TTC after the mini pill

Hi ladies

I've recently started ttc after a miscarriage last October.

After the miscarriage I went on the mini pill for a couple of months and stopped taking this on the 1st Jan on the first day of my 'monthly bleed' (I still bled on mini pill but only very light and for a few days usually) after which I had a withdrawal bleed pretty much straight off the bat until 8th Jan.

Since then we've been actively trying every other day but I did NOT do any ovulation tests this month so have no idea when I did or if I did?!

AF would technically be due tomorrow if I were to go off my usual monthly cycle but for the past couple of days I've been having a LOT of watery clear or white discharge. As in enough to make my knickers wet and run to the loo think af had arrived (sorry tmi). I've never had this before a period before and so I'm a bit confused... Did anyone experience this coming off the pill or in early pregnancy (wishful thinking I know!)?

Last week I had cramps and the feeling of getting a UTI which I actually went to the Drs about but no infection according to their tests.

Congratulations Dwangelaforever! Good to hear a success story after Cerazette. Was slightly worried hearing people don't get periods back for a while.

Where do you get your cheap pregnancy tests from?

Congratulations Dwangelaforever! It's good to hear a positive story about Cerazette! You do hear some horror stories but then I suppose you would find them about anything if you looked hard enough like me ha.

Pancakes I got them from eBay. They are called OneStep and they are just a bag of 20 strips. Were only a couple of quid. I got the same OPKs as well. They are great for satisfying a POAS addict otherwise I'd be spending my entire wage on clear blue haha. I think if I really really thought I was I might buy one proper shop brand in case but for continuous testing they are good and have good reviews too.

Xx

I've been having painful aches in my legs for the last 3 days. Is this a symptom of coming off the pill or should I be worried? Not sure if I should see a doctor.

Hi all,
Please can I join? I’m in the same positional you all, having stopped (generic version of) cerazette start of this month to TTC for the first time (scary but exciting!) I’m 29, DH 30. Feeling exhausted and a bit ick last few days but might just be a lingering cold and because I’m post nights... I actually think because DH and I have been on conflicting shifts this month we probably haven’t DTD enough for these to be promising symptoms. I was on cerazette for 2-3 years and always spotted if I took a pill a bit late but no AFs. Finding it a bit weird that although I haven’t had any pills for almost 3 weeks now I haven’t spotted at all yet! Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi Chip! Of course - welcome!

TTC is scary and exciting and also a massive pain in the butt I'm finding when you're impatient like me haha.

Sorry I can't help you much with the lack of bleeding as I actually did have monthly periods whilst on Cerazette! (Not proper but at least a bit of spotting at my usual time) although I wouldn't worry too much. When I stopped it took me nearly 5 weeks to get a period and even that was very light and only lasted a few days. I read when you stop the pill it can give you pregnancy symptoms at first so don't be disheartened. I actually feel a lot better after having my 'period' last week now I know things are working properly and hopefully back to normal now.

Pancakes - I did have achy muscles first few weeks like I'd been working out in my legs and across my abdomen. Didn't get cramps exactly though. Have you had a look online at pill withdrawal symptoms? It can cause some bizarre symptoms I hear. If you're worried ring your Dr though.

Chez - are you testing every two days? Xx

Thanks Mangopr. I'm constantly googling side affects of stopping the pill. Had an awful day yesterday. Not sure if it's a sickness bug or pill side affect. But I had an awful migraine and sickness. In bed all day. Really unsure what my body is doing. Got tender breasts today.

So it is food poisoning I think. Got pms symptoms aswell. Don't think I'm pregnant... but will still take a test in 2 weeks if no af. Feeling so drained. Body is going through a lot and now this... Any of you had any luck?

Hi pancakes.

To be honest they could be either. I did have all of those and for me they were symptoms of stopping the pill but they are also common pregnancy symptoms so they only way you will know is to keep testing till a BFP or AF.

I'm confused myself as I'm supposedly just starting my fertile window this week but I had want I'm sure was a positive OPK a few days ago which means my fertile week was early than expected. I'm not too bothered as me and OH tend to do the deed every two days anyway so 🤞

Chez how are you getting on? Xx

Yeah it is so confusing as symptoms are the same for pill withdrawal as they are for pregnancy. I am trying to be strong and not waste poas too early. I reckon it is just pill withdrawal but fingers crossed it's not.

It is all so confusing isn't it. Our bodies seem to just do their own thing. Good idea to have sex regularly and not just when ovulating. As then you'll have more of a chance of catching it. Also I read on nhs that if you don't do it regularly then the sperm die and you may get blanks.

Hope you get a bfp soon! X
