Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 9 , Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

I'd say that was a positive pug

lillian my Dh has also become Ovia #2 "babe, I think you're pregnant, your hair is really thick and shiny, you look all healthy and glowing"....After I'd finished laughing I had to burst his bubble and tell him that at 3 dpo, the hormones probably wouldn't have made my hair thick and shiny just yet, that's probably because I washed it.

Aargh! I've started back at work and been swamped, and you've gone posting mad. Just saying hi this evening, tomorrow I'm going to read and catch up!

Hi Grin

LillianFullStop · 02/02/2016 22:10

pug it's game time!

Hi ImpY!

SuchaJem · 02/02/2016 22:16

feef if you like the Adam Buxton podcasts you will loooove the Adam and Joe show. It's soooooo silly :)

Feefeefs · 02/02/2016 22:26

sucha downloaded. Along with the calm app!

FXSkip · 02/02/2016 22:26

Sooo much to catch up on but the chilling out at/after work thing caught my eye. A few years ago I was finding work really stressful - my hair was falling out, i was overweight and depressed. so I took up yoga seriously, 2.5hr daily practice, meditation and breathing (gradually over time!) I also took up life Drawing and both have literally changed my life. If you don't want to go to a class there are lots online (Grokker is good, also Kino Macgregor on YouTube, or codyapp you pay for bundles - I love Talia Sutra and fitqueenirene) they all do short videos you can follow along to -no equipment required.

FXSkip · 02/02/2016 22:28

I realise I sounded like a cheesy ad for an American no-fuss no-effort money-back-guarantee exercise video. Apologies. But seriously yoga can be amazing.

Moggysinger · 02/02/2016 22:30

Another stressed overworked nhs worker here! Hurry up baby so I can go on mat leave!!

I downloaded the calm app after someone suggested it in one of the earlier threads, I love listening to the 'rain on leaves' to go to sleep, it is ridiculously relaxing

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/02/2016 22:50

lilkian I did, and promised him dtd after we'd watched it. Had to turn it off 20 mins in as it was "scaring his balls" apparently! Well, the last thing I need Is a coy nutsack so ill give it another go tomorrow properly!

I had to give my foof a rest today! I've trapped a nerve in my arse cheek, Dh kindly offered to "work it out" for me but I politely declined today! I swear he's got the libido of a 21 yr old! He's nearly 38 and would cheerfully go hell for leather at it twice a day! I shouldn't complain, I'm lucky in that respect I suppose! But my twinkle has been left spluttering and gasping for air after this weekend!

Good look to all those poas tomorrow!!

And for all like me waiting for the (late) AF to deign us with her presence, may your bedsheets be ruinedGrin

Loving this thread. Can't believe there are even ASMR kindred spirits on here. I thought i was the only wierdo who liked to listen to tapping noises. Try whispersredasmr- she is fantastic!

stardusty5 · 02/02/2016 22:58

Good luck ffs. Confused

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/02/2016 23:03

I actually can't sleep without a podcast.
Before podcasts existed I used to have a little radio with an aerial and balance it on my bedpost and listen to radio 4 (mainly for the shipping forecast. Also occasionally "late night love" on bbc local.

Now- all time favourite is frank skinner on absolute radio. Also in our time with Melvyn Bragg, money box, science in action, other r4 ones, this american life, Serial, and most of the other u guys mentioned. (I sometimes go to bed just to listen to something)

Sounds like u had a pretty tough time with your tooth feef, when are you going back to the surgeon? Take ibuprofen and paracetamol (studies have shown more effective than tramadol or naproxen or other heavy duty painkillers for oral pain) if the tmj pain started after the extraction im inclined to think it could be something to do with that. If the night guard makes it worse stop wearing it and go back to dentist. Is it hard or soft? There is little evidence to support efficacy of soft night guards with TMJ disorder but they remain the most commonly prescribed. If it's hard then it's a different thing. Probably. I can't see it so can only give general advice!!

Feefeefs · 02/02/2016 23:04

Thanks FX have saved those names. Will have a go tomorrow after work need to get on this and not let it take me over.

