Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 12. Welcome!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself your pregnant in the tww

Congrats harriet and stardusty!

kat love how you had stardusty on the grads list even before her CB test - kat KNOWS 👃

Kwick709 · 05/03/2016 11:16

kat you are so funny! Your time will come I am sure of it. I also love how you manipulate calculate our numbers - nearly 50% bfp that is amazeballs!!!

stardusty CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Star I think biting cheeks is stress related though - I do this and have to wear a mouth guard when a I sleep now as it was getting so bad.

Ever I am half Spanish :) In my family we have a lot of latino/Spanish influence - my dad is Spanish, my auntie is from Puerto Rico and my sister in law is from Peru. Ole! For me it was really important to have a latino donor - the one I am using now is of French/Italian/Puerto Rican extraction which I think sounds perfect! Think about ALL the great food going on in the those countries!

Oops I did not realise Starky had a copyright on the Stars... I will have to award something else for BFPs!

Kwick709 · 05/03/2016 11:19

oooh I love the St Davids but perhaps only here for the spring? It was definitely not there before!

Any of you guys (in London) used TaskRabbit? - I am waiting for my handyman to arrive to fix a couple of things... if it works out well I may use for some other bits and bots I need done in my flat. I must continue to sort stuff out... no room for me to move with all my clutter let alone a baby!

Also waiting for clinic to call me back - cannot find dose required of intramuscular injection... quite a relief I have not been able to tackle that yet.

HepKestrel · 05/03/2016 11:31

I think St Davids appeared for St Davids day. So it may well disappear soon

Am loving the 50% success rate ( sod it-i'll round up Wink)

I think I am just terrible for over analysing every niggle, ache and feeling during the 2ww. No testing for me until next weekend. Currently at 9dpo.....

HepKestrel · 05/03/2016 11:32

tiny I also have a terrible DTD frequency during ISW.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/03/2016 11:40

Congratulations star 🎊🎉👑🌹🍰🍼💐

It will happen for us kat I have faith. Although I will admit to feeling a bit meg when I realise that pretty much all the originals are on the grads list. Is it just me and you that have been here since thread 1 now?

Sorry for the afs, much wine, cake, soft cheese and eggs. Nacho is being an attention demanded today, he's tripped me up twice!

In other news, I had my baby/toddler singing group yesterday. It was so weird, I had to sit in the back and do the music as I couldn't cope with being a part of the mêlée at all. I had a hormonal moment and had to swallow down a tear! Couldn't get involved as I felt like a weirdo being there with no little ones, I said to my dm I felt like an odd ball. It's basically me and a few grandma's that help out, and grandma's can just scoop a baby and nobody bats an eyelid. A mum asked me where my child was (nicely) and I was like "oh I don't have any!" I felt like a baby snatcher or a fraud or something bring there!

I had a cider last night to cheer me up!

48% is amazing kat! Don't they say that 60% of people get pregnant within 6 months? So, so far we are doing well.

Dh is loving opks! He's like, this makes sense. This is so much better than your stupid app. This is science.

LOL!

Mileymoocow · 05/03/2016 12:00

kwick your baby is going to be the cutest. I really hope this all goes in your favour!

starky it will be you one day Smile it is tough though, I remember my friends little girls first birthday in December - I was the only non mummy and it really hurt having people ask which one was mine and we had only been ttc for 2 months. I always thought it wouldn't happen to me, and I still can't believe it even now. Keep your hopes up everyone, everything will be fine.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/03/2016 12:03

On a more positive note. One of the babies (about 12 months) had a little snack of grapes in a bowl, he dropped them and they went all over the floor. My dm was next to him so picked them up, popped them back in the bowl and handed him one. Then grinned sheepishly, went a bit pink and said to his mum "whoops, is that ok? They've been in the floor! Well you can tell what kind of mother I was!" Looked at me and went "a bit of dirt will do you no harm!" Grin it really made me giggle! I'm starting to see my mum as a person, not just my mum. It's been really interesting to detach the two personas!

Star - congratulations, you must be thrilled!

