Barefootcontessa84 · 02/05/2016 22:59

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

babydances - I've been googling today about symptoms a woman can have from the day after conception Grin

FriendlyGhost · 25/05/2016 16:57

Writer, my mum is convinced she knew she was pregnant with my sister the day after she was conceived. She said she had a really bad headache and just felt off all day. Had anyone else said this I wouldn't have believed them but my mum is usually very sensible about these things. I suppose it could have been down to some sort of hormone surge so you possibly can have some very early symptoms.

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 17:17

I was reading an article that said hormone surges and changes start to occur as soon as conception has taken place in order to make the uterus a suitable environment for a fertilised egg.

The article recognised that actual pregnancy symptoms can't occur until the egg is implanted and is releasing HCG but accepts that conception itself can cause symptoms that women can be aware of.

So ladies today I just realised I am now a full on crazy ttc. Somehow managed to wake husband up at 6ish this morning because I felt I might have EWCM and wanted to squeeze in dtd before work Blush
OPK said not ovulating though!

Anyone else feeling like a complete looney recently?

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 18:08

I got my EWCM one morning alongside a negative OPK but when I tested again three hours later I had a really obvious second line. I then tested again at about 7pm and it was super strong positive.

Keep testing as the surge can come on quite quickly I believe..

MizzisDee · 25/05/2016 18:14

Welcome to all the newcomers.

It's great hearing stories from those of you with DC alreay who've done all this before. I feel like such a novice!

You'll be pleased to know DH turned up eventually last night, not too late either and really apologetic when I explained why I'd been a bit annoyed Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 18:20

And did he deliver his goods? Grin

I was talking to my friend yesterday about the romance of TTC sex!! When me and DH were TTC our DS I kept laughing during sex because it suddenly seemed very perfunctory and unnatural Grin

Butterpuff · 25/05/2016 18:32

MizzisDee I have a 14 Month dd.....but still feel like a novice! I'm not sure that ever changes. Grin I was wondering earlier who you contact after bfp local mlu or docs. I can't remember! Though I do remember that they were mo where near as excited as me and I had to wait ages to see anyone!

Sunshineface123 · 25/05/2016 19:24

I've also got ewcm today but neg opk! Weird as cd14 don't usually ov till cd18...just try to do the deed as much possible starting now I guess!

FriendlyGhost · 25/05/2016 19:32

I'm still a novice too with an almost 18 month old. I'm just making stuff up as I go along! She still breastfeeds on demand and doesn't sleep through so no idea how I will cope with the exhaustion and sickness of pregnancy but somehow I'm desperate to do it all again. I think I must be slightly in denial.
Butterpuff I remember last time I went to the dr at about 6 weeks pregnant because I was so excited. I couldn't believe that he didn't even bother doing a test to check. He just told me he'd fill in the paperwork to refer me to a midwife and sent me on my way. I don't know what I expected but I left feeling a bit disappointed. Had to wait until I was 11 weeks to see the midwife. It felt like forever!

haveacupoftea · 25/05/2016 19:50

Sorry i didnt give my full details...

Age 30
TTC #1
CYCLE #1
ETD: 21st June

AF came yesterday so am on CD2...almost the worst time of the month because you can't do anything!

babydances · 25/05/2016 20:12

What does EWCM mean? Yes sex dtd feels really rubbish since ttc. Feels like quantity over qualityband I feel sad and bad about that

Hidingthefear · 25/05/2016 20:30

Need to go back and Catch up on all your chinwagging as ttc hasn'the been on my mind. House sale has fallen through so then we were going to be living with fil and now it might be back on and friggin af is still here and I really wish she would piss off now. So I'm not feeling very calm and also second guessing if ttc is actually a good idea if we might technically be homeless.
friendlyghost I'll join you with the boobing and no sleep. God knows why I want to do this all again but I really do.
I've had this strange realisation that you're actually real people because I've just got back from meeting a bunch of mumsnetters that I started talking to in 2014 when I conceived my first.and the idea that were sharing this journey is pretty exciting. That sounded pretty soppy but it was just a nice thought I had lol

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 20:35

friendlyghost - another one still breast feeding here. He used to be an awful sleeper, waking up for feeds all the time, and when he was 10 months old I paid a Sleep Consultant to help me as I was getting about 4 hours sleep (broken sleep) a night and I just couldn't cope.

