Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 9 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Miley starky is never testing. She is going to get the biggest starky Star award when she suddenly feels the baby kicking it's way out.

Feefeefs · 06/02/2016 15:09

I know this sounds silly but what do you mean by good quality sex everblush]?

Congratulations cosmo! Lovely BFP!

IrregularCommentary · 06/02/2016 15:13

Feefs, I think it's referring to the woman having an orgasm. Theory is that the contractions of an orgasm help to suck the jizz up and give it all a bit of a push on its way to where it needs to be.

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/02/2016 15:18

Well that's me out forever then.

Feefeefs · 06/02/2016 15:29

Oh right okay! Makes sense irregualr. Seems like additional pressure!

IrregularCommentary · 06/02/2016 15:38

Hey, if we can spend all month temping and pissing on sticks, they can bloody well concentrate on giving us the 'happy ending'!

ElleSarcasmo · 06/02/2016 16:06

Good thanks Choco Smile

Hope you're feeling better Harriet Flowers

Totally agree that we deserve a 'happy ending' Irregular! Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 06/02/2016 16:06

miley Was wondering about testing at 15 dpo because that would be next Sunday, and valentine's day, but af not due till the 21st, which would be 22 dpo. So its a bit of a conundrum. And i wouldnt get a star! Hmm. Still made from blancmange! Can't tell whether my nips are sore, or if they're just cold. I think I'm probably imagining things to be honest!

Aww harriet sorry you've been poorly, hope you're feeling better soon! And as you say, o the positive side, at least it coincided with af!

feef and irreg I've heard that too, I'm dubious about it!

Congratulations cosmo! What lovely news to come back to. I had a feeling it might be a bfp for you.

Feefeefs · 06/02/2016 16:42

Just did some kino Mac Gregor yoga 40 minutes worth. Along with using the calm app this week.

The yoga today really helped my head pain thanks for he recommendation fxskip going to try 30mins every day. Thanks everyone for their advice earlier this week.

Moggysinger · 06/02/2016 16:49

Congrats co5mo !!! How exciting!

Got fingers and toes crossed for you kat

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 06/02/2016 16:52

Congrats cosmo!!!! Flowers that's one great bfp there Grin

Jamjar12 · 06/02/2016 17:25

Hope you feel better soon Harriet!
*
Elle*, it was funny both times and not too much of a faff. You can do it like 30 minutes beforehand but decided not to as it would put DH off foreplay! Last night I just loaded it up while he was brushing his teeth and then popped it in literally right before he went in lol.

I've read a bunch of stories of people getting BFPs online and the majority seemed to use it. It says on the box that if you don't get a BFP within 6 months of using it, you should go to a gp so assume it's meant to be good!

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 06/02/2016 17:32

I'm CD13 today, just had an almost positive opk, which is bang on with ovulation timing on CD14. I thought I'd missed it this month and the soy threw it off. Phew! Noticed I have hardly any ewcm though, I never really have and I haven't taken epo this cycle (purchased ready though). If I don't get up duffed then I'm going to lay off the soy and take epo.
Have also been too lazy to temp this monthBlush. Felt I was getting too obsessed so I've had to chill out more this time around.
irregular I just about tolerate dtd let alone enjoy it that much to get a big O, maybe my ovaries can tell I'm faking it and withhold the best eggs on purpose HmmBlush

Snowdog37 · 06/02/2016 17:52

I don't always have a happy ending either zazz. Blush I concentrate on his happy endings during fw then he can return the favor after! Tmi but I find I really only have a happy ending if he's downstairs Blush which isn't conducive to swimmer survival so we have an IOU honor system going lol.

Snowdog37 · 06/02/2016 18:02

Many congrats co5mo !!!!! Just trying to catch up with all the news!!!!

starky I really hope this is your month! Fizzy nethers and blancmangey-ness sounds promising!

FF messed me around a little and now finally says I'm 4dpo. I feel hot and have lots of wet cm. Nothing else going on. So at least I have a good rising progesterone level according to my chart!

