I'm a name changer, just incase.

Last night the condom broke.
Haven't done deed for a while and we did it twice yesterday. That'll teach us.
I really don't want to get pg now. Not for a while yet.
Is it ok if I get the M.A.P on tue? Thats still in the time frame isn't it?
Do the chances of it working go down the longer you leave taking it?
Is it free from docs?
If not, how much does it cost?

And will it make me feel sick or be sick?

Thanks

windows I think you will have to go as they may want to ask if you have any health problems.

Days 18 and 19 are the most fertile i think, long time since I was TTC and working out dates.

Please don't worry about going to get the pill no one will be judging you and we all have sex so thats nothing to be embarrassed about.

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 11:45

just rang our minor injuries dept. They gave me phone number to call to get a prescription. its an out of hours service. On hold now. Still need to find a chemist that has one in stock though.

OP posts:
kimi · 07/05/2007 11:47

Most proper chemists will have them don't worry

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 11:47

I thought it was day 12.
Its nhs direct. Just got through. She sounds really unhelpfull and said go to a chemist. I said 'we've been trying and getting no answer'

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 11:59

OMG both of you got pg within a week after taking it? This is not good.

OP posts:
CarGirl · 07/05/2007 12:04

we both condom accidents within a week of each other, both took the morning pill, both of us got pregnant!

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 12:31

It sounds like it worked out well for you though

OP posts:
dotcom · 07/05/2007 12:49

I took it a while ago and it was fine.

It cost £25 at the chemist but would have been free at the GP.

I didnt feel sick at all and I wasnt PG.

It also made me feel better that the chemist told me that the MAP doesnt abort but simply prevents the sperm getting to the egg.

Hope you are OK.

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 13:52

My Gp called me about an hour ago. I'd forgotten that I was waitng for her to call after talking to NHS direct.
She's written a prescription for me and is leaving it at our minor injuries dept. Am going to get it now, then go to Boots.

Goodo

mears · 07/05/2007 14:43

That's good needtocleanmywindows.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to improve your contraception so that you can avoid chance of pregnancy. Have you considered mirena coil at all? Almost as reilable as sterislisation.

needtocleanmywindows · 07/05/2007 15:03

I'm not on pill as still bf. I did think about the mini pill but didn't think I'd remember to take it at same time every day. I'm going to get it now after this though and set my mobile to beep and remind me.
Don't like the idea of something in my body like a coil. Also I DO want another baby, just not yet. I hope this doesn't affect my chances next time

OP posts:
burstingbug · 07/05/2007 15:14

I gave up on the mini pill, hopeless at remembering to take it! Now I'm back on microgynon 30 (sp?). I leave the pack on top of the loo and take it after my last wee before I go to bed.
I'm still breastfeeding DS2 who's 8.5mths.

mears · 07/05/2007 15:17

burstingbag - how long have you been on micogynon? It isn't usually compatible with breastfeeding as it is a combined pill. Milk procuction usually stops.

burstingbug · 07/05/2007 15:18

before children 8-9 years. Since DS2, 3-4mths. Still have milk though Dr was aware of me breastfeeding.

mears · 07/05/2007 15:24

I think if you have a good supply and you have been feeding over 6 months then it is probably OK. Might be though that there is a school of thought that it won't matter if milk dries up after 6 months.

Used to be combined pill was not recommended at all for breastfeeding women because milk could dry up. Just keep an eye open

needtocleanmywindows · 08/05/2007 08:04

Well I took it yesterday at 4pm. Got it from boots ,free with the prescription.

I felt a little sick but wasn't actually sick. Had period type pains in night. Do you think thats it for the symptoms?
It said in leaflet that my period may be earlier/later or shorter/longer. I know It will come later , right in the middle of my holiday. Typical.

I just hope it worked. 84%.
