Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 12. Welcome!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself your pregnant in the tww

Wow, so much has happened in just a day.

Congratulations Harriet! That's super news. Flowers This is a pretty successful week, all in all.

Sounds like epo is a winner, from what some of you have said. I think I'll give it a try, since I've never managed to notice ewcm so far. Likewise preseed (DH is in for a surprise!). These will be my new strategies for our next concerted effort month (May). This month and April I will leave everything to Fate (that reliable, trustworthy friend...).

Best of luck to you with those two lovely eggs, kwick. I hope this month is the month for you.

miw I know how you feel. That's exactly what happened to me this month, and as much as I tried not to, AF being late just got my hopes up way too high Sad

kat that's an impressive rate of success! I am way off in the distance on another bus entirely, sitting all on my own on 2 April Sad

Hope you all have splendid weekends. I am about to crack open the beer (one advantage of failing at baby-making again) and relax after a pretty hectic week. Wine

tinypapertiger · 04/03/2016 17:38

Oh, and thanks moggy for sharing your winning strategy. That was reassuring to read - sounds pretty human and achievable.

I know it sounds really dumb, but I've been starting to think that the biggest obstacle to my getting pregnant so far has just been the fact that we don't have enough sex Confused We've managed to DTD 2/1/3 days during ISW in the three months we've been TTC, and I know it ought to be the most amazing opportunity to just shag non-stop, but it gets a bit wearing pretty quickly, having to DTD on specific days.

But, there are definitely worse things in life! Grin I reckon once I've started with the EPO and preseed, it's game on!

RaeSkywalker · 04/03/2016 17:44

Congratulations Harriet and good luck Kwick!

I'm sure that AF is going to turn up at some point tomorrow but will test in the morning as am supposed to be going out for Wine in the evening.

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 17:46

starky you have a diamond DH :) I think that I will discuss with someone in clinic if I get two good embryos how many to return. My thoughts at this time is 1 and freeze 1. But I of course need to hear the medical advice if I get that lucky :)

Sincerely I am so pleased that you saw your DR and you are being referred for tests - this is progress and it is much better to know what is what.

Rachjade89 · 04/03/2016 17:59

Hi all my name is Rachel, I'm look for some support & tips from people in the same boat as me.
I'm 26yrs
TTC #2
Cycle:1
Day:1
I came of my pill (yasmin) on 1st March 2016 after been on it for 5&half years. I started my withdrawal bleed today... I just can't wait for it to be over & be able to start tracking my cycle. I'm a very impatient person so just want to be pregnant now!

Does any one else feel the same, I know I'm not pregnant but already thinking of names & looking at prams ect.

Looking for people to chat to as me and my partner agreed to keep the fact where trying a secret from everyone to keep it surprise.

Btw- it took me 5months to fall pregnant with my daughter.( hoping to take less this time round)

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 18:09

Welcome rach - this is the place to be - wonderful group of ladies that will be a great support to you, just like they have been to me :)

My advice would be to start to track your LH surge so you can get a view of when you are ovulating. You can get cheapie tests on Amazon - they are called One Step. I would also recommend that you DTD every other day - seeing as you are one of the lucky ones to have a "love length" on tap (I am foot loose and fancy free so have to rely on intervention and magic potion). Stress plays a factor in all this too - so try and get some relaxation techniques down pat too.

SuchaJem · 04/03/2016 18:11

Hi welcome rach :) I've thought about names for years to be honest! I don't let myself look at baby stuff though, that way would lie madness for me I suspect. How old is your little girl?

Day 10, no EWCM and another negative OPK. Really hoping things pick up soon as DH is away Monday night and Tuesday night. I'll be soooooooooooo stressed if a positive OPK comes up on those days.

Feefeefs · 04/03/2016 18:24

Welcome rach! Smile

I have all my names picked out Blush

Rachjade89 · 04/03/2016 18:39

My little girl is 5 and half :) so though it was about time I gave her a sibling.

Pugmummy87 · 04/03/2016 18:44

Temp rises after ovulation due to the release of progesterone from the corpus luteum which is also heat inducing. It will stay elevated during the tww and then dip if you haven't conceived because the corpus luteum will start to break down and thus af rears her ugly head.
Basal body temp can be affected by taking it at different times, illness etc. So it's really only worthwhile doing if you wake up the same time every day. And taking it via the foof is more reliable.

I have a peanut bladder normally but I have been needing to pee so often today. Hope it's not a UTI. Only 3dpo so I know it's not a symptom.