He's 2yr 2m now and thankfully he sleeps 8pm-6am so I'm hoping I will be ok coping with just one new bad sleeper in the form of a newborn Grin

babydances EWCM is Egg White Cervical Mucus which is the type of vaginal discharge that occurs around ovulation and is optimum for conception. If you google it you will see lots of images of what it looks like.

Blondie0912 · 25/05/2016 20:38

Haven't been on in a few days and man has this thread blown up!
hiding I'm so sorry your house fell through! Buying a property is such a stressful time!!!!!! However I always think it's "not meant to be" when stuff like that happens! You'll find something better Grin
babydances EWCM means (eew sorry this is gross) egg-white cervical mucas...

And I agree with all of you about baby-making DTD.... Also, I always seem to find that during my FW it's always so difficult to DTD as much as I want just because of everyday life!!!!!! So jealous of people who get PG by accident now!!!!! Haha!

babydances · 25/05/2016 21:08

I've not had any of that egg white looking CM just wet and some white (tmi) is that not normal? Sad

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 21:15

There are various types of CM and they are all relevant to where in your cycle you are in terms of pre-fertile, fertile and post-fertile.

There's lots of information on Google. I don't know the relevance of any of them except EWCM Grin

babydances · 25/05/2016 21:17

Tomorrow is my predicted ovulatating date. My cervix is super open and high and soft so hoping that's a good sign. As previous post last week I don't know for sure if in ovulating as my implant is still in my arm for 9 months out of date and waiting for aneasthiec allergy test to take it out

CinnamonTwist · 25/05/2016 21:40

babydances most women only get EWCM one or 2 days a month, so if you haven't ovulated yet you probably won't have had any yet. I only noticed it this month as I knew what it was, before that I wouldn't have even thought about it!

babydances · 25/05/2016 21:46

Ok thank you cinnamontwist fingers crossed. We've been dtd almost everyday so I really hope I am ovulating

babydances · 25/05/2016 21:48

For those who have had this was it clear and stringy?

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2016 22:27

Mine was clear and stretchy.

I'm 3dpo and still having sex 'just in case' and to cover all bases.

A woman I know was using OPKs and also temping and she found that she didn't actually ovulate until 48 hours after her positive OPK.

From being a member of the conception boards for quite some time I see a lot of posts from women who get their BFN and feel it's because they stopped DTD too soon as they assumed that after the OPK there really wasn't much point (in a TTC way of course).

I wasn't really in the mood tonight to be honest but I mustered up the energy from somewhere as I don't want any "what ifs..." if I don't get my BFP this cycle.

Dustycorners · 25/05/2016 22:42

Another one here still breastfeeding! DS is 13 months and still wakes at night too. And yet, I really want to do it all again - crazy! Confused

FriendlyGhost · 25/05/2016 23:18

Hiding I'm also in touch with my mumsnet group from 2014. It's really lovely finally meeting people after all the chat on here. Hopefully quite a few of us will end up in the same due date groups on here!
I still haven't worked out this EWCM thing. I had some long stringy stuff on Monday but I don't actually expect to ovulate until tomorrow or Friday. I have had clear cm since then but not as much. Luckily DH has finally agreed to dtd this evening. He hadn't realised why I was pestering him to continue to bed with me. He thought I was concerned over him not getting enough sleep. Can't drop hints with him at all!

babydances · 26/05/2016 06:53

I've gone to work really upset. Potentially irrational but today is my FW and dp didn't want to have sex last night or his morning and he says it's because it's freaked him out that I can get pregnant today. I'm really upset. We've dtd pretty much every bloody day this month and the one day when it's the most fertile he refuses twice, and in all these years he has never said no to sex! I literally left the house crying and had a go at him, oops! I'm just feeling really pissed off. All this effort this month, no drinking, taking vitamins, dtd even when I was too tired and then the one day it actually counts for making a baby and he doesn't want to Angry
