I know a few people will unfortunately be joining me eventually so I figured I'd get this bus going.
My cycles are crazy and averaging 60 days and I don't think I've ovulated yet so I'm out for April.

Age: 27
TTC: #1
Cycle: #4 (month 8)
CD: #25

Not holding much hope for conception at the moment but I've got to wait until August anyway.
Such an optimistic person to start the new bus!

spottyyellowdress was the negative digital OPK the first one you used? Because the stick part of it definitely looks positive, but they always show a negative/blank smiley on the first day as they register your "baseline" hormone levels.

I think I might have just felt ovulation. I had mild cramps yesterday on the left hand side and this morning sitting at my desk there was a definite, very sharp 'pop' feeling on the same side. Super quick but definitely there!! Never had anything like that before but had my first ever acupuncture session last week and she did say it often brings on more obvious ovulation symptoms. Anyone else tried acupuncture for fertility? Did it help?

I'm on cycle 12, month 13 and think I only started ovulating regularly after Christmas so figured it can't hurt!

italianwifey · 24/04/2018 12:41

@puzzlepiece it’s just me telling myself at the mo, if the willpower holds out or not is another thing but @LP17 I love this idea of putting them in hubbys boot....
am so sick of this spotting now just want AF to arrive good and proper rather than being in horrible limbo land!!! Had a little cry to DH last night, think it is just the pMS emotions getting in full swing!

ClumsyFool · 24/04/2018 13:51

@MK86 this is cycle 5, we actually conceived on our first month but it wasn’t to be unfortunately as the bleeding started very soon afterwards and since then my cycles seem to have reduced (apart from the first one after which was actually a good few days longer than usual). Fingers crossed for you this month, where abouts are you in your cycle?
At least if we do drive ourselves crazy we all have each other and can see we’re not on our own with it!

cakeandcheese · 24/04/2018 14:09

can i join? I unfortunately suffered a early MC last month so am hoping to fall pregnant quickly as we only started trying and fell pregnant on our first try last month but it wasn't meant to be :(
TTC: 2
Cycle: #1
CD: #??? who knows (no AF yet after MC)

MK86 · 24/04/2018 14:19

@ClumsyFool sorry to hear your first bfp wasn't to be, I had that before I fell pregnant with my daughter too. Its so frustrating when it messes with your cycles too!
I think I'm 2dpo though I don't know whether I o'd a couple of days earlier in which case I probably missed the boat (which is what I'm trying to tell myself already). My impending birthday made me decide to just inform dh on Saturday that we should ttc..... I expected a bit of resistance (he's a planner!)
Are you trying for your first?
Welcome @cakeandcheese I've been there with an early mc on first try before, hopefully your body will recognise what's happening this time.... That's what I told myself afterwards.

MK86 · 24/04/2018 14:24

Meant to put pregnancy not bfp... Sorry getting used to the acronyms, not been on the forums before 😀

FingersXssd83 · 24/04/2018 17:51

I'm hopping off the May bus (although we bonked all through FW so I'm not sure this is possible!).

Seriously had enough of this up-duff malarkey.

Everyone's dropping pregnant around me left right and centre. There's no escape from baby chat! At home. At work. Everywhere... It's making me extremely unhappy.

We're on cycle 10, I'm age 35 in July and just been referred to a fertility clinic. Ooh the excitement...

Think I'm going to stick with a life of holidays and get myself a pack of dogs.

Good luck to all you who are feeling positive.

TCC sucks.

MK86 · 24/04/2018 17:55

Good luck to you! Hopefully taking a step back may help relax you and give you a surprise! Xxx

JustLikeTheySaid · 24/04/2018 18:33

I'm here!
Cycle 3
TTC #1
Age 28
CD 5

I got accepted onto the clearblue trial so I am excited to start ovulation tracking. Fingers crossed it helps!

Spottyyellowdress · 24/04/2018 20:03

@miserablemouse I’d used one the day before as well which came up with a blank circle. Just done another today though and there’s only one line on the stick so I imagine I must have already had my lh surge and missed it?!

Being sent for day 21 blood test to check hormone levels so guess I’ll know how accurate it is next month.

Spottyyellowdress · 24/04/2018 20:06

Fingersxssd83 So sorry you’re feeling so down about it...we’re cycle 10 here too, just turned 30, but saw doctor yesterday for irregular bleeding and was told it was time to start infertility investigations. Hearing it said out loud made me feel absolute shit and like we had to accept something was wrong. To top it off, someone at work has literally just come back from maternity leave and she’s 7 months pregnant!!!

Hang on in there x

silverpenguin · 24/04/2018 20:23

Fairly sure today was ovulation day...we've hit every other day for the past week, so now waiting begins...

Testing a week on Friday Smile

ClumsyFool · 24/04/2018 22:05

@MK86 yes we’re ttc our first, cant shake the feeling that it won’t happen for us, don’t know why, it’s just this constant feeling I have at the back (and sometimes front!) of my mind.
@FingersXssd83 so sorry to hear how you’re feeling and it’s totally understandable, sometimes you need to take a step back from all the ttc talk, it can be all consuming. Hope you’re ok and just know if you ever do want to rant/talk or whatever there will always be plenty of us here to lend an ear Flowers

clairehr · 25/04/2018 06:31

Sorry for those having a rough time right now, I think we've all been there at some point.