Decorating my friends baby shower cake tonight. Could really do with a large glass of wine after my epic 9 days in a row working week, but best not as I might fuck it up lol.

Congrats Harriet!

So glad to hear you got 2 plump eggs Kwick, fx the magic potion does it's job and you have 2 lovely embryos to put back!

Welcome rach

StarkyTheDirewolf · 04/03/2016 19:01

With names, we're pretty set on a boys first name so far and I have a couple of contenders for middle names. We have a few girls names but I'm less sure on this, whereas Dh thinks the one he picked is done and dusted ready! We've been collecting some bits and pieces, we've got a moses basket and a buggy. But don't want to get too much just in case it doesn't happen!

kwick love length always makes me chuckle! Reminds me of Peter kay phoenix nights and the bit with the trampoline! Sammy the snake!

Would definitely recommend doing opk's rach they're brilliant! And means you can poas as much as you like!

Thanks for your replies starky & kwick

starky I track my ovulation & periods on my calendar so I have a record. I use the clear blue dual hormone.

kwick I'm pleased & lucky he's spotted these things & I'm being sent for tests. I think it just catches you off guard!! If you don't mind me asking, what was your 'fertility story'?

Hello and welcome newbies ☺(posted too quickly)

KatOnATinRo0f · 04/03/2016 19:30

Thanks pug for the detailed info! Maybe I shall get a BBT... In a few months (as I'm supposed to be taking it chilled for a bit now) and whilst I sleep with an open mouth I do not as far as I know sleep with an open foo so I should be okay in that respect. Seriously is that how everyone does it????

HepKestrel · 04/03/2016 19:31

Welcome Rach

I caught myself thinking of names today and tried to stop... Truth is I have 2 girls names I like... No boys names...

KatOnATinRo0f · 04/03/2016 19:32

Ohhhhh I wanna know what everyone's names are!!!

Peaches8Posies · 04/03/2016 19:33

sincerely I know it seems a bit daunting but a work colleague of mine was ttc for a few years before she managed to pluck up courage and get her OH on board with testing. Realising she had a problem and needed a little help eventually made her angry with herself she didn't ask sooner. Once they found out why she wasnt having regular periods she was sorted out pretty quickly and went on to have 2 lovely kids. Fingers crossed you get answers quickly. X

SincerelyRosie · 04/03/2016 19:36

Thanks peaches it's just a bit daunting at first. Thinking positive!!

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 19:45

sincerely my fertility story is as follows: I suddenly realised in March/April last year that the knight in shining armour I had been holding out for was not going to make an appearance and I was filled with sadness to think that I would not have a baby.

So I started to see what my options were, I went to a couple of open days at fertility clinics and read a lot online. I decided to go to the clinic my cousin had IVF twins with - they have very good success rates.

I also decided that I would do IUI (so turkey baster approach) with donor sperm. I did 4 natural cycles - so no stimulation drugs but ovulation trigger injection and post insemination progesterone. Then I did cycle 5 with Menopur injections to stimulate follicle growth. After 5 failed IUIs it was time to try something new - and this is my first medicated IVF cycle - with a month of downregging and 2 weeks of stimulation. I am 41, have PCOS and only one ovary but I am hopeful that I will catch my dream. I am sure we will all catch our dreams. Grin

Peaches8Posies · 04/03/2016 19:52

Definitely sincerely!! One step closer to your own bfp!! ☺

hep snap haha girls I have a few ideas already, not only ever boy...

Peaches8Posies · 04/03/2016 19:54

Not one boy (that's me without a glass of wine!)

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 19:54

Me too - loads of girl names in contention but for boy harder would it be completely crazy to call a boy Portland after street of conception?

Snowdog37 · 04/03/2016 20:04

Hi all 🍷☕️🍰💐
I'm 7 dpo and my chart is crazy, the temps are so flat compared to my other cycles! Trying not to get my hopes up!
I've got a stinking headache so I haven't read all the pages I've missed yet. Will try to catch up though. Heading over to the states on the night flight tomorrow night yay!!!!

Peaches8Posies · 04/03/2016 20:06

No kwick Sounds rather cool ☺

Also would like to pick a name no one else has. When I was at school there was always 3/4 people with the same names so I've always leaned towards picking out something different. But the girls names I've always liked are now more common.

I remember a conversation in work were one of the pregnant girls was running through her names list and one of the other women said oh that's my cats name 😂 not the reaction she was hoping for haha
