The painful 2 week wait

Does anyone here find themselves going mad? Researching every single sympton they feel in the 2ww to validate your theory that you might have conceived? Or is it just me?!? Help?!?

I think I am doing it now by posting here - but feel like I need support!

Last year I had a MMC with twins; around 12 weeks. I had to have a D&C and I was devastated for a long time. At Christmas I found out I was pregnant again - but had a mc much sooner (around 6 weeks)

We're now activitively TTC. This month, following ovulation, I have had aches and twinges. A sore throat. A snotty nose. Mucus drip into my throat. More discharge than normal. I am SO tired... My period is due on Saturday. I have started the mad preg testing already - holding up the test to the light hoping to see something.

Can I ask... is they anyone out there who has managed to move on from the agony of the tww? You hear so many stories of ppl giving up and then finding out they are pregnant.. All this worry and research can't be good .. Can it?!? Any tips on how to "forget" or relax about the TWW would be so helpful!! Help!!!

Hello! I have made the most of it and enjoyed the rest. A bit more bleeding and still very anxious - reading into everything (particularly when I feel symptomless...) trying to rest as much as possible. Not sure I can wait until next Monday!!

How are you doing? Any news...? Hope you had a nice break!!! Thanks for checking in xx

I'm doing ok, no news yet. I did take a test on Sunday which was negative but I'm telling myself that it was just too early. Might test tomorrow or thursday. Almost don't want to because I don't want it to be negative!

This next week will go quickly, tomorrow is already halfway through the week!

Hi - my TTW started yesterday. I have been using an app to chart my fertility for six months and it's been super accurate with ovulation and AF arrival. I'm not in a relationship but have been seeing someone off and on for three years. We hit the jackpot on our very first night together, which shocked us both. Sadly I had MC a week after my BFP. It's taken 3 years to want to try again.

As our relationship is so on and off I'm more than happy to got it alone. I'm 43, so this might be my last chance.

Anyway, my app was telling me I was ovulating this weekend so I thought WTH and we didn't use protection. I had signs I was ovulating on Sunday afternoon and we spent a sleepless night together that night. Since then I have had an abundance of EWCM so the timing looks very positive.

I just know this TWW is gonna be long!

Stickyjellybean · 04/04/2016 09:56

How's everyone doing? AF came for me so I suppose it's reassuring in a way as I skipped last months. Trying to stay relaxed and chilled out about it all this month...we'll see how long that lasts. Is it your scan today LooLoo? Fingers crossed for you x

LooLoo777 · 04/04/2016 21:18

Hello - thank you for thinking of me. It was today - they found a heartbeat and they are positive but they want to see me again in 2 weeks. I think it's time I start trying to be more positive - but still very scary!

AF - grrrrrrrrr! Good to know where you are with your cycle though. It's horrible when you don't know what's what. Try to stay calm. I know it sounds like a massively obvious thing to say - but the best advice my GP gave me was not to fixate too much on ovulation dates but be aware of your fertile time and in the run up, during and after try to do the business as much as you can. It's not always easy - but it worked for us. I have everything crossed for you xxx

Hey LooLoo, just wondering how you are doing? X

LooLoo777 · 21/04/2016 10:59

Hello! I thought about you last night and was going to post - spooky!

Well.. We made it to our booking in appointment (first time, we have always had to cancel them sadly, so that was quite a moment..) we saw everything was OK at around 10 weeks so 2 weeks to go until we are out of the major danger zone. So really positive news - still anxious but trying to keep positive.

How are you??? Any news??? Hope you are holding up ok.

Stickyjellybean · 26/04/2016 09:24

That's brilliant news! are you managing to relax and enjoy it a bit now? 12 weeks will soon be here and as you say that's the danger zone.

No news here, trying to just not think about it really - not sure it's working but want to not stress about it. Not used any apps or opk this month as don't want to feel the pressure but not sure if that's making it worse haha!!

Stickyjellybean · 26/04/2016 09:25

I meant you'll soon be out of the danger zone!

Stickyjellybean · 03/05/2016 11:26

How's it going for everyone? LooLoo you just nearly be at 12 weeks!! Hope you're feeling well and are feeling able to relax a bit more.
I took a test last night and it was positive!! A faint squinter but there! And took two more this morning (haha) and they were both positive too!! But still quite faint and they were superdrug ones which I think have a lower threshold. So I'm going to wait a couple of days and test again and see if it's darker and whether if I use a less sensitive test it'll be positive on there too! Trying not to be excited - mainly nervous and worried! I'm bloated and boobs are a bit sore but no other symptoms. Just want this one to be a sticky one!!

