June Bus anyone?!

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

Please bear with me for the duration of my post but I would really appreciate anyone's advice because I'm having a crazy moment.

I was talking to my friend earlier about my cycle length (she's also TTC) and she said that regardless of how long a woman's cycle is her Luteal phase will always typically be 12-14 days and long cycle lengths are because ovulation occurs later than expected. When we applied this to my situation, based on my period arriving this morning, it would mean that I probably would have ovulated somewhere between the cycle days of 18 through to 20.

I had gotten a strong OPK on CD17 so I had taken that to mean I had ovulated but I have since read that ovulation can take place anywhere between 12-72 hours after the LH surge occurs which would also put me at potentially ovulating in the window of CD18 through to CD20.

Me and DH had DTD on CD 16, 18 and 20.

Usually when I get my period I wake up to a bright red flood (sorry for TMI) but this morning the only way I realised was because upon wiping I had some dark red/dark brown blood on the tissue paper. I assumed AF had started and popped a sanitary towel in but when I checked again about 2 hours later there was still only a few areas of dry, brown blood, almost like how things look at the very end of a period, whereas my period is normally bright red and extremely heavy from as soon as it starts.

I then started to think that if I had actually ovulated on CD20 then I would now be 11/12dpo and maybe this was some kind of implantation bleeding?

However, a few hours later I had some really awful cramps and when I went to check out the knicker situation there was a small amount of red blood on my pad and a good volume of red blood when I wiped so I assumed it was AF after all, changed my pad and thought nothing of it.

However, about another 2 hours after that I went for another wee and was very surprised to see there was nothing but a few spots of dark brown blood on the pad and absolutely nothing on the tissue paper when I wiped.

I don't get it?
What is my body up to?

I've just been to have another inspection, still no more fresh blood on my pad and despite having a little dig around inside with some toilet paper (tmi) there was still only minimal brown blood on the paper afterwards.

I'm almost, almost tempted to test again.....

Someone please virtually slap me around the face.....

I'm driving myself absolutely bananas constantly testing this month - even though I've still got 5 days before my AF. Get pretty down when I see the inevitable BFN even though I know that's what I'm gonna get. Tomorrow morning will be tough if it comes back bfn again, trying to prepare for the worst but I seem to be pretty convinced that this is the month it will happen. Any tips for staying sane??!!

wispaxmas · 06/06/2016 15:43

writer, I think implantation bleeds are really light, as in a just when you wipe kinda thing. I could be wrong, but that's what I had. Maybe they can vary, though. I think it's probably a 'wait a day and see' kind of situation.

Barefootcontessa84 · 06/06/2016 15:59

BFN for me at 10dpo.... Still keeping my hopes up a bit because I had some small brown spotting a few days ago which is very unusual for me, and also some mild cramping for days. I'll test again in a few days I think - anyone had a BFN before a BFP...?

Haha ladies I have ages - I'm only 5-6dpo, I'm so useless at waiting!!
So nice to have good news on here to cheer us all up and give us hope Smile

AF arrived today. That's cycle 9 gone. Of course it was two days late which made me think that maybe we had finally done it but not so. I am starting to feel so worried now.
I'm 34 and would like at least two children and we are still ttc#1. Lots of my friends took a while but I think with this cycle gone I am officially the longest. Can't bear to think about not being able to have children. Have had regular blood tests and an internal scan and my dh has had a semen assessment. This month I am having the day 21 blood test and after that they said they will refer me to a fertility consultant (they think I have been trying 13 months-has to be done to get the ball rolling!) sorry for the moan, feel so worried today. Congrats to all for the BFPs!

JessJR23 · 06/06/2016 16:48

mbire what supplements are you taking? And barefoot I had BFN on 11pdo and then faint bfp on 12dop along with confirmation with a digital test. writer I can't advise as I have never has spotting... I am either on or I am not. Sounds like you dtd all the right days though... maybe wait until tomorrow if you can bear it? X

Mbire · 06/06/2016 16:53

Hi jess I took Pregnacare Ttc for a few months, then took 7 seas for 2 but just bought more Pregnacare. I need to be better at remembering though. Do you think it makes a big difference? I think I will completely go off alcohol for this month too. Cannot believe it's taking this longSad

Linzi2198 · 06/06/2016 17:40

Mbire - I swear Angus Castus helped me first time round. I'd been taking it for ages to help with pms symptoms and when I did ttc, got bfp 1st go. You have to take it for the start of your cycle only as I don't think you're supposed to take it when pregnant but lots of ppl swear by it.

I never started taking it again after having ds as my pms symptoms never returned in the same way but if I don't get bfp this week I'll be back on them. You can get it loads of places but you may want to check out reviews on Amazon rather than just take my word for it. Good luck (to us both!) x

Poppydm · 06/06/2016 17:44

Congratulations Friendly - great news Flowers
Writer that's a bit strange. Which cycle are you in? Have you had anything else since your last post?
Well I had those positive OPKs (2) yesterday so managed to DTD AGAIN last night (5th time this week). Did another OPK test just now and it's still a strong positive? How long do they last for? Been pretty strong for over 24 hours now. Surely I can't have to make it 6 tonight? Any advice? X

June Bus anyone?!
Mbire · 06/06/2016 18:20

Thanks Linzi I will definitely have a look for it and get some. I'll try anything at this stage... Yes good luck to us all! Wink

MrsGsnow18 · 06/06/2016 18:50

Congratulations friendly!! How exciting!! Some good news on the bus too!

