Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 11. Welcome one and all!
We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

I'm being terrible but I think if I wanted the tests from the GP sooner I would just "exaggerate" the length of time we were trying? Probably a terrible thing to say but it's the truth! I actually told one about 6months ago that we would be trying soon too so think I would get away with it!

Feefeefs · 26/02/2016 14:37

I think I just answered a question no one asked!!! Ha ha

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 15:04

Feefs that's totally understandable...I bet loads of people do it. If it's not worked after 6months (or by bday 34 in June) I'll request blood tests

StarkyTheDirewolf · 26/02/2016 15:08

ni and feef I've given myself till June too, ill probably say we've been ttc for a year even though it'looks have been 7 months by then. I had a feeling that ttc wouldn't go as I'd imagined it cycle 1 which is why I started tracking this time last year with my ovulation and periods so I could go in loaded with data. Although it's only the last few months I've been using opk's so before that it was mainly done on assumption!

Just bought 50 sensitive OPK strips off Amazon. Let the testing commence this month!

HOWEVER, have just realised DH will be in Miami on days 14 and 15 of my cycle this month :( these are probably my peak ov days?!

Chocaholic88 · 26/02/2016 17:10

For the record the cheapie OPKS must work... from my dates I had just ovulate the day I got mine and got a positive from the first one I did for the next 48 hrs... I don't rate the cheapie pregnancy tests... however the OPKs were spot on! :)

SuchaJem · 26/02/2016 17:14

Ooh good, thanks choc :)

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 17:17

such not everyone O's on 14/15... Plus if you load up on swimmers 12/13 that should cover you!

bluebird3 · 26/02/2016 17:35

Hi cailler I started last April so almost the same time as you.

I've been to the GP but they don't want to test for another few months as its apparently normal for it to take so long. It sucks but no choice but to be patient.

I also temp and do opks. I find they reduce my stress by reassuring me things are working. Does make me wonder about DH'a swimmers... Then I feel guilty for suspecting him secretly!

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 17:51

Blue of course DH's swimmers should be suspected just as much as your body! It makes logical sense! I was worried about the effect of my OH cycling a lot every day on his swimmers so sent him for checks. NHS had 2 month waiting list for appointment so he decided to go private rather than risk having to give up his cycling while waiting. About 75-100quid for an appointment without any delay. Found everything to be fine which reassured us both. He actually has his NHS apt coming up next week now so he reckons he'll go for that too just to get another opinion! Would your DH be open to discussing that? Guys don't have to wait until 1 year ttc like we do (and it's easier for them to lie about how long they've been trying as there are no pill prescriptions on their records!!)

Moggysinger · 26/02/2016 17:54

Can someone share which ones they are buying from Amazon? If not upduffed this month I am considering trying them next month ... Along with a bbt, epo, a zillion brazil nuts, and whatever else I can get my hand on that might possibly help!

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 18:05

Congratulations bellini -great news!

miley you made me laugh so much with your dropping to the floor and trying to find emergency clothing!

I am still getting caught up...

Evergreen15 · 26/02/2016 18:14

I suspect OH's swimmers too Hmm

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 18:39

NFTHPC (news from the human pin cushion): I had my day 9 scan today - 3 follies, 1 @ 9mm. This is less than when I did medicated iui and I am on loads more drugs this time Envy

I know it only takes one... Just wish my body would behave, especially as now taking co-q10 and growth hormone!!!!!!

I have consoled myself in retail therapy and now will get takeaway!!!

Mileymoocow · 26/02/2016 18:46

kwick a lot of that doesn't make sense to me. What's a follie?? Yes definitely have a takeaway! And treat yourself lovely ❤

I'm sitting chuckling away at our new neighbours. The lad is about 15 and is sitting in his room making up little raps 😂 it's brilliantly entertaining. Here's hoping they shut the f up before 2am this time though. I always have the shittiest neighbours Angry

Ni4444 · 26/02/2016 18:47

When will they harvest them Kwick? ie is there time for more to grow?!

bluebird3 · 26/02/2016 18:52

Ni my DH is somewhat open to the idea of a SA. He is an NHS Dr so he is a man of science and statistics. Keeps telling me it's still within the normal range (we're on the 12th cycle). He doesn't want to do any testing until we've been trying closer to a year and a half and I don't think he'll be keen on paying private, but that's a good option if we need it.

Anyways... Anyone else have someone at work who is knocked up? I have a couple of colleagues who are and all the office talks about is how the babies are coming along. I'm getting a daily report on what size fruit the unborn is. Trying hard to be happy for them, but so not easy!!!

KatOnATinRo0f · 26/02/2016 18:54

Hi everyone
Congrats bel Thanks
Welcome cailler and yippee for crocheting! It was possibly me and a couple of others who suggested it. What is the blanket you are making like?
Jem... Looks like you'd better book some flights to Miami then!

OPKs do work but made me super stressed, so that I ended up having an argument with DH on my peak fertile day this month so we didn't dtd... So in my 2ww for AF and not even symptom spotting as no chance of upduffed.... Cycle 8 May be the one, who knows! Not doing them next month.

It's reassuring there are some other guys around now who have been trying for a bit longer too. It's lovely people popping in and then out a month later with a pink line and a sticky bean, but I can't really relate to that any more. Fx for a good weekend for all.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 26/02/2016 19:00

blue I've got 5 at my dsis farm and my just moved out ndn. Plus at least 3 others I know. I'm keeping myself busy by making a load of blankets and cardis I intend to try and flog at some point in the next couple of months.

Got all my fingers crossed for you kwick retail therapy is definitely a positive!

I think it's more likely to be me than Dh, haven't actually broached the subject of his swimmers not being up to parr, but I know he's concerned slightly as he told me his testosterone level apparently drops 1% a year from the age of 30. Given the size of him, muscles popping etc, I think his testosterone level is probably fine!

Woohoo congrats bellini ThanksThanksThanks

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 26/02/2016 19:22

Congratulations bellini Flowers lovely news

stardusty5 · 26/02/2016 19:24

Sorry to hear you feel like that kat. I feel the same as you about fertile days this month, i was furious when we couldnt dtd on the second positive day, and we only managed three times in the whole window. Hoping that my cynicism will see me thru tww without too much angst.

I do feel more in touch with my body since opking though, so i will continue with that. Makes me feel proactive and like i can see my body working

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 26/02/2016 19:24

elle I've been taking epo this month and I've definitely noticed a lot more cm and I'm only CD7!

Gearing up for ISW 😴

Moggysinger · 26/02/2016 19:56

Congrats bel !!! You must be so happy, hope it all goes well for you.

bluebird yes one of my work colleagues dropped a baby bomb a few weeks ago. It's all that's talked about in the office these days! And to be fair, all I talk about with her too. It's kind of hard not to discuss as it's such a big thing for her, and I know I need to be polite and ask all the right questions. But it does get tiring doesn't it? I kind of feel like my smile is wearing thin, the kind of smile that makes your face hurt! Of course I am happy for her, but its hard to be happy for her all of the time!

Kwick709 · 26/02/2016 19:56

Follies are follicles (what egg is in) - the more the better for egg collection - which will be in about 7 days or so.

I have a major problem - any advice gratefully recieved:

I am really pissed off... With myself and Healthcare at Home. I was just checking my syringe and needle supply and realise they have only give me enough for one more day of injections.... I cannot even make it through the weekend....what am I supposed to do? Amazon prime will not get here until Monday... Can I just go to Boots and buy more?

I am so angry as I should have noticed this before but I assumed they give you the right amount for treatment plan! I guess I will need to SOS the clinic... And I got told finally that I did not need to go in to tomorrow!!
