I have very irregularly bleeds due to breastfeeding, so I am not 100% sure where I am at in my cycle.

I am around CD36 today, of a usual 28/30 days cycle but I am wondering if a serious illness this month could have delayed my ovulation by a week or so....which would make me around 8/9 DPO.

I think I ovulated late, as I had 2 days of EWCM and I was horny as hell (sorry TMI ) Does that sound right for ovulation?

I now feel pregnant, I am very tired, very hungry, moody and weeing a lot. Tested today just in case and got a BFN.

Have I got a chance of being pregnant (i.e. Could my ovulation be over a week later than usual) or am I just kidding myself.

Any advice welcome.

I like the kicking DH out to check. Mine would be useless at that and asking daft questions like "I can't see a red line anywhere!"

Fingers Crossed

Thanks Ladies

Here is my faint BFN line (with and without arrows. It does looks much stronger than the photo in real life and it came up within the right time frame but it is too thin/faint to be a BFP.

How are you today Thinking?

mum03 · 15/06/2007 21:51

Thinking - I looked at the one without the arrows first and can definitely see a thin faint line.... how exciting.... do let us know how further tests go.....

Thinking · 15/06/2007 22:26

Will do

Thinking, how are you doing today? I did the same as Mum03 and only looked at the one without arrows and could see where the line was easily - but I am not familiar with those sort of tests so don't know the significance of it being thin.

Thinking · 16/06/2007 09:13

I think the line being very thin means it is a false negative, which is why I am counting it as a BFN.

I only started temping this month at 4DPO but I have recorded high temps from 4DPO to 16DPO which is consistent with the post ovulation part of my cycle.

I am 16 DPO today and my temp went up again this morning, still much higher than coverline. My AF cramps have stopped with no sign of AF yet. I have no more pregnancy tests in the house and I can't keep testing every day, so I don't know what to do.

I've just been reading this thread and am hooked now.......how are you today? Have you done the test yet?

I looked at your photo withotut arrow and culd see the line. As far as I know, a faint line is still a positive, at least thaat what it says in the instructions.

Good luck

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 09:21

It might be best to leave it a few days.....when is your AF due, or do you not know because of the BF?

lissie · 16/06/2007 09:24

i would say (as a HPT expert ) that that is a bfp, go to your doctors and ask for a blood test.

Thinking · 16/06/2007 09:29

My AF was due around the 13 DPO (ish) so I am 3 days late today. But according to the TCOYF book temping can be 3 days out at any point so who knows.

Basically there are three options :-

: AF will show shortly (though I have being saying that for ages)

: I'm pregnant (sadly very unlikely with all the negative tests)

: That I never ovulated in the first place(but I am pretty sure I did, due to my symptoms and the high temps following)

My last AF was 44 days ago, I just want an end to this cycle one way or another

QUOTE i would say (as a HPT expert ) that that is a bfp.

Oh, that would be so wonderful but Clearblue tests are known online for False positives (not that I knew that before I bought this test) so I am too scared to count it as anything other than a negative.

OP posts:
Thinking · 16/06/2007 09:36

I have been trying to compare my faint line with this page and it looks like the false positive ones at the bottom of the page...though there are a couple of true positive test lines which are fairly thing too...

Clearblue Test results on an USA site

OP posts:
lissie · 16/06/2007 09:37

you may have ov'd late, and false positives are v rare. women produce hcg at different rates/levels so the best thing to do would be to see your doctor and insist on a blood test.

lissie · 16/06/2007 09:39

is it possible (and i dont want to worry you) that the false positives on that page were actually v early mcs instead?

Thinking · 16/06/2007 10:09

Yes, I think I ovulated late due to illness, I think I ovulated on day 28 which makes me only 16 DPO today.

Mmmm, I did wonder about early losses.. But there has been a lot of complaints about this type of test...Positive

Thinking · 16/06/2007 10:13

Opps, wrong link...This one tells me my line is a BFN

OP posts:
mum03 · 16/06/2007 15:29

To quote from the website - "faint but visible false positives common, "positives" commonly develop after 10-minute limit, and negative results are faint" I thought that you said that the test showed positive in less than 10 mins??? Your temps are still high you have tested between 4dpo and 16dpo that is 12 post-ov temps, therefore you only need another 6 to meet the TCOYF critea of 18 high temps showing you as pg. Can you wait another 6 days???? OK if it was me I would be ordering the cheap pg tests online to arrive the following day and test like crazy instead of waiting!!!

Anyway, Thinking, just wanted you to know that I still hope it is a positive appearing. But if you still do not know what to do then listen to Lissie and go get a blood test at your docs.

Thinking · 16/06/2007 15:41

I know what you are saying and I would love for that line to be a BFP but I doubt it as the second website link I posted had this quote
---------
QUOTE
I have received some initial reports that various brands of the blue +/- tests (see The +/- Tests for brand examples) may be giving false positive results. The vertical line that appears to form the + sign shows up during the 10-minute valid result time frame, but is very narrow and slightly off-center (to the left.) Several women who have experienced this have gone on to have negative blood results and/or bleeding.
--------
As my line is thin and slightly to the left I can not count on it. But you are right it is blue and appeared straight away well within the time limit.

I can't wait 6 days and I must of being picking up your vibes offline as I've just been to Tesco and amongst other things bought a couple of cheap Tesco tests (as the choice was Tesco's own or the silly Clearblue one again)

I have also ordered a few cheap internet tests (though to be honest I never got a positive last time with the cheap tests)

I'm going to use the tesco test tomorrow and then cheap tests for the next 6 days and if AF has still not turned up by then I'll try he second tesco test.

All assuming AF doesn't show at some point.

BTW My doctor doesn't do bloods for pregnancy tests, they ask for a urine sample and do a dip test (same as our home tests) so that is not an option.

OP posts:
Thinking · 16/06/2007 15:44

As temps are high from the day of ovulation until AF, my temps would of been high from 1DPO so I really have 16 days of high temps (assuming I got my ovulation date right) SO that would mean waiting two days...

God I wish I had started to temp earlier this month No guessing then.

OP posts:
mum03 · 16/06/2007 15:48

I took the couple of days off the post-ov temps incase you got the ov day wrong but hey, I think that your strategy is great, and still really hope that you are pg....

Thinking · 16/06/2007 15:55

Yes, I could of Ovulated as late as day 31 or even 33...that would make me only 11DPO's Argghhh, nothing is simple

Thanks for giving me hope...after 44 days I don't think this cycle will ever end I'm hopeing it will either finish tomorrow or better still Feb 2008

Fingers crossed for Sunday's test, and an aside a BFP tomorrow would make a great fathers day gift for my DH

Hi thinking. Oh hun it looks like you are in total termoil. I totally understand your need to know one way or the other!

I think you just have to let go a little (so hardI know) and know that if you are pregnant you WILL get a clear positive once your hormone levels get there. I have everything crossed that they will get there by tomorrow morning.

big Hugs and I hope you stay sane!
Thinking of you

Thinking · 17/06/2007 07:38

Another flipping BFN and NO AF

I give up I am never going to see an end to this cycle.

If I get AF I will update this thread but after 7 weeks of nothing it is looking unlikely that my period will ever return.

Everyone have a nice Father's Day.
