Lose 10 pounds in 7 weeks - anyone like to join me?

MrsMcEasterBunny · 28/03/2007 15:11

Hello we did a thread a bit like this last year and it worked well so I thought I'd try it again.

I have a wedding to go to in 7 weeks and I'd like to lose 10 pounds. I'm going to follow a low fat diet and do more exercise.

I'll post my losses (and any gains) on a Weds morning.

Come and help me!

Welcome Pussycatmomma - Weigh-in is on Wednesday, and other than that it is a free- for all

linjasmom - I am still sulking at putting on 1/2 a lb

It has quietened down a lot on here!! Hope everyone is doing well.

coggy · 20/04/2007 22:00

hey Pusscat .
Very impressed that you started WW on the same day as AF...I generally need a few days to binge eat and drink!!!!!

I have eaten, eaten, EATEN the past few days.
Been down to the clinic every other day this week and it's a good hour and a half away so I've had to eat out at Pizza Hut, cafes, fish resteraunt and other nice yummy places!!
Nice for me...not so good for the waistline!

coggy · 20/04/2007 22:01

restaurant.............is that better!?!

theheadgirl · 21/04/2007 16:06

Hi everyone - it has got a bit quiet you are right Ready. Hope everyone is OK, and still feeling motivated. This Wednesday will be our 4th weigh in, so don't give up everyone.

I had a very bad day yesterday, ate out twice, but now I'm back on course. I still want to try to improve the amount of exercise I do. Lets see how things are looking on Wednesday.

pussycatmomma · 21/04/2007 17:52

hellooooooo
Thanks for all the welcomes everyone...
I will have to give you my weigh in on a thursday night as that is the day of the ww meeting, and I dont have scales in the house (tool of the devil!). So mine will just have to be the last horse in.
First day was fine, today has been ok. I am doing the ww one where you dont count the points you just eat foods off the big list, i think it is called The Core Plan. I'll see how I do with it this week and might swap if I dont lose anything.
Have a great weekend everyone, enjoy the sunshine if you get some! (((waves )))
xxx
by the way love the idea of having a Headgirl cheering us all on with the ttc, how kind are you!!

theheadgirl · 21/04/2007 18:12

Thank you pussycat but don't picture me cheering you on whilst you are doing the deed - I am sure it will put you off!

Ready · 21/04/2007 18:22

PCM - Intrigued. I do WW pure points (don't go to meetings, only got the books). How long is this list?? I am not sure I could cope with having foods that are off-limits. I love my 2 squares of Green&Blacks as a treat.

Ready · 21/04/2007 18:27

Theheadgirl - I am still motivated, despite gaining 1/2 a lb last week - Have been really good this week (so far) to compensate for it. Today I have hoovered like a woman possessed - I use the hose rather than push the Dyson around - so pretty virtuous. And was in the garden for a few hours, weeding, leaf clearing, mulching and looking all smug at neighbours garden - not a patch on ours Our pear and apple trees are blossoming, and look fan-dabby-dozy! So I think I have burned off some calories today! I hope it pays off on Wednesday!

Ready · 21/04/2007 18:29

Coggy - You are allowed to EAT, you are going through lots! I know that is not what I should be saying on a weight-loss thread - but pah! How are you feeling? Fingers and toes crossed.

linjasmom · 22/04/2007 00:15

Hello everybody, I did some walking plus housework today so have worked off some calories, but also ate pizza with some friends today. 10 minutes in my mouth and 10 years on my hips I am afraid.... Oh well, it did taste fab! Won't be on a few days now, off on vacation! Ta-ta

coggy · 22/04/2007 11:37

Oooh! I love the pah! Ready!!!!!
I'm afraid that rather sums up my eating this week thus far!!!!!

I feel fine...much more positive again (about ttc)...now I just have to wait for another two weeks or so without resorting to raiding the food cupboard too much!!!
Already had two sausages, two apples and a piece of fruit cake and only 2 days down.....14 to go!!!

I also do the core plan like PCM.....you can have 21 points a week on top of eating freely from the special list (!) so you cam still have your chocolate treat every day.

Ready · 22/04/2007 14:28

Pah!

coggy - I am so pleased that you are feeling confident. And I so hope it works out for you. Do you think the hormones make you hungry??

Linjasmom - Have a great holiday!

coggy · 22/04/2007 16:58

Urmmmmmmmmmm...sadly I don't think that it is the hormones.....just me at home with DH at work....feeling bored with the fridge full off bar-be-que left-overs.....

Oh...and more fruit cake gone down too!!
At least I'm balancing the cake and sausages with equal number of organic apples??!!!!

Ready · 22/04/2007 17:49

Coggy - Get some celery in there, it burns off calories

pussycatmomma · 22/04/2007 20:14

oooh coggy we are diet buddies if we are doing the same one! Think i am using up my points on wine so far! !
Have you had much success with the core thing or do you switch from that to counting points?

Ready · 23/04/2007 14:15

So.... what is on this good list?? Just give me an idea would ya?

MrsMcJnr · 23/04/2007 17:01

Plan to catch up on this later, just putting it back on my threads!

coggy · 23/04/2007 18:50

Pusscat.....I started about 8/9 weeks ago I think (although I have missed a couple of classes) and lost 10 1/2 pounds doing the core plan....only got 3 1/2 to go before target! HURRAH!

