This 2ww is dragging even more than usual, I'm only on cd18 of a 33day cycle Sad

Anyone else in the 2ww needing some support?

Bfn :( 11dpo

I guess it's hard knowing what the pattern was last time and thinking it will be the same a second time.

Bizzle123 · 09/01/2017 08:51

Hi all,

I'm in the dreaded 2ww and have just found this thread. Time goes so slowly doesn't it! Congratulations to those of you with BFP's and fingers crossed for everyone else!

I have a question. I (think) I am 11DPO and did a test this morning (Tesco own brand) and I'm confused by the result. You need two vertical lines for a positive. I got the faintest of faintest vertical lines in the test window but also a faint horizontal line. When I looked 30 mins later (so well after the 10 mins they say to discard the test), the horizontal line had gone but the super faint vertical line was still there. I know they say any faint line is a positive but if there's a horizontal line does that mean the test didn't work? Does anyone have any experience?

I will get a FRER in my lunch break and test again but I'm so desperate to know!

Bizzle123 · 09/01/2017 08:53

Also if I get a FRER test, should I wait till tomorrow to use a FMU, or because it's more sensitive, will be it be ok to try today do you think? Thanks everyone.

mrsbarnettsbaby · 09/01/2017 08:56

I'm cd27. However my cycles recently have ranged from 67-14 days. So I'm not testing til Saturday. Unless I cave in! FX everyone.

yellowpostitnote · 09/01/2017 09:25

Bizzle, you could try with today's wee as I remember doing so first time round and results were still visible but morning might be stronger wee and stronger hcg.

I'd not be able to not test today!

yellowpostitnote · 09/01/2017 09:58

I'm super achey; I suspect af actually. Ah well, I'll be able to drink some champers on my 40th!

Bizzle123 · 09/01/2017 11:27

Thanks Yellowpostit, I don't think I can wait till tomorrow but also not sure I can bare to get a negative today as it will still be uncertain. But I expect I'll end up testing! Sorry to hear you think AF is on the way. Keeping fingers crossed they are pregnancy signs instead. Will you test again tomorrow if no AF? 11DPO is still early...

yellowpostitnote · 09/01/2017 11:33

Yes I will still test. According to my app (which is jolly accurate) af is due tomorrow though that would be a very short cycle of 22 days, usually 24-27. I had quinsy just before xmas so may have thrown things. I am on thyroxine so need to know asap as I will raise it when I've a few days of bfps. that's my poas-crazy excuse

Icklepickle101 · 09/01/2017 12:01

Cd29 2 days till AF and feeling a bit fed up of ttc. I resisted testing this morning because I couldn't face another bfn, will wait until Wednesday as then I know it's accurate either way. Good luck ladies!

I didn't resist testing, wish I had though, af due in 3 days and got a BFN :-(

Pinkbottletop · 09/01/2017 14:15

Sorry for the BFN Highland.

Today is first day of missed AF and I took a test. BFP!

Any 2ww buddies?
Redpony1 · 09/01/2017 14:58

Congrats Pink !!

yellowpostitnote · 09/01/2017 14:58

Congratulations! How exciting!

Any symptoms so we can compare Wink

My bosom is very achey and seems bigger. I don't usually get any boob issues with pmt.

user1471495191 · 09/01/2017 15:49

Aww that's great - congrats pink!

Re. Symptoms I still don't have any (didn't with my first either - in fact just felt really well until I was around 6wks) so no symptoms doesn't mean all is lost...

Bubblegum89 · 09/01/2017 16:04

Can your pms symptoms change randomly? I started my periods when I was 12, went on pill at 17. Came off when pregnant and a couple of years after as I was single. Ever since I can remember, my symptoms have been slight mild cramping a day or two before af and mood swings whether I've been on birth control or not. The only time I've had sore boobs is the two times I've been pregnant. But after my bfn yesterday, I'm convinced af is on its way even though my boobs have been constantly sore and tender for almost 2 weeks. In 15 years my symptoms have never changed but can they have changed now?

Charley2016 · 09/01/2017 16:47

Hi everyone, congrats on all the BFPs and FX for all those still waiting to test. I was on the boards a lot last month but I got really down when AF arrived so I decided to have a month off. I'm now due AF tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed she stays away! Tested this morning with an IC as I've been feeling strange all weekend but BFN so far, although I think I O'd a few days late! Didn't OPK this month and if I did O a few days late then I hadn't BD for a few days before so I'm kind of going between thinking I may be and thinking there's very little chance. Only time will tell I suppose Smile

ElevenBells · 09/01/2017 17:02

Hi ladies do you mind if I join you?
Congrats on the bfp's. very encouraging Smile

I'm (possibly) 10dpo and caved and did a CB test. It was blank for a while so I assumed it was a duff test and binned it. Went and fished it out the bin a little while late and it was BFN Sad

So....should I trust the result or have I a) tested too early or b) used a dodgy test which isn't reliable?

user1471495191 · 09/01/2017 17:35

Hi elevenbells 10dpo is early. I find first response tests far clearer and more sensitive than clear blue. For some reason I can only seem to find CB in the shops at the moment. I tried a couple and didn't get a very clear result either way. I ended up ordering my old favourite FRER via Amazon prime and got my first faint positive at approx 11dpo - good luck!

ElevenBells · 09/01/2017 17:41

Thanks user!
I've just order some FRER from amazon. When they arrive I'm going to ask dh to hide them until AF due on Sat. Still keeping everything crossed!

AFireInside · 09/01/2017 17:47

yellow Sorry to hear about your bfn Flowers.
pinkbottle congratulations Flowers yay!!!!!

FX for everyone else & welcome to all of the new ladies Smile.
I'm now 15DPO & CD29. Hmmmmmm. No signs of anything yet. If AF doesnt come on 11/01 I will POAS again.

user1471495191 · 09/01/2017 17:49

bizzle - that's sounds like it might be positive but I would def test with a FRER to be sure. As I said above I find them much, much clearer. If you were pregnant enough for a blue test to show something, then a pink test should come back stronger.

Charley2016 · 09/01/2017 17:52

Eleven I would definitely test again at the weekend!!

User I always say FRER are my favourite but given I've never had more than sparkly white on anything I don't know why haha!

Fire I'm going to try hold out until Wednesday too! I only have IC and can't get to a shop until tomorrow so if no AF by Wednesday morning I'll try then too Smile

AFireInside · 09/01/2017 17:56

charley yes to sparkly white Grin! I did POAS on Saturday and consequently was straining my eyes to see a line but no!
I only have one ClearBlue blue dye test left. Am I going wrong by not having a pink dye test? Do I need to get a FRER?

Charley2016 · 09/01/2017 18:04

Fire I think it's just from reading on here that sometimes the blue dyes are harder to read! To be honest if I got even a hint of a line on anything I'd probably run out and buy every test going to assure myself it was real haha!

How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

Pinkbottletop · 09/01/2017 18:05

Thanks everyone.

First cycle I symptom watched constantly and convinced myself I was pregnant. I wasn't. This cycle (2) I tried not to think about it but I've had really really sore boobs and mood swings. No implantation bleeding but cramping has started today. So has nausea.
