As far as I'm aware, you don't can't get a false positive- only a false negative. So even a faint line prob means you're preg.

Good news?

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 20:38

I will definitely have to test again because I don't believe it myself... good news and bad news.. I'd be delighted but after suffering to mc the uncertainity I will feel is not the most exciting prospect.. a line is a line don't you think- why did I do it... my dh will go crazy so will not tell him.. will wait unitl sat to test again.. but I don;t have any symptoms except for massive hormone spots/boils.. boobs are sore but they are always are this time of month...

Sadly I haven't but in my experience in other MN threads the response usually confirms that faint or not it is likely to be BFP

I hope it works out how you want it to, let us know how you get on

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 20:45

thanks cityangel... I can only see it in sunlight and held over a light bulb but it is defnitely there.. it is a 10miu from ebay test so it probably won't show up on a clearblue until the weekend...

I'm trying to not get excited.. kept smiling when dh came home after work, think he thinks I'm up to no good- probably right- is houldn't have tested and I wouldn't be sitting here convincing myself that it is OK to have another piece of chocolate cake...!

I tested with an ebay test a week before I was due on, and got a very faint postive. I am now 6 weeks pregnant

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 20:57

sparkly yopu are as naughty as me!!! I think it's because they are cheap I allow myself to get swept up in the moment- congrats hun x

some of the cheap tests are unreliable. I do remember a thread from some time back where poster had tested with a cheap test and there was a line only for that line to fade as she carried on testing over coming days and her period arrived right on time.

try not to get your hopes up, it's extremely early to get a positive result.

SparklyGothKat · 14/03/2007 21:07

I kept testing and the line got stronger and stronger, I ended up getting a first response test and there it was, a BFP!!!

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 21:11

I am really trying not to get excited but keep going upstairs and looking at it.. the urge to wee on it again to see if the line gets stronger is over whelming but also gross! I know that there is a massive chance that it will amount to nothing and I will be nursing a big pack of tampax this time next week but it felt diufferent this month I had immense pain during ovulation and no CM whch is very unusual for me... we had bd from day 7 until day 20 so tried to cover all bases, I was told that the lack of cm was maybe due to the amount of bd... but ovulation was a killer and I spotted yesterday which is not like me.. stmptom spotting or what!!

SparklyGothKat · 14/03/2007 21:13

I had huge pain when I ovulated last month too, I had to take painkillers. I would wait a few days tbh (though I did test lots )

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 21:21

oooh its sounding good.. I am going to have to be very very very strong and stay away from boots... and superdrug and every chemist in the immediate area!!! Its all I can think about...

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 14/03/2007 21:23

I got the faint postive on the tuesday, wasn't due on till the following tuesday, got a first response on the friday and it was strong postive. So stay away from boots (where they are BOGOF) till at least the weekend lol

bluebell82 · 14/03/2007 21:25

will stay tuned I will let you know on this thread sat am... probably at 6am as I won't be able sleep!!!

feedmenow · 17/03/2007 09:55

Any news Bluebell?

SparklyGothKat · 17/03/2007 17:36

Bluebell, you about? any news?

bluebell82 · 19/03/2007 13:02

hi guys- well didn't test over the weekend thought I would leave to fate. I am due tomorrow and have had amlittle bleed this morning but stopped no pain as usual but apart from v.sore boobs no other symptoms so maybe this is the curse of testing too early!

If my period does come with avengence I will start agnus castus as it got me pregnant last time!

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 19/03/2007 18:00

I think you should test again. Could have been a implantion bleed.

fruitful · 19/03/2007 18:37

But you wouldn't get a bfp before implantation would you?

rubles · 19/03/2007 18:44

People get 'implantation' bleeds at any time in the first trimester. It seems to be a catch all phrase for unexplained spotting which seems quite common.
