Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 11. Welcome one and all!
We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

kwick if you Google needle exchange near your postcode then you may come across a pharmacy/clinics which supplies needles to drug addicts/steroid users. Ring around and you should be able to pick some up tomorrow morning. (Advice comes from memory with steroid using ex)

Just checking in. Haven't had a chance to read up on everything but hope you are all well.

I had 3 days of positive OPK last weekend so am anywhere up to 6dpo at the moment. Have zero symptoms - but didn't have any symptoms until 7 dpo last time (and that was when I was sure of when I o'd because I only had ONE positive OPK). Trying not to think about it so having a few drinks tonight with DH.

I definitely don't feel "lucky" this cycle. I felt lucky last cycle. Trying to work with DH to organise lots of things to look forward to (trips to see family, friends, just some "us" time) which is definitely helpful. I have felt more positive this week, been able to concentrate at work and able to eat lunch etc. which is way better than the previous two weeks where frankly I was a wreck.

So things are looking up, even if this isn't "our cycle".
(I hope it is, though Sad)

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 20:15

Ooh Zazzles that sounds promising! I only took it a week this cycle but hopefully the full whack next cycle will help!

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 20:19

Thanks starky will try that!

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 26/02/2016 20:53

ni I'm taking about 2000mg I think? 2 tabs, every day from CD1 - last day of ovulation. I've read not to take it after ovulation.
Also bought pre-seed but I may not need after after all!

kwick that's really annoying, hope you get needles sorted

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 21:22

Yeah I think I took 2000 up to my first positive opk, but I've read you can take up to 3000 so I might do that next month

Pugmummy87 · 26/02/2016 21:59

Glad I gave you a laugh Choc. Wasn't it Kat who mentioned about getting the blusher out? May have to do that myself!

Day 2 of 9 days in a row at work down. Only 7 more to go 😩

KatOnATinRo0f · 26/02/2016 22:29

yup Blush ready for ISW....

kwick i can't even begin to imagine what you are going through. You really must feel like a pincushion, and to not have everything provided that you need is really frustrating. Is there an NHS service over the weekend where you can go to get new needles? I'm thinking calling 111 may offer some advice about local clinics that are open... but I dont think they are all that useful sometimes.

SuchaJem · 26/02/2016 22:33

Thanks ni I am ready to load up!

moggy I bought the 50 sensitive OPK strip tests - think there's only one option of these? They have 500+ reviews

kat my DH is the pilot so I can fly standby with him but I know this is awful I don't bloody want to go I want him here shagging. I hope you and your oh are in the right place to DTD and catch a wee egg this cycle.

SuchaJem · 26/02/2016 22:35

patch fingers crossed for you getting back on the grad list xx

vixarooni · 26/02/2016 22:41

Just saying hi. I love reading all the chat, I found in my first cycle I got way too into the whole thing in a unhealthy way! but I'm temping, took epo and managed to DTD on my peak day (after us both getting food poisoning) so fingers crossed something might happen.

Are people trying to avoid Dec/Jan babies? I don't wanna stop trying but I also don't want a baby then! Tough as.

KatOnATinRo0f · 26/02/2016 22:50

jem ... thats so cool... i think if i didnt have to do anything id go along and wander round miami for a bit, go for a nice dinner... have a glass of wine.. put my Blush on...

my egg has long gone... ovulated some time last weekend, in the 2ww now.

what's wrong with december/january babies?

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 22:52

I just want a baby! Anytime if year is fine!

Thanks kat I will try 111 in the morning. i hope I have nit just guven mysekf food poisoning... Takeaway not feeling so great now....

vixarooni · 26/02/2016 22:58

Having a birthday in Dec/Jan I would personally dislike! That's about it, and having a newborn in the dephs of winter, I'm a proper sun worshiper!

IrregularCommentary · 26/02/2016 23:03

I'm curious about the Dec/Jan avoidance as well. I'm a January baby, and it's never occurred to me that my birthday's at a 'bad' time. Why do people want to avoid it?

