Still no AF but 2 neg test

Not sure if i am just being silly but my cycle is usually 29-30 day. Day 33 today never been this late expect for once when i had just had the coil removed. Woke up really early monday morning cramps etc so thought it was on its way but these went after an hour and nothing since. Dont feel premenstrual at all but did a test on monday and wednesday both negative. I am a bit worried because of past ectopic do these always show up on pregnancy tests. Thought I might ring Gp but she probabley think i am going slowey mad probabley am! Just wish it would hurry up now. If I was pregnant would it definatley show up on day 33. What should I do?

Hi,

I had 2 negative tests - dd2 is now 11 months. It is really common to have false negative tests but not false positives.

It could be because you ovulated late?

How do you feel? I found I felt different with both my pregnancies with dd1 I had very tender boobs - not at all with dd2.

I know nothing about ectopic pregnancies - does have one make it more likely you'll have another? If so may be worth ringinf your GP for advice - but may put you off for a bit. HTH

Thanks hot mama what days of your cycles did you have negative tests. I feel quite well really I usually get a bad headache on the day or day before. dont feel sick or anything but I dont think i did with dd until about 5-6 weeks. You never know fingers crossed anyway. I did ovualation test this month up until day 19 then got fed up as I usually ovulate about day 14-15 ish I think. Didnt have much sex after day 21 i think as I was fed up!

is it the first month you have done ovulation tests? if they were neg until day 19 then you must have ov'd late surely. stress can delay ovulation can't it, so the stress of doing the ov tests and waiting to ovulate probably delayed it which is why af is late. you prob ov'd just after you stopped doing the tests so you prob still BD'd at the right time and could well be pg, just not getting a bfp yet!

Hi Cedar. I had two negatives last week before my positive. I usually have a 28 day cycle, but last month was 26, so when I started getting cramps on day 27, I thought AF was on its way. That afternoon I tested, BFN. By Thursday (day 30), still no AF I tested again. BFN again. I managed to get some tests again on Friday (day31) and tested, BFP. TBH, I found the predictor test I used on the second test useless. I would recommend one of the sensitive ones, like first response or clear blue digital. If they are negative then you probably aren't pregnant. Good luck.

My AF was 9 days late before I got my BFP which is now DS2!! Good luck

First time I tested was with clear blue on day 30, as I said cycle usually 29-30 although I think it might have been 31 last month which was unusual. Normally so regular. 2nd time was on day 32 with tescos one. Still have another tescos one in the cupboard. I have used ovulation tests in the past but not for a while. I think my body is playing tricks.

just to add a diferent perspective, i just had a 35 day cycle for no reason. Sometimes we ovulate later/earlier its not a prescise (sp?) science - sorry i know thats not what u wanted to hear

I think there the ones I used. I started using them on CD10 and I got a line everyday and one day the line got darker, but none were darker than the control line. I gave up by about CD16, thinking that I must of ovulated on the day I got the darker line. I went for a scan on CD19 (as just having some investigations) and he told me I had not even ovulated yet! So thought the sticks were useless but in fact it was my body! Typical...

He did tell me because I was ovulating so late that my period would not come for another 14 days until after I would ovulate, which would make me much later than my normal 28-31 days.

oh dearie me.

OPK's are not of any use at all if you've been previously diagnosed with PCO. These kits measure the amount of LH; if you are one of many women who produce an excess level of this hormone (a common problem with polycystic ovaries for instance) the kit will just read that instead.

I sighed when I read that. I don't know who told you the above but what he actually told you was a load of old rubbish!!.

Ovulation does not always occur on the 14th day; this is even less likely if PCO is an issue!. You should also be aware that it is quite possible to have periods without ovulating at all.

Hi AttilaTheMeerkat - hang my head in shame..

The guy that scanned me the other day said that because my ovulation was late on about CD20, I would get my period late at around CD34. As he said that I should get my period 14 days after ovulation... sorry might not of explained correctly.

I was just trying to say that if you ovulate late, then your period will be late.

I meant the clear blue pregnancy test not ovulation test. I just thought it was a bit strange as I am usually regular. I havent got pcos.

Sorry - I thought you were referring to ovulation sticks...

Good luck and hope you get your BFP... Like someone else said BFN can be false readings, but BFP don't happen...so lets hope the tests are wrong.. xx

when s your day 34? I just realised that with a 28 day cycle i ahould have been due on wednesday but my longest cycle(last one) was 36 days so will wait til then b4 i start to flap!!

Day 36 today but still nothing but did another test yesterday which was negative. I am sure it would show up by now on a test. Just worried as we have been trying for so long some thing else might be wrong, like i am not ovulating or not ovulating ever month and with only one tube it could make it pretty dificult. Not feeling to fed though I am see the consultant again on tuesday for follow up after lap and dye so should be able to ask him lots of questions.

Cedar, I'm not trying to outdo you, but I am usually 28 day reliably, and here I am on day 47, still no sign, and not even the faintest evaporation line on a pg test! As if the 2ww wasn't long enough...

Its a pain isnt it impatience I hope yours get back to normal soon. Now I wish it would just hurry up so we can start trying again.

Hi Cedar, just to let you know I finally got af this morning. Day 44 (not 47 as I said yesterday: lost the ability to multiply by 7!) Don't feel the usual disappointment, instead relieved I can just get on with this next month. Guess in my heart I knew I wasn't pg. Any sign either way for you yet?

Glad you can finally get on with trying again, good luck next month impatience. Still nothing with me sure i am not pg, did another test this morning left it for full ten mins very very faint line phoned clear blue they said it sound like it may be to thin to be positive. They are going to send me a digital test. I have one more test in the cupboard so might try and not wee for the next 4 hours then repeat it. Could pregnancy test be adictive.

hi cedar, i just wanted to say Good luck for when you re-test. I HOPE its bfp for you. I am in a similar boat, cd32 tomorrow, no sign of af. I also have pcos so cycles can be all over, no idea if i ovulated, but had ovarian drilling surgery in Sept, and next gyny appt is April. I am sooooooooo hoping me and dh can get preg by then, all by ourselves. Otherwise its drugs i think. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Good luck x

Thanks pussycatmomma, did a re test on monday and it was positive! Still cant believe it. But trying not to get to excited as I need to have blood test etc so they can rule out an ectopic as I had one before. Had a blood test today and will have another one on friday and get results on monday. I hope you get a positive result to.I think someone got they wires crossed some where but I dont have pcos. Any way good luck my friend has pcos and has 2 boys so I am sure it will happen for you to good luck.
