Have heard lots of conflicting advice on this one. Some say you should wait six months to let all the hormones and chemicals out of your system, others say go for it straight away cause it will do your baby no harm.
Thought maybe one of you well informed ladies might know? Or at least be able to give me an opinion?
We were going to start trying for our first a few months back but then work commitments got in the way so have just decided to come off the pill again but not sure if I need to wait or just get started?
Thanks!

Sounds like a plan!

Treenie - Meant to ask - when did you come off the pill? (I've got a couple of weeks left)

Redlorry - good look with your ttc - hopefully we'll all fall soon!

Rozzyr - p.s. congrats on your bfp!! You must be thrilled with such a quick one!

Filthy - I totally agree - MN is addictive - and worryingly I've only been lurking until recently and yet it has still filled my days - I dread to think what will happen now that I'm posting

I came off the pill three days ago so waiting for AF now but might be a few days still. Just desperate for the flippin thing to arrive then I can start the countdown!
keep typing in various permitations of dates and cycle lenghths into ovulation calculators and so far they tell me I'll have my baby around April 18 if I strike it lucky first time which would be great cause I'd love a spring baby - now hows about that for obbsessive planning?! Sods law it will take years and all of this calculating will be a complete waste of time!

I'm going to be so tempted to do the due date thing now !

Treenie · 05/06/2007 18:29

Glad to hear I'm not alone Scorpio. And toomuch you should do it cause it's fun and having a date to think about it makes it more real for me if that makes sense. babycentre.com have a good one. Works out when you are ovulating etc too so v handy.

Just checked and - if I fall first time - and have a normal 28 day cycle - I'll have a beautiful bouncing baby at the end of March/early April next year!!

.. pretty unlikely I know - but very nice to think about

scorpio1 · 06/06/2007 10:35

mine will be halfway through March

I came off the pill after 11 years and used condoms for a month as my Dr recommended, got pregnant after 2 months of trying. After coming off the pill I did feel like I'd got pregnant in the first month even though we were using condoms as I had sore boobs, lots of aches and strange feelings, these were just down to coming off the pill, just thought I'd better warn you as I didn't expect those! Good luck!
