoestohollywood · 14/06/2007 13:59

ds - I was 31 and a half
dd - I was 33 and a half.
Would like another one, but my patience has gone. I'll be 37 in November. I'm giving myself another 3 years to make the final decision

motherinferior · 14/06/2007 14:01

I had one at 37, one at 40. If I'd started earlier I'd have another, but as I turned 44 last week I think I'm calling it a day.

lizziemun · 14/06/2007 14:59

had dd when i was 34 and am now pg with no2 due in august and i will be 38 in october. I don't think that there will be anymore as i don't get pg that easy.

It has taken about 2 and half to get each time. Not that we want anymore either.

bobbydazzler · 14/06/2007 16:00

had DS at 34 and currently ttc no2 at 37 but it is taking ages so part of me kind of wishing had started sooner.

Probably serves me right as DS was conceived quickly and was an easy pregnancy so was feeling quite smug back then and feeling glad I had delayed having children.

now I'm neither so smug or so glad!

hana · 14/06/2007 16:02

dd1 32
dd2 35
dd3 36

McDreamy · 14/06/2007 16:03

DS 34
currently ttc no 3 I will be 37 when baby is born

Bibis · 14/06/2007 16:05

dd1 32 (almost 33)
dd2 34
ds1 36
dd3 37

Am very tired now so that's all folks

HenriettaHippo · 14/06/2007 16:08

DS1 at 31
DS2 at 33

At 30, hadn't even given children a thought! If I have another, it won't be until at least DS1 is at school. That's only a year off mind... Hmmm.

Azure · 14/06/2007 16:14

30 seems laughingly young to me a decade later. Anyway DS1 34 (& 11 months), DS2 37 (& 11 months!).

Hulababy · 14/06/2007 16:16

I had DD at 29. Would love to have a second but at present unable . I'm 34. If my op next week is successful and if it does impove my fertility chances then I will like to have another child sometime soon.

nogoes · 14/06/2007 16:17

Ds 31 (nearly 32)
I am 34 (nearly 35) and about to start trying for no2. I would really like 3 but I am also very keen to get career back on track and not be so skint so I think it is unlikely we will have more than 2.

throgmorton · 14/06/2007 17:55

forgot to mention that dh is 39 which is a major factor! not physically i mean cos i know they can father children into their 80s but...well you now what i mean!

OP posts:
mum03 · 14/06/2007 20:27

1st @ 35
2nd @ 36
Now at 39 going for #3.... I really believe that children keep you young. If you would like a child, then go for it, and don't worry about the age thing. 30's is definitely young these days...

oooggs · 14/06/2007 20:28

ds1 two weeks before I was 30
dts when I was/am 33

berolina · 14/06/2007 20:30

ds at 28
turned 30 3 months ago and expecting dc2 in Sept
our plan is to go for a third in 4 years or so, so when I'm 34 or 35 - and atm we're open for a 4th too.