I bought Angus Castus in Holland and Barrett a few weeks ago ( I read online it can help lengthen short luteal phase and help with ovulation) but it says on the box not suitable if you a pregnant or trying to conceive and then I read very mixed reviews online and was afraid to take it.

GinandJazzHands · 06/06/2016 20:06

babydances thinking of you Flowers
writer I think this is potentially a very good sign. One of the more recent buses had a BFP after the lucky lady thought AF had arrived and then it wasn't as red and heavy, stopped and started etc so I am hugely crossing my fingers for you!
Friendly whoop congrats! Great news.

GinandJazzHands · 06/06/2016 20:17

Hi Mbire I'm sorry AF got you againFlowers. I am 34 and TTC #1 but would like 2 too. I'm only six months in which is also only 4 cycles as they've been long and irregular. Haven't been to GP or sought any help yet as I thought you had to wait a year. Have lots of friends who have said how quickly they have conceived so getting similar worries. Did you go private for blood tests and scans etc? What were the original blood tests looking for? Don't want to make a nuisance of myself with GP but having similar concerns and not sure what my options are. Temps are confirming I am ovulating, just late and not around the same time each month.

GinandJazzHands · 06/06/2016 20:23

Well done Poppy on your DTD marathon! As writer says above you can OV between 12-72 hours after your surge so I'd keep going if you can stick it but try not to panic as you've done a sterling job already! Worth also adding that the one time I had an LH surge that lasted for days on end it was a 'false' surge - basically where your body tries to OV and doesn't. I ovulated properly with a second surge later in the month. If you are temping you will spot a false surge as your temps won't go up. Probably not happening to you but is common apparently so thought I'd share just in case. Sperms can live for up to 4 days apparently though so sounds like you've a good chance. Fx for you!

FriendlyGhost · 06/06/2016 20:27

Thank you everyone! It feels so surreal!
Writer I've just been reading about early pregnancy and apparently implantation bleeding can last up to 5 days on and off so I wouldn't give up hope just yet. How are you feeling now?

haveacupoftea · 06/06/2016 20:33

Congratulations Friendly Grin
Writer when I had IB before it was very watery brown. I think it depends on the person who is having it though Flowers

haveacupoftea · 06/06/2016 20:35

I am fed up this evening...been testing with opks the last couple of days and still no positive Angry i am on CD15, yesterday CP was soft, open, today it seems to be closed...have a few O symptoms like sore bbs, feeling a bit sicky. Hopefully I still O'd and OPKs just arent for me.

Poppydm · 06/06/2016 20:38

Thanks for the advice Gin. I've not been temping so guess we'll just have to wait and see. Back to work today and feel exhausted so not sure I can face it again tonight. You know when all you want is an early night and a snuggle? Guess I'll class myself as going into the 2WW for the first time.
Have you told your DH friendly? Did you have many early symptoms?

Poppydm · 06/06/2016 20:40

Have a cup of tea, I was exactly the same then got positive OPKs CD17 and 18. Prob still worth checking over the next few days.

GinandJazzHands · 06/06/2016 20:43

Hey tea how regular are your cycles normally? I agree with poppy keep testing just in case.

Wibblewobble100 · 06/06/2016 20:48

Congrats friendly a BIG FP!
I tested again this am BFN😟. Ovia says I'm day one again but no sign of AF yet. Until I got obsessed by TTC I thought I was regular ( and I know I am really) but now the difference between 27 and 30 days is torture.
Still I am positive for next cycle and invested in some opks for the first time. While I was in Boots I noticed FRER tests are buy one get one free - just to encourage more excessive peeing on sticks.
Sorry for all those having tough times, BFNs and AF, hopefully next cycle will be easier for us all.

Wibblewobble100 · 06/06/2016 20:50

By the way tea, my friend told me today that she never got positive opks - she found tempting way more reliable for her and it lead to two beautiful babies!

Wibblewobble100 · 06/06/2016 20:51

Temping not tempting

MizzisDee · 06/06/2016 20:52

Congratulations Friendly!

Writer, my fingers are crossed very heavily for you, and others still on the bus.

I've added another frustration to the regular 2WW frustration, thrush. I've had it before, only ever when on antibiotics for my evil wisdom tooth I finally got rid of at the end of last year, but it is back randomly. And I'm going to have to make a doctor's appointment because frustratingly (only because I hadn't thought until she asked, obviously her job is to keep me and what may or may not be lurking in my womb safe) the pharmacist wouldn't let me have anything because I can't guarantee I'm not pregnant.

Getting an appointment will involve having to describe having thrush and why I can't just get anything from a pharmacy like everyone else - and I have no way I can see of making/taking a private phonecall to do this. Ugh.
