ooo well it's a bit complicated - we were going to ttc naturally about now anyway, then DH got diagnosed with aggressive form of MS so had loads of IV steroids and some chemotherapy for it which knocked out alot of the little swimmers.
He's now on a drugs trial and since they have no idea the effect on embryos we are using sperm he banked last year before the drugs trial.
and amid all this FIL has dementia, I had a breast cancer scare, DS has another grommit operation and I'm working four days a week - at least I haven't been too stressed about the IVF - too much else to think about

lissielou · 24/04/2007 20:33

do you know I think we have coped better because it's all happened at once - if just one thing had gone wrong we'd have probably had sat and moped about it but we just don't have the time! we have grieved a bit for the loss of the life we thought we would have but now we just deal with things as they happen and try and enjoy every day. we really relish things like trips to the swings with DS -take loads of photos - cos he might never be able to remember his dad walking......
and there are always other people worse off!

lissielou · 24/04/2007 20:41

lol, dont worry i do it all the time. have been advised by the nurses not to ttc again for another month or so, but i know better!!!

im so fucking pissed off now, i dont know if i should laugh or cry!

Lissielou so sorry to hear that - when my husband got MS loads of people tried to say "helpful" things being well-meaning - I found the only thing was when people were honest and said "that's so sh*t, life just stinks sometimes" and so it does

Bella - have my fingers crossed for you (and everyone else on here)

lissielou · 25/04/2007 21:44

so whats the earliest youve tested? me, 5dpo, got bfp 7dpo twice

OP posts:
moominsmummy · 25/04/2007 21:58

dpo - days post ovulation???
when I got pg with DS I tested on the day my period was due but it was negative - wasn't too devastated at the time as 5 mins later got in the car with my dad and went to the church to get married! 3 days later on honeymoon finally realised period not happened so did another test and got a BFP! (Miserable transatlantic flight home with morning sickness though!)
was chatting to my SIL last week who is a GP specialising in sexual health etc etc and she said it's actually rare to get a BFP before your period is due and these tests that say you can test several days before are fibbing. Mind you - makes us buy more of them.......

lissielou · 26/04/2007 06:49

lol, as i say, 2 of my early tests were bfp, tho faint, but with my ep i got a bfp on my period due date!

am already itching to buy one and gazing longingly at them in boots.
NO LISSIE!

yes to dpo by the way