Ready....all fruit and veg. (not dried fruit)
low fat yogs, low fat cream cheese, lean meat, pasta, potatoes.....urm........'good' cereals like porridge, no sugar stuff.......diet drinks, skimmed milk.......all the kinds of things I would eat on a healthy diet anyway so I don't feel as if I'm on a 'diet' as such...just eating healthily.
Which was obviously a challenge in itself over the weekend!!!!

Ready · 23/04/2007 19:22

Bloody hell Coggy - that is fab! Well done you!! I think you deserve 2 weeks off, well half off perhaps
That list sounds good - we eat a lot of chicken and pasta, is there a limit to the amounts??
And fruit aswell, that is good - because on the points plan, fruit costs points. I might have to pay to go and get all the bumpf on this core plan... although the pure points works for me when I am strict at 20 points.

pussycatmomma · 23/04/2007 21:47

wow Coggy!
You have once again proved to be my inspiration!!! Well done!! I am very impressed indeed
I also dont really feel like it is a diet, just healthy eating, but quite strict - I didnt realise how much I eat without thinking, until I put a limit on myself
But sticking to 3 meals and only eating till you are "comfortably satisfied"......hmmm, cant be that easy surely?
xxx love to all.
will post on your other thread coggs about ttc stuff!

MrsMcJnr · 24/04/2007 16:49

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you it?s not that I?ve been especially naughty (though did have lots of Magners at the weekend ) just been busy in RL ? not really exercising but that said, I?ve had 5 very long walks since last weigh day, fingers crossed! Feeling a bit bloated and fat though, think that?s got to do with OV approaching (this week?s excuse!) So how are you all? I?d better have a look and see

Thank you theheadgirl for my bar of Divine, never had it so there?s a new chocolate experience to be had! I like the cheer leader idea too ? got a slogan?

mumto3girls, you?ve got to give up the coke! It?s full of sooo many badies, especially diet coke. I used to be/am an addict, it?s been 18 weeks since my last can ? I gave up when I got pg and never took it back up again. One good thing that came out of my brief pregnancy I guess

Coggy ? you must have been pretty fed up to miss you weigh in! Think you deserved all those tasty treats on the pleasure v pain principle don?t you? You weight loss is superb , well done, I am so of your resolve and motivation! Apparently the secret is finding more pleasure in changing than not changing but hey, I just want to be changed without having to do the changing!!

Ah the return of Roskva ? we thought we?d lost you! Glad we didn?t welcome back!

Hello Linjasmom feeling a bit better thanks. I hope you are having a lovely holiday. Were you going away anywhere?

Hello Pussycatmama ? I feel like MN royalty has arrived we have the Queen Bee with us ? yippeeee! how are you doing? It?s been a while since we spoke. How did your first WW go? I go to Scottish Slimmers (well, am meant to, re-joining since MC next week) but still use all the recipes I got at WW too. They?re yummy, use them for dinner parties too, no one realises! The rules are that we weigh on on a Weds and post losses or gains or stay the sames and each week we all collectively try to hit a joint target! We chat in between times to resist the urges to be bad and to gloat about being good and some lovelies even post recipes! It?s fun and yes, takes our minds off TTC. We also have quite a few on here who are not TTC so it?s a good break from thinking about it 24/7. It?s Ok for you to post on a Thurs I usually don?t do the summary until Friday but I am really late with last weeks so here goes!!

10 of us posted last week, we lost 8 ¼ but put on 3 ¼ so total loss this week was 5 pounds.
4 didn?t post and we have a new lady this week.

Welcome back MrsMc
My slogan is:
Gimme a B
Gimme an F
Gimme a P
[finish with the splits, whilst waving pom-poms]

coggy · 24/04/2007 18:33

Oooh! I like it!!!

Could I suggest a slight addition though?

Gimme a B
Gimme an F
Gimme a P
And watch what you're eating for your tea!

[finish with the splits, whilst waving pom-poms]

I do so like rhymes!!!!!

Yes...I know.....SPOTTER...I am...I confess!!!!

That's pretty poor for 10 of us isn't it?
A 5 pound loss?
Weren't we aiming for 15??

I have eaten LODS of naughties this weekend.....don't think I'll add much to this week's loss total.....sorry!

pussycatmomma · 24/04/2007 19:35

Mrsmc you are soooooooooooo kind. I now have a big smile on my face....I am really not mn royalty but it feels such a pleasure to be named as one! Thank you
Well Im 5days in to the ww and have been really good so far this week. My worst time seems to be the afternoons, when i get in from work until we eat our evening meal. At least with this one it really is just healthy eating and watching portion sizes......Did anyone watch "superskinny me, the race to size double zero" on sunday evening?? and that it was actually on tv, almost like a do-it-yourself guide . To see the mental disturbance unravelling for the sake of a tv experiment......not good.
On a brighter note, hurray!!! took my last clomid for this month so normality will hopefully resume shortly!!
xxxx

eclipse · 24/04/2007 21:20

Hi, all. Got a bit of a shock when I saw the list of names waiting for tomorrow's weigh-in on MrsMc's post. Had a bit of a panic attack. Know it's not going to be good and I blame the Magners too. And lots of 'em.

Like the pom pom thing. Maybe we need a chant for the week to keep us away from the fridge/bar. I have no literary, musical or dancing talents. Coggy and theheadgirl should perhaps slip into their sparkly leotards and come up with a ditty and dance for the week...
