Hi HannahMTW! Just saw your profile and we're SO similar!! Got exactly the same hobbies and get this - I fell off my bike last Sunday. Spooky.
Also adore Zero 7 (Simple Things my fave album)

Good luck with TTC

Bbabymumma · 16/04/2007 10:50

No AF HannahMTW so still a chance. Is your AF normally late? When are you expecting to get the extra sensitive tests? Symptom spottin is rubbish. I was really nauseas last month - thought fantastic and it turned out to be that d&v bug that everyones had/has got.

Scorpio1 - did i read you were 7 weeks last time before you got a BFP? Can you make the doctors do a blood test - does this show if you are before pee tests? Can anyone help with the kiddies whilst you study? Sounds vhard work!

Lexie100 just read that your dd doesn't sleep well. Tell me about it. Its a girl thing I'm sure.

Bbabymumma · 16/04/2007 10:53

Hi cheechymuncy - our messages crossed! How old is ds? Good luck this month. When is AF due?

Lexie100 · 16/04/2007 10:55

There must be something in the water for such a lot of BNF's but no AF?! Not sure i can suggest anything.

As for BD'ing do you know how to calculate your fertile time? Take 18 from your shortest cylce over the past few months and 11 from your longest cycle e.g. 26-18 = 8 and 32 -11 = 21. Then BD everyother day from the 8th day of your cycle till the 21st day of your cycle and at some stage you'll hit your fertile period.

Hope the sun keeps shining . DD loves playing outside.

Scorpio she's nearly 18 months.

Bbabymumma · 16/04/2007 11:05

I didn't know that re dates. I shall work out if thats why our efforts have been unsuccessful. If you bd every other day couldn't you miss your most fertile bit? Someone put a link to a ferility website at the beginning of this thread I shall investigate.

Met my old post-natal group at weekend - over half pg. Felt really pants.

cheechymunchy · 16/04/2007 11:07

Hi Bbabymumma. DS is just over two and I'm head over heels in love with him. Me and DH were watching him play in the paddling pool yesterday and both felt so proud we were teary. How soppy are we?
AF (probably) due tomorrow. I'm on CD 28 today, and AF on average arrives CD29. My problem is that my LP is ridiculously short and FP very late in cycle. Good in a way because there's very short wait before AF arrives (or hopefully doesn't), but it took forever to discover this. Mind you, all my family seem to BD successfully in May so maybe next month will be my lucky month. Must be something to do with the Bank Holidays...
Right, I'm waffling. can you tell I'm bored at work?

What's your current CD situation?

Bbabymumma · 16/04/2007 11:14

You are not soppy. DD was wearing little skirt with socks and sandals at weekend and I wanted to eat her she looked so cute.

Am on cd18 - used to have a short cycle, but its changed and is all over the place. Conceived dd by accident - used to be so smug about it. Now realise I needed a big slap.

If it doesn't work again this month I'm going to bd every other day all month Not sure what dh will think about this. Initially he thought it was great! Will try the ov sticks. I've given up hope over a week before AF due!

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 11:15

Cheechymunchy - How bizarre so similar! Wel I'm off work coz of the arm so I guess that's pretty cool! Spooky stuff!

Bbabymumma - thanks for keeping me hopeful goodness knows what's going on otherwise! AFs never been later than 31 days so it's almost a week. Last cycle AF came day 29. I ordered the other tests on Sat. They're supposed to be delivered 1st class so should arrive sometime this week.

cheechymunchy · 16/04/2007 11:21

Bbabymumma, I too was the same the first time. We wanted a DC but were taking a casual approach to it. This time round seems to be a nightmare. I recommend ov sticks. Am 3 cycles into using them and they pinpointed my ov date. let's see if this month I'm successful. They gave me the best confirmation of when to BD each cycle.

HannahMTW - lucky you being off work. I only got lots of bruises on legs and a scabby knee (I thought it was only kids that got those). Hope you recover soon.

Am moving to Munich in next 3 months for a few years with DH and DS (promotion for DH). Am SO complacent at work now, and am hoping to hand in my "envelope of freedom" in the next week or so. Hurrah!!! God knows what i'tll be like to give birth in Germany though...

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 11:23

Talking of BDing and when, my DH does all sorts of crazy shifts, he always seems to be on nights or lates when we need to be BDing! Blimmin annoying!! Feel guilty if he's come off a long night, but you'd think he'd be pleased! Does anyone else have shift issues?