I've given myself a bit of 'time off' from TTC chat this week as Monday just gone was a year since my first MC.

Now back on it and just hitting FW. Fingers crossed that our rainbow is waiting for us this month!

bubblybrit · 25/04/2018 06:50

I’m using clearblue OPKs. Usually start testing CD12, get one or two days of low followed by a few days high fertility and then peak fertility around CD18.

I’m CD13 and tested with fmu for the first time this month (missed CD12). Peak appeared right away. Could this be accurate or a false positive?

MK86 · 25/04/2018 07:23

@ClumsyFool I felt like that when we started ttc our daughter... To be honest I felt like it even before we started ttc. I worried so much it just wouldn't happen for us.
I would say try and stay positive but it's easier said than done, I know! I'm sure it will happen, and I'm hoping you won't have to wait too long for it too!
P. S Despite having a child, I'm convinced I won't get pregnant again so ttc will always drive us insane I think!

silverpenguin · 25/04/2018 08:28

At what point did people start using OPKs, temping etc? I was charting when trying for my first but have been quite relaxed this time round...but only on cycle one!!!

PassTheAfterEights · 25/04/2018 10:05

waves

33
TTC#1
Cycle 6
AF due 19/05

early mc in Jan, just come off the CB trial (control arm) & time to embrace temping & OPK's this month.

good luck to all x

Miserablemouse · 25/04/2018 11:02

silverpenguin I just used an app for the first few cycles to log my periods as they were still haywire after comng off the pill, but didn't chart or OPK as naively assumed that a few months of "trying-not-trying" would be all it took. Then did several months of temping and two cycles of OPKs before it all got too much and for the last few I've not bothered with any of it because it was getting overwhelming.

I think if you can keep up a relaxed, non charting/OPKing approach for a few more months then do, but I think some people get more stressed by that as they like knowing where things are up to.
Personally I'm going to keep up the relaxed approach for another few months (currently on cycle 12) and then go back to the GP, as his last advice was "well I could refer you to the fertility clinic as it's been 13 months, but I think it would just stress you out, so I won't. Just relax." Hmm

the next person who tells me to relax is getting a smack

On a cheerier note, is anyone near testing date?

Countrygirl94 · 25/04/2018 11:17

@Miserablemouse I'm gonna be testing next week. 8 days to go. Before last month I had resisted POAS and now I wanna test already even though I know it's way too early. Currently I'm 5DPO.
@silverpenguin I'm using opks this month for first time. This is cycle 6 for me, I actually found after two weird cycles it a relief getting a positive opk as was starting to worry I wasn't ovulating.

Aph413 · 25/04/2018 11:25

@Countrygirl94 I'm 4dpo and seriously having to talk to myself about not testing yet. It's ridiculous Grin

SP84 · 25/04/2018 11:30

Hi everyone, this is my first post on Mumsnet, have been lurking for a little while though :) Here's me:

Age - 33 (for another 3 weeks...)
TTC#1
Cycle 3
AF due 3rd May

I think I'm about 6DPO but haven't been using OPKs or temping. Have fairly regular 27/28 day cycles so using that as a guide for O date.

Sorry to you guys who have been TTC for a while. I've already managed to get a bit stressed out after a couple of cycles, must be really tough if it goes on for a while.

Anyone else keeping things really low key with DH / DP but secretly getting obsessed?! Mine's so laid back he's almost horizontal and ridiculously non-committal about most life decisions / actions, so I'm just being proactive by jumping him during FW and staying pretty quiet about testing etc!

Miserablemouse · 25/04/2018 11:31

Haha we've all been there with fighting the urge to test stupidly early countrygirl & aph!
I think I'm 1dpo so looking ahead at the looooooooooong 2ww. Will try not to test until the day I'm due this month, but we'll see how that goes! Until then I'll be living vicariously through everyone testing before me! Hoping for lots of BFPs on this bus.

silverpenguin · 25/04/2018 11:51

@miserablemouse I think I'm 1DPO too, snap Smile

It's really unlikely I'll be able to wait to test until AF is due though. If I manage to make it to 8DPO before testing I'll be pleased with myself!

Thanks for the advice on charting/OPKs. Last time round I was definitely in the camp of wanting to know everything about my cycle so it's weird to me that I'm quite relaxed about it this time.

I think it's partly because we've set a deadline and if I'm not pregnant by the summer I'm going to resign from my job anyway (which I would be super happy about), I'm just sticking it out for the moment in case I need the mat leave. So although I will find it hard if TTC takes a while this time, there will be a silver lining at least!

Countrygirl94 · 25/04/2018 12:51

@Aph413 @miserablemouse @silverpenguin My plan is no test in house means I can't test. Just have to stay away from the shops haha! The rate I'm going though if I make it through the weekend I'll be amazed.

@SP84 Welcome! I'm just a day behind you. AF due on the 4th May.
I have to say I'm the opposite, my poor DH has to put up with getting every detail he probably doesn't want to know, luckily he's very understanding. Probably secretly grossed out haha!