Kwick709 · 06/02/2016 18:10

I am very behind - only just read page 25...

Starky you were very eloquent and I wish I had read all of that before starting off on my IUI now IVF journey.

Snowdog can you be my doula pleeeeeeease? Someone mentioned it is very costly - what is a ball park figure? I have not really thought about giving birth. I had a long chat with my cousin today who had twins through IVF and she really advised me to focus on the here and now - and to use mechanisms like colouring books, doing the washing up to distract my mind... I am SO stressed at the mo!

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/02/2016 18:14

Snow I was just thinking about you earlier! Wondered whet you were as hadn't seen any posts from you for a while x

Kwick709 · 06/02/2016 18:16

what is a fashioneds?!

KatOnATinRo0f · 06/02/2016 18:19

I still don't really get the doula thing. I can't imagine paying someone a lot of ££ to sort of pretend to be my friend/mum/sister and help me through these things. I don't think I've got a friend who would be willing to be so helpful and i don't have a sister. My mum will be sort of half helpful I imagine ... So I just sort of guess that I'd just get on with it by myself.

Snowdog37 · 06/02/2016 18:23

kwick I'd love to be your doula (and a y others here in our lovely ttc gang 😄❤️ But it looks like I'm moving to the USA in the next few months! We are sorting my paperwork and should be moving by by the summer. Dh's lawyer said 3-6 months. Yay! So hopefully I'll be pregnant and moving!

All is good here, just trying to keep busy so I don't get crazy symptom spotting. I really love reading all your news and I'm sorry I'm crappy at responding to everyone's wonderful or woeful news. It's amazing that we are running at over 35% success rate now!!! We will all be upduffed by the summer I'm sure.

Snowdog37 · 06/02/2016 18:31

As for my charges... I forgot to add that. I charge whatever the family can afford generally. I work part time plus I'm going back to uni. The doula thing is a really lovely thing I do for fun and usually by word of mouth as its not my full time job and by its nature I can't commit to too many women at once so I usually do 4-5 a year. Some have paid me per hour, some I do a package deal for birth and post natal. I'm a bit like a Dutch kraamzorg except I don't do any medical type things just purely baby care, maternal care, family care type things. I love it as new parents really appreciate being taken care of and not everyone has family/friends who would want to do this. Plus as an employee I don't have the emotional ties so there's no resentment or stress asking me to do stuff that family might balk at. I'll happily bathe the baby, clean the bathroom or kitchen, cook a family meal, go shopping etc once baby is here. Anything that helps that first week or two easier. It's part time generally, maybe every afternoon for a week or two, or 3 mornings a week for 2 weeks. Whatever fits into my schedule and their needs. It's a fab thing to do though, and I'm sure I'll continue in the states and at uni there if I can get accepted there.

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 06/02/2016 18:31

snow I don't even have an iou going, I now feel very sorry for my dh 😂

Ovia has messed me around a few times this week too - but I still think I'm dtd at the right times.

I'm a really anxious person & suffer from depression now and again -the thought of childbirth and the fuss of having people rush around me already breaks me into a sweat. I think the only way to keep my sanity would be an ELCS. I also don't like surprises and like that element of control.
Although if I ever needed a doula I bet you'd be awesome snow.

Kwick709 · 06/02/2016 18:33

sorry still catching up (on page 30)

Co5mo congratulations!!! Excellent news!!!! Star

Snowdog37 · 06/02/2016 18:37

The birth doula aspect is different in that I'm on call and I'll go into hospital or to a home birth once the mum wants me there. Sometimes it's from the very early stages of labour and I make snacks and run a bath and generally spoil the mum so she can relax and get into a good mindspace for birth. Once things kick off I let the medical professionals get on with their stuff and I focus on helping mum and dad with relaxation or pain relief techniques. I've worked with single mums too who really like having someone there just for them. It's all about empowering women to do what their bodies are made to do really. I'm not very crunchy but I'm a strong believer in this and I really want to be a midwife so I can incorporate the holistic and medical aspects together.