LooLoo777 · 06/05/2016 07:40

That's amazing news!! Congrats!! I have EVERYTHING crossed that this little one sticks. Take care of yourself now - lots of rest. So, so pleased for you. I think I must have done about 20 tests!! All different kinds.

I am 12 plus 3 today and I had my scan on Tuesday - all seemed well and ... It's a boy!! As every week goes by I am calming down but still nervous! It all still feels surreal.

I am SO pleased for you - keep me posted. I hope you don't start feeling too rough! X

Stickyjellybean · 11/05/2016 10:02

Woohoo - a boy!! How exciting for you! How are you feeling?

I went to the GP this morning and asked if she could refer me for an early scan - to which she basically said no and that if it's going to happen again then it will and I should just accept it and wait for the 12 week scan to find out. So I'm feeling a bit down about that. We had a private scan last time because I just knew something was wrong and I'd rather not have to do that this time, I felt much better having the scan in the hospital even though it was bad news. i dont have any symptoms really - I wish I'd start to feel sick or something!

purplepingu · 11/05/2016 10:42

I'm a bit late to the party but can I join? I'm nearly midway through my TWW.

It's my first month trying for DC2. My coil fell out a couple of months ago and I started tracking my cycle this month. We DTD twice around ovulation time and my temp spiked the day after so we definitely hit the right time.

Feel tired and seem to be peeing all the time but could just be imagining things. Feel a bit crampy and have more CM than usual. Hate this symptom spotting!

Congrats to those who got their BFP's above, I've been lurking on this thread for a while!

Readytosettle · 17/05/2016 19:59

Hey, just joining for the ride. I'm on my first proper cycle since stopping cerazette so not sure how long my cycle is. If we assume 28 days then I'm 8dpo. Not desperate to be preggers right away but still find the 2ww difficult to ignore....argh, wish I could just forget about it but the reality is that this is waiting to see whether your life is about to be turned upside down again or not and it's difficult to be chilled out about that!!

LooLoo777 · 22/05/2016 19:32

Hello ladies - how is everyone doing? Sorry I haven't replied for ages.

StickyJellyBean - any news? Did you go for a scan? Have you thought about going to the early pregnancy unit? We didn't go via GP. Hope you are holding up OK.

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
Stickyjellybean · 23/05/2016 17:10

I thought I'd replied to this thread ages ago but apparently I didn't! I'm doing ok. I started to have some sickness and stuff and felt positive but also very stressed about it. Symptoms stopped about last weds and haven't really returned so I'm a bit worried about that but also trying not too read too much into it. I rang the EPU and they said they don't do reassurance scans and I'd have to go for a private one if I wanted so we have one booked for next week - should be 8 weeks by then and hopefully will see heartbeat and I might relax. But equally terrified it's going to be bad news.

How're you doing LooLoo? Feeling more relaxed?

And Pingu - any news? Did you test?

LooLoo777 · 23/05/2016 19:11

I have everything crossed for you. Around the same time as you I had a big dip in symptoms and was convinced it was bad news. I found it all came in waves (plus, aside from the complications, I was extremely lucky symptoms wise I think) so try not to worry too much. I know it's such a pain to have to pay for a scan, but if it gives you reassurance it's definitely worth it. Let me know how you get on - I really hope it's all good news for you.

I am OK - slowly realising you never stop worrying really but I think I am a (little) bit calmer. Not feeling anything yet though so it all feels very surreal to be honest - just have to hope all is OK

Good luck and keep me posted

Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd pop back and see how everyone was doing?

LooLoo777 · 26/07/2016 10:28

Hello!!

How are you doing?

It's been a long old road for me so far, but baby seems to be doing OK. 24 weeks now.

How are you?!?

OP posts:
Stickyjellybean · 28/07/2016 10:18

Glad baby is doing well. 24 weeks! That's exciting, really not long left at all! We're doing ok too, I think. About 17 weeks and have midwife appointment next week then 20 week scan in 3 weeks. It seems like forever ago we had the 12 week scan, it's such a long wait in between to wonder whether everything is still going well. Don't look at all pregnant yet though, and no movements yet but think maybe it's just too early and I need to be patient!!

LooLoo777 · 19/09/2017 06:35

How is everyone? X