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 23:12

I have lots of family Bdays in January so it's already a tragic time financially! Plus ppl say their bday gets overlooked. So in an ideal world I wouldn't want a Dec /Jan baby. But no way am I willing to put ttc on hold...not even for a month! Coming up to 34! Tick tock!!

KatOnATinRo0f · 26/02/2016 23:19

no, I'm not putting TTC on hold. I don't really care when its born... also, wondering if NOT being heavily pregnant, or having a newborn during summer might mean i can enjoy it a bit (as it will hopefully be the last one!!)

iPatches · 27/02/2016 00:38

We won't postpone TTC because the baby might have a Dec/Jan birthday. They may or may not like it - that's up to them - but if all the parenting decisions I think we will have to make, this one is down at the bottom of the list in trends it importance. For others, it may be crucial - but it's not for us.

Fingers crossed for a November baby anyway, but I think I may be hoping for too much. [Sad]

iPatches · 27/02/2016 00:40

Argh. Stupid predictive text! "In terms of importance"..!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 27/02/2016 01:01

I'm summer born, literally 6 months between Christmas and my birthday. Dsis is beginning of January. She likes it because sheshe always had a Christmas list and then a January sales list for her birthday presents!

I'm not planning on knowing when/if I ovulate so will have no control but given that dh is hardcore into stripping weight and training (steam rooms and cardio) as well as weights, his sperm are probably perishing at a rate of knots! So it's unlikely to happen anyway! I'm thinking May might be a good month to be conceived, or June.

Lyssie · 27/02/2016 04:32

I feel as if the baby and myself will both just be happy it was born, regardless of silly times of the year.
That being said, I wouldn't mind a winter baby, as it is just an easier time to lie about and rest up before/after birth, because it gets so cold and snowy here. Light a fire, start a pot of tea...crank out a baby... Haha

Evergreen15 · 27/02/2016 06:23

Jem a pilot! BlushSmileSmileSmileSmile lucky you. I think of top gun ... 😍

Rationally, a baby in december is not my ideal plan, but I dont care gimme baby!!!! Grin
Irregular I think it is mostly budgeting and splitting celebrations , so not too close to Christmas. Also the harsh winter with a wee baby?
Ni I agree, coming to 35 Grin

Kat brings a brilliant point!!! If baby in december when all they do when born is eat and sleep is fine. Then come summer they are a wee older and you can enjoy. Well at least in my home country heavily pregnant in summer is torture
Again dont care gimme baby Grin

Starky I am a spring baby Grin OH thinks we will conceive in Spring like most wildlife (he is lovely Smile)

So AF due today. My boobs are sore as I dont think they have been sore before (hope) but my temp dropped this morning.
My mum told me last night that a friend from school lost his daughter Sad a two year-old to pneumonia. So I am NOT going to be negative today. Imagine that Sad...

Hugs to you all ThanksThanksThanksThanks

Pugmummy87 · 27/02/2016 07:02

My birthday is the 2nd Jan and it is a bit crap as everyone forgets due to the aftermath of Christmas and new year. No one ever wants to go out and do anything as everyone is bankrupt after Christmas. For my 30th next year, I'm hoping to have a new years eve birthday party, although that partly depends on if and how pregnant I am/when I gave birth if I conceived in the next couple of months, so I'm not planning it until about august/September!

Despite hating my birthday though, it's not stopping me ttc. I would make sure my child had a good bday every year.

Evergreen15 · 27/02/2016 07:20

Been busy ladies GrinGrinGrin

stardusty5 · 27/02/2016 07:27

We're not stopping either. Dh's birthday is two days before new years eve and he hates it though. Everyone wants to save themselves for the big night, and are sick of eating from christmas too so a nice meal out (in restaurants still serving christmas menus) don't tickle his fancy!

I just try to make it as undecemberish as possible for him. Paid for him and a group of mates to go and see star wars last time, then went for tapas.

5dpo now. Feel fine and dandy-o. 8 days til test day says Ovia.

Hope we have some BFPs over the weekend!