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 11:29

Do you have family/friends out there Cheechymunchy? Must be hard uprooting from home. Don't know anything about maternity care, even here let alone Germany! Good luck with it all

cheechymunchy · 16/04/2007 11:35

Don't know anyone in Germany. Am looking forward to the challenge, though, and DS seems still young enough to uproot without missing people too much. I know it'll be difficult for a while but we're a great little team!

DH works in European sales so has to plan business trips around ov time, which has been difficult when I didn't know when that was.

Bbabymumma · 16/04/2007 11:36

My dh is away with work alot so sometimes I've had to grab him as soon as he enters the front door after a 12hr flight. I wonder why we haven't been successful!?

Cheecymunchy - fingers crossed you've done it this month.

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 11:44

Sounds like you'll all be fab together. It'll be really exciting, as you say, new challenges.

Thinking of the ov tests, reckon I might try them next month if it turns out I'm not PG. Being a bit irregular it's hard to know exactly when it's the right time anyway! Night shifts or no!

cheechymunchy · 16/04/2007 11:52

Hannah, I chart my temp but to be honest don't spot any patterns there. I pinpointed average ov time firstly by (TMI) EWCM. Sorry...Once I had that I then bought ov sticks and the following month used them around the same point. Lo and behold, I had found out when I ov, and the last three months it's been at the same CD date (approx). Hope that gives you an idea of something to try. I'll let you know ASAP if I get a BFP. And if not, we'll get through the next month together.

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 12:00

Thank you for that! Will prob give it a go. Are all makes of sticks much the same? Yes do let me know of any news, Keeping everything crossed for you!

cheechymunchy · 16/04/2007 12:05

Bought first batch from chemist about 4 months ago when I didn't really know when to use them. SO expensive, so I bought a batch of 20 from Ebay. Turned up in the post the next day. They don't look so fancy as the big brand ones, but they seem to do the trick ie. results correspond with EWCM (hate that phrase). I'll be singing their praises to you if I'm successful this month! x

Yep it's a delightful phrase isn't it?! Why does it have to be compared to a food! I was gonna say I thought they were pricey. Internet is definitely the place to look. I get the impression the big brands are a bit of a con really! x

scorpio1 · 16/04/2007 12:17

no, no-one ever looks after my children apart from me and nursery when i'm actually at uni. so ive bribed them with a lazy town dvd.will go in garden with them soon, theyre being so good bless them.

I spent a small fortune in clarks for them this morning.....tthey both wanted flashy ones!

i'm just taking it as it comes, im not too hung up on whats happening af-wise.it will be here soon no doubt

scorpio1 · 16/04/2007 12:18

annie-use longest cycle length before tesing for most accurate result

HannahMTW · 16/04/2007 12:31

finger's crossed for you then anniemac! I know it's a pain being irregular, I haven't tried testing for OV yet. I sometimes get a pain but I'm not really sure if it's an ovulation one. Guess I should start monitoring these things! My cycles have never been less than 28 days though.

becklespeckle · 16/04/2007 13:07

Afternoon all! Hope everyone's okay today. Im a bit stressed as DSs have been fighting all morning - I will miss them when they go to school/nursery tomorrow though . Am very tired cos can't seem to stay asleep - keep waking up really thirsty in the night, grr... Never mind!
I have read (somewhere) that AF will usually arrive 12-19 days after ov so if you have an idea when you ov'd but cycles are irregular then I would test around day 14-19. Mine are really irregular but think am on a shortish one this time (for me), think ov'd around CD19 (possibly) so will try to hold out testing until CD34 or so if AF not here by then. Am expecting her though as have the bloating and filled boobs which normally arrive 7-10 days before she does.

Shantih · 16/04/2007 13:08

Just checking in. CD31 3-BFNs so far. Checked my dd1's baby book and saw 1st BFP for her wasn't until CD37. MORE WAITING!!! So much for EARLY testing, huh.

The good news is I know something's happening. I've felt funny in the lower tummy for 7 days. Feels a little like early AF signs but not. Other normal pre-AF symptoms MIA.

Best wishes to everyone this week. Hopefully there will be BFPs all around!!

becklespeckle · 16/04/2007 13:11

Sounds promising Shanith! I am trying not to get my hopes up too high but I think this is the first time for months and months I have ov'd! I know that doesn't mean I am pg (in fact am fairly sure I'm not) but give it another few days and I will be in severe need of the Clearblue Fairy! CD29 here.