AF update: the witch, who was due yesterday, is still not here but she is messing with me. I had TERRIBLE cramps yesterday and particularly late last night. Woke up without any but as soon as I stood up, terrible cramps - paracetamol worthy. They're still here. Boobs still perfectly normal which is neither a symptom of pregnancy (last time my boobs were ridiculously painful) nor my usual AF (I do get sore boobs with AF but to a lesser extent than when I had my BFP).

Took a IC test to help me obsess over it further just to check. It was a BFN of course.

I have been very weepy but not sure if that's PMS or just being heartbroken that this isn't our month again.

So basically I'm in limbo land. Not preggers. Not on my period. I am absolutely convinced AF is on her way, whereas last time I knew I was pregnant before I took the test. Been feeling like AF could arrive any minute for the last 2.5 days now. Pissed off. Drinking coffee. Drank a lot of wine last night. Please give me suggestions for other things I can do which are illegal in pregnancy so I can revel in my lack of fertility today Angry

LisaTheGreek · 05/03/2016 12:15

I'm sorry, iPatches Thanks

How about a big hunk of really ripe brie or camembert slathered over some fresh, warm bread?

HepKestrel · 05/03/2016 12:16

Flowers ipatches limboland is hideous isn't it!
It is also frustrating that most preg symptoms are also AF symptoms.

i prescribe a nice cup of tea and walk in the sunshine. Though to be fair, they are my prescriptions to solve/help most problems....

If the weather holds, OH and I hope to get a nice walk in the penines tomorrow Smile.

can you go to a nice market and indulge in some seafood? location dependent of course. Some really ripe smelly cheese?

in other news, after much procrastination (i am a master) i have booked my pilates class for monday so i can restart going to the gym. I am very good once i start going, but terrible at getting back on the gym-wagon.

Ni4444 · 05/03/2016 12:17

Stark I think I was on the original thread too. So unfair!! Angry

ipatches brie, goats cheese, runny eggs, pate, scallops (any undercooked fish or meat), nice rare steak, tuna, wine, caffeine, salami, parma ham, cocktails, prosecco,... That's the best I can do!!

Kwick I've used handy for cleaning but never task rabbit. Was suggesting them for handyman this morning as OH keeps not putting up curtains in our new bedroom so I keep waking early 😭

iPatches · 05/03/2016 12:28

Lisa, Hep, Ni - brilliant suggestions
Prosecco can go in the fridge because I keep a bottle for emergencies such as this along with the rest of the wine from last night...DH already has some pate in the fridge because he doesn't think about these things and I will ask him to get some camembert and salami on the way home tonight. I've already had a coffee this morning but will have at least 2 more. I plan to have a lovely hot bath later too - the kind I like, so hot it's almost burning but just not quite!

ElleSarcasmo · 05/03/2016 12:37

Yay congratulations Stardusty! That's a lovely line Smile Flowers

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/03/2016 12:44

patches I'd suggest heroin but I hear it's really moreish so probably better not Grin soft boiled egg? With pate on toast. And a whisky chaser?

ni you were, you're an original! Anyone else? I think ever and pug have been with us since the beginning too. I'm just frustrated! Novembers cycke i dont even count as a cycle because we started so late! Buggered up December's cycle, January's lasted about a hundred weeks over dramatic February's was disappointing. And now I'm into March (and still only half way through cycle 3) and it just feels like it's going on FOREVER! It's taken nearly 6 months to get to cycle 3!

Going to attempt to get another dtd in this afternoon to cover my bases and then the wait for af begins. But it won't be my month, I've no chance with dh's balls atm! I'd probably be less annoyed if he was actually taking steroids, cause then I'd know for certain that his nutsack was useless! As it is, they've just been fried in the sauna, squashed on the bike and frozen in the cold weather at work! 😠😂

Peaches8Posies · 05/03/2016 12:46

Was just about to type morning every one! Oh well, afternoon ladies 😂

star congratulations!!

ipatches the bitch is playing mind games, im the exact same as you. Usual af cramps (very bad last night) fully expected her ugly face to be here first thing but nothing. IC negative!! Just indulged in a nice runny egg with come salt and pepper crusty bread to dip. I have some seafood in the freezer which I think I'll take out and make a chilli seafood stir fry tonight. I've gave up drink for lent and I'm trying very hard to ignore the chilled rosè sitting in my fridge 😠

Ladies our time will come, sending loads of positivity xx

ElleSarcasmo · 05/03/2016 12:51

Kwick you are so brave doing it all on your own. I hope this is your lucky cycle 🍀 Portland would make a good middle name maybe?

