Hope you don't mind me joining in! AF arrived last night on CD 38, never had such a long cycle! Think my bod is teasing me...

So I'm now officially TTC in May! Does anyone know a good place to get cheap ov tests? Haven't used them before but think it'd beworth a try this month, just heard they can be v pricey. DH does all sorts of shifts too so thought it'd be good if I could insist when he gets home at 3 or 7 in the morning that we really need to do some BDing, and here's the ov test evidence! IYKWIM!

thankfully DH is home this time but next cycle he's away a lot - prob over the crucial dates as well! lol.

going43 - as I say our'sd has been 'loosley' until recently, but all I can think of is getting pg - how do u relax enough? DS took 9 cycles.(DH went away mid ttc for 6 months so it was 3 cycles after he got back) current cycles are 28 days - I think that's how they were pre pill - can't rememebr that far back it was sooo long ago! lol.

wurzle - how have you not tested? lol. i'd have done a tonne by now! lol.

I get so upset thou when I test and it's a neg silly I know to test early but i'm sooo impatient. hoping to catch soon thou a jan baby sounds nice.

you can try the ebay ones hannah - I personally didn't like the tests - the whole is the line as dark thing got a bit much! lol. I use persona now which is easier but costs £10 p/m in sticks.

Thanks! Yeah I can see it'd get a bit frustrating! It's just typical that DH is on lates or nights when needed and I work daytime hours, we're often like passing ships! So if I can insist on BDing it may be useful! And of course really he should be happy to oblige!!

meto - I don't think I do relax, I get more wound up each month around ov despite saying I will relax! I conceived first time round with my other pregnancies which is making this even harder as I expected the same to happen again.

I use the clearbluse digital OV sticks, they are very expensive but you have a clear result unlike with the cheaper one which some people find difficult to interperate.

That's useful to know, just looking on access diagnostics website, things seem a bit more reasonably priced on there and a good variety. Not that I'm overly sure how much these things cost!

Meto, i got some cheap ebay tests from a MNer on here, have used one, last month, was a couple days late so thought i'd test.
Was a BFN!
So tomorrow i will know if we were lucky this month. if not then i will be.
I try not too think too much about it all.

I'm trying not to think about it all too much because I'm worried I'll stress myself out and my af won't ever arrive and I'll never get to OV!! and I'm starting to think never say never these days too which makes me .

Quality Save has really cheap OV tests and preg tests; they're only a couple quid each. Also may be Bodycare would be a possibility? But it depends what shops you have near where you live.

Mum2sam ?If things are back to normal, I?ll probably OV between 25th & 27th so the BDing starts in earnest from the weekend onwards! Glad to hear you have been using your TTC goodies, me too. I won?t start on the OPKs or pre-seed until weekend though. Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

Goingfor3 ? sorry you feel disheartened hon are you trying anything ?new? this cycle? That was the only way I kept myself going last time round, having something new to try or give up each cycle! I wasn?t very scientific about it and can?t say what the magic ingredient was but it kept me hoping

HannanMTW ? I hope May is your lucky month! I get all my TTC goodies from Access Diagnostics, generally free things get chucked in with your purchases too.

MrsMcJnr - I started taking some pre-natal vitamins this cycle, I'm also eating much more fruit and veg, I've managed to cut out a fair amount of junk food, I used pre-seed and I have been taking acidofilus to keep thrush away. So I have tried a few new things. I don't imagine there will be anything new to try next month

MrsMcJr - sorry to hear you're not feeling well. What are your symptoms and what are they testing you for? I hope you feel better very soon. I seem to be suffering with some kind of sleeping virus, I can't keep my eyes open past 9pm and have to get DH to haul me out of bed on a morning....really not conducive to BD'ing
Goingfor3 - I do the same and get all anxious around ovulation....I always worry we've started bd'ing too early on day 10 and that we'll be knackered by day 16-18. Now on day 12 and OTK not predicting ovulation yet boo hoo!!

Have just realised that I have been so pre-occupied booking and having tests I haven't thought about when we need to think about BD-ing. I never ov before CD14 and usually more like CD18-19 if I am ovulating which I should find out this month so guess we need to start bding in ernest this time next week (will someone remind me ).

as for tests - I have had PCOS ruled out which is good, possibly a hormonal problem which blood tests should show.

I have used some of the access diagnostic OV tests and they're pretty good - cheap and I don't think its the whole 'is the like darker' but just whether there is a line. I used both these cheapy ones and digital ones last month (I know I know) and they coincided so I am just going to use the cheapy ones this month.

mine are not gaurenteed to be 28 days. I was expecting it today,it normally comes along first thing, but theres still plenty of day left.

I am ov-ing currently and trying to keep a level head this month.

I'm getting my pre af signs of sore boobs already, so I guess it will start soon which means another short cycle for me hopefully not shorter than the last of 23 days or I don't think I will stand any chance of getting pregnant.

Evening Ladies. May I join your therad? Not read it all thru yet but thought I may as well add myself. I've seen a few names I recognise from the April thread and some I'm yet to be acquainted with

My cycle is a bit f*ed up I'm afraid. I think I'm on cd 108! (No AF since Jan 3rd) I went to the doc at the start of the month and am waiting to hear about a scan. Have 1 dd conceived after a fairly relaxed, but long, 3 and a bit years!

Hello again everyone! Hope all is well in the ttc for May! Hope for some BFPs for everyone! Sorry I haven't been on for ages. So, getting married in just over 2 weeks. Everything's pretty much done. I only hope that when I'm a mum one day, I can be as brilliant as my mum cos she's just amazing! We're gettin married in a lil church and there's going to be about 130 people there, so not a massive wedding but a fair size. Got a big white dress and a horse and carriage and I'm really looking forward to it now! Hopefully we'll be having a baby soon because we've always wanted our own family from the start!
