Anyone in Fertile Week?

I'm on CD 8 and just about to start the joys of fw and OPKS again for cycle 6 of ttc #1
Anyone else approaching/in fw and got any new tips/ideas you're trying this cycle? Or anything you did different which resulted in BFP? How often if everyone dtd?

May I join? :) Dh and I have just got married and are just waiting for my fertile week so we can ttc. This is the first time we will be trying so the language etc. will be a bit new to me. But nice to be part of a support group. According to my fertility app my fertile week is next week but I wonder are these apps reliable or should I also buy ovulation sticks?

@SparkLee, the apps can be reliable but only after you have entered enough info about when you last ovulated and had periods, so that it can make a solid prediction. Like I’m on cycle 3 but have used opks since first cycle just to make sure I’m ovulating correctly and get my period on time. If you don’t use opks straight away you can use the app as a rough guide but give or take 2 or 3 days from your predicted ovulation or period dates.

You can also go my egg white cervical mucous (ewcm) which is there when you ovulate. However I don’t see this as a good way of saying if I ovulated so I use opks. Opks can show that you have got a LH surge. However they don’t say you have ovulated. The only way to say you have actually ovulated is to use a bbt basal temperature thermometer which should dip in temp then rise. This shows you have ovulated.

@gem thank you for the tips! I have heard of bbt but didn't really know anything about it. I'll look into getting one of those thermometers and maybe a few ovulation sticks just to be sure!Smile

SparkLee Hi! I think it can take the apps a few cycles to be totally accurate, to be on the safe side you could dtd (do the deed) every other day from around cycle day 10 to 20ish that should cover you. How long are your cycles normally?
Hope the 2ww passes quick for you Gem That's good your cycles settled down quickly after coming off the pill too

Last month ended in what seems like chemical
(Positive then neg test) will be dtd every other day and between days 14-16 everyday.
Found out the other day it's similar to smep

I'm sure I've been on the Nov thread with a few of you?

CD 9 today
Usually Ov around 16-18

Just had fertility bloods done anythey were okish. OH hasn't had his semen analysis yet. Then it's fc referral for us.

Our LB is 3.5 and it took us ages with him.
Bfp on cycle 17 then mc at 8 weeks.

Got pg again 4/5 months later.

Really been feeling blue and desperate the last month or two.

Out for a meal tonight with family.
Hoping I have a little energy left once we get back Wink

LostMyBaubles yes i recognise you from November bus too. Can I ask, which cycles did you get your bfps with your 1st three?
Foodylicious sorry to hear you're having a tough time. And sorry about your mc that must have been really tough after trying so long. I'm 9 months off bc, this is cycle 6 of actively trying and I'm feeling a bit down about it so don't know how I'll cope if I'm still not pg by cycle 17. Glad you're getting investigations now. Enjoy your meal tonight.

Didn't know as much then about ttc

1st- took 6months but needed b12 injections

2nd took around 3 but again didmt kmeo the ins and outs of ttc

3rd I didn't know I was pregnant and we weren't actively trying lol

Found out my pcos is on both ovaries rather than just the 1
Hopefully won't effect me too much

I've started taking pre natal vits
Had coil out 1st Nov

Yeah @Merrz I’m hoping it goes quickly too but trying not to think about it keeping myself busy. And yeah I’m glad they have come back so quick just hoping the cycle doesn’t get shorter.
And hey @LostMyBaubles, yes we were on Nov and Dec thread together, haven’t been active much on there as only just started tww :) goodluck this month, I’ve done SMEP too this month so fx it’s our month

I'm also doing SMEP. I'm on cd 17 today.. got my positive opk yesterday so dtd yesterday, today and will do it again tomorrow. Think today is probably my ovulation day.

I'm glad I did opks this cycle because it's confirmed to me I get zero noticeable ovulation symptoms! I get no niggles or pains or anything, never have despite having regular cycles. So will be focusing my attention on the right days now. Last cycle we dtd too early and too late

@merrz thanks Smile my cycle is usually 28 days, I have been tracking it from my last period just so I can learn how to work it! It actually did to my surprise predict my period exactly! (Unfortunately that was the same day as my wedding!)

Oh no how annoying she rocked up on your wedding day SparkLee Angry I think ovulation on average occurs between 12 and 16 days before your period so you should definitley have it covered dtd lots cd 10-20
It's a tough journey isn't it, I don't think I'll be too down if I don't get my bfp this cycle because at least can enjoy the Xmas festivities but I think January will be a real downer.
Yay HellaBella definitely looks positive and if you dtd all those times you'll have it covered.

Take Benelyn cough medicine for mucus coughs!
It thins cervical mucus and lets the sperm through.
This helped me get preg after years of trying.