Welcome Rach Smile

I am starting ISW and have already cocked up...got drunk on prosecco last night and failed to temp today or do OPK yesterday...oops! Will try to dtd lots to make up for it Smile dirty hotel night for us tonight!

Snow can't believe you're off already! Hope the flight is OK and you sleep like a baby all the way! Fx the temps are a tiny snowball!

Sorry about BFN Rae Flowers

Kat I am rooting for you. Hope AF keeps her ugly mug away Flowers and hugs.

Ni more sex for me too! Hopefully. Sorry about AF Flowers

Oh Starky, hugs for you! I must say I think I would have been a bit teary in that situation! Your mum sounds lovely Smile Hope you're making the most of your human OPK and going forth and shagging! I was on thread 2 I think...not quite an original but not far off!

iPatches hope AF stays away! And in the meantime that you eat your own body weight in forbidden bounty! (Not actual Bounty bars, bleurgh)

iPatches · 05/03/2016 12:53

Peaches - resistance is futile. You and I are hitting the wine tonight.

Sat with a cup of steaming hot coffee in front of me. I've missed caffeine even though I haven't cut down that much

ElleSarcasmo · 05/03/2016 12:56

lol at your description of DH balls Starky Grin Grin Grin

Ni4444 · 05/03/2016 13:04

I need your brains ladies. So my last two cycles have been a little shorter (28 and 29 rather than 31,32,33). Problem is I've temped these last two cycles and I ovulate late so I have had 9 and then 10dpo. So, a short luteal phase which doesn't give great chances for implantation, and building a nice thick uterus lining to keep a bean if it were to stick (according to Google). I've asked my acupuncture lady for her advice (haven't been a pin cushion since Jan as she went on maternity leave). But I've read that this stuff could help increase progesterone levels which should lengthen luteal phase: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ERP5MM0/ref=pd_aw_sbs_121_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=41zVQEMCjjL&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL115_SR86%2C115&refRID=1H6BEC76HRQ91HF71GTK

Before I go off and buy yet another thing to take, does anybody know anything about increasing luteal phase naturally?

ElleSarcasmo · 05/03/2016 13:18

I haven't heard of Agnes castus Ni. I think Snow had a similar issue and tried soy isoflavones, though I seem to remember Zazzles also tried and didn't get on with them?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 05/03/2016 13:20

You were elle I'm sorry, my brain is up my arse today! 😀

I've never heard of them ni but I'm reading the reviews and they certainly look good! I'll have to do a bit more research on them but if they increase cycle regularlity I'm certainly interested myself!

OP posts:
ZazzlesTheCat2 · 05/03/2016 13:32

Hi ladies, not read through everything yet but Flowers for bfns.

ni and elle I'm no expert but I think Agnus Cactus regulates hormones (so could be good to try for extending LP as it should balance estrogren / progesterone hormones - there's a short LP thread on the ttc board so take a look at that first, there could be better methods!)

Soy - I tried them last cycle but they were awful for me. It's supposed to help boost egg quality and give a strong ovulation (I think by increasing estrogren and stimulating ovaries). I have since read that if you suffer from policystic ovaries or pcos (which I believe already gives you a slight increase in estrogren anyway) then it's not advisable to take this. I think it caused a further rupture in a large cyst that I already have on my left ovary and was painful as hell. So I've thrown them in the bin and learned a lesson Grin.

CD14 for me today - had my peak line on opk so will dtd later and tomorrow morning hopefully! I'm also popping my moon cup in after dtd to prevent everything coming out in bits and peices Blush