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/02/2016 23:09

Omg... And I was looking for a podcast about bullet journaling and I found one episode in a podcast called "pen addict". I keep falling asleep obv so I can't actually remember what it says. I think the whole podcast is about stationary though... I'm thinking it will be a good one for when I really can't get to sleep

Feef loving the bullet journal reference from DH. I'm going to think of a thrusting man now when I go to do my to do for tomorrow!

Stark love how u call it your twinkle. I'm not sure I could dtd that much. Far too much effort

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/02/2016 23:11

Fx in definitely going to look at that tomorrow. I try to go to yoga twice a week but there's insane roadworks between my home and class now so it takes me at least an hour in rush hour to get there, then 1.5he class, then 45 min back... Just effort levels I don't have in the evening right now. I am rubbish at self practice though so maybe some guidance would be good

Ni4444 · 02/02/2016 23:11

Ps Starks I'm leaning more towards don't test, but it's not about me, it's about you! If you test on the day of your dinner and you get a bfn (either cos you're not upduffed, or because it's just too early) will it dampen your dinner? If so do you just limit to 2 glasses of bubbles with dinner to play it safe and wait to test?
No easy answer I know! Crossing my fingers for you though!

Feefeefs · 02/02/2016 23:14

Hi kat I've been taking full dose ibuprofen and co-codamol. Trying to stop/reduce both, I'm worried about taking ibuprofen so regularly whilst TTC. Obviously would be better to be taking nothing but as I understand it co-codamol is considered safer. It's definitely a soft night guard because she said we could try a hard one if it didn't work but to try it for at least 3 weeks first.

That's helpful tho as I can hold out some hope that a hard splint might work if this soft one doesn't! Still waiting on the oral surgery place contacting me and do be honest a little apprehensive if further procedure required.

Thanks for your advice and everyone for your helpful suggestions today I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about things and that I have some ideas now to help me get back in control. Sorry if I took over the thread a bit this evening and I really am grateful for your advice all.

Planeteer · 02/02/2016 23:15

Ooh, thanks for the rec stardusty. My current asmr faves are adreambeam and whisperaudios. Smile

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/02/2016 23:27

It's quite major having a surgical so can make tmj problems. Also stress is a big factor :( Sometimes soft guards help but if still pain in a few weeks it won't (occasionally can make things worse as some people clench more on it as its squidgy) if You have a hard one it should be one called a Michigan splint, which is a stabilisation splint properly adjusted to your bite. They take a bit more time to make than the soft one. Google it there's lots of info on splints and tmj problems online.

I've buggered up my neck/shoulder. Last 2 days has been a bit sore but today I can hardly turn it to the side. Managed to book a massage for tomorrow afternoon. Off to bed now zzz night all

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/02/2016 23:57

I listen to old episodes of Dr. Phil, or whatever documentary that sounds interesting! There's one called 'inside the living body' or 'inside the womb' or something, I've been meaning to link it here for ages but it's genuinely fascinating!

Sorry you're feeling rough feef Flowers teeth problems are the worst!

ni Im not sure whether I'll be sad or not, I can't decide yet! I'm probably going to aim to have our valentine's dinner in the 6th rather than the 13th (Dh will be in work evening of the 14th) but I'm decided ill have a couple of glasses of prosecco then! I think if I don't and get a bfn ill kic myself, and if I get a bfp then it was barely a blastocyst anyway so hopefully no harm done! Que sera sera as my grandma used to say!

Who's resting in the next few days?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/02/2016 23:58

Oh kat you poor thing! That sounds awful for you. Thank goodness you've managed to get in for a massage, hopefully that will ease it up and you'll be back to normal in no time. Flowers

I don't seem to be keeping up with the pace of these threads at all! 11dpo now and have just given in and used the first of my frer's. BFN obviously. How sensitive are they really? Does this mean I am probably out for this month? Are they lying about the whole 'it's fine to test ridiculously early' thing. I now have to resist the fancy tests and try to limit myself to the cheapies till I get to day 14 right? There's no chance of me developing the ability not to pee on any sticks at all. I feel it's important to be realistic!
