Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Jem you have the OPKs yes? Mine are about 3cm long by 3mm wide - normal sleeves accommodate or I just carry back in a scrumpled bit of loo roll. I was initially concerned that the loo roll would affect the reliability but I tested thoroughly when I was OVing and not. However, I am clearly not upduffed so by all means ignore me. Mine say that the time to test is between 11am and 8.30pm, so you could test as soon as you get home if you get home in that time frame? As long as you test each day at the same time it seems to be ok. Also, I tested in the evenings until I started to get a second line appearing, then tested several times a day until peak/positive, then went back to evenings until it disappeared completely. Sorry for essay.

Temp went down instead of up... No ovulation here yet! Still got ewcm though, despite negative opks. Who the heck knows. Will jump dh again tonight just in case. At least the sex will de-stress me!

So AF has got me! I was more upset in tears last night when I got a bfn then. Now the witch is here, I feel strangely positive. I am going to start taking evening primrose oil this cycle up until ovulation and I've also downloaded the baby-making bible on my kindle app. I figured that I'd like to move forward by doing what I can and make positive changes in order to increase my chances of conception

I'd have preferred to wait but I work as a lab analyst for a pharmaceutical company so deal with lots of chemicals etc.

He's the best boss ever and has made me feel so good about it all. Genuinely so happy for me which is lovely! Didn't ask about how long I'd be off or how long until I was due or anything think he was nervous I was handing my notice in so is slightly relieved

Hi all just checking in. I've been miserable with a horrible tummy bug - haven't kept anything down for 2 days and to add insult to injury AF arrived yesterday 2 days early! So I'm off the feb bus already! New test date is 4 March. Ovia clearly got it wrong - argh!

Update from mad cycle central. AF has not appeared. 3 days of spotting and now nothing. Thought I'd do an opk today to see and it's the darkest yet. Still not a positive but I reckon I could possibly still be pre ov in this cycle (cd69). Does that sound possible, given the spotting? Confuuuuused and eating chocolate to calm my brain. All thoughts welcomed!

It's weird though isn't it - seeing the blood feels sad for a minute then almost cathartic. Like a cleanse from your body and a new opportunity for the next month.

Elle I did an ic yday and got a bfn... I guess just need to keep opks going and hope for a clear positive as a clue to where I am.

Sorry for all those for whom af has reared her head. I've been thinking of it as a new start, and a good cleansing thing, readying the body for the next go! And it means I actually have a cycle.

I don't know really where I should be on the list kat - here is my conundrum. If I ovulated this weekend, which I'm fairly confident that I did. Then 14 dpo would still be a whole week before af is due around about the 21st. But it would also be right around valentine's day. So, do I test at 14/15 dpo and see if I get to tell Dh on valentine's day if I got a bfp, because 14/15 dpo would be around the time when normal people get to test. Or do I steadfastly hold off and hand myself a Starky's Star for waiting till af day? Normally I wouldn't even consider testing early, but we may have a meal together on the Monday, and I will want prosecco because prosecco ...any opinions gratefully received.

FXSkip thank you for all the info! Yes I have bought a box of 5 from Boots. They are in my cupboard at home. I’ve read the leaflet twice but not had a go yet – think I will now try one this evening. Usually get in from work at about 7ish, so by your info that sounds fine? Once you’ve got a positive does that mean egg is coming, or already in the vicinity? DH gets back from Chicago tomorrow morning, so there will be no DTD tonight either way. We did it Monday morning before he left just in case.

Stark - test on 14 DPO, definitely. I'm not saying it will guarantee the right result, but of anyone on here, you have been so incredibly patient the whole way through. If anyone deserves to test early, it's you.

And as you say, if a BFP isn't the Valentine's Day present, then some Prosecco would be an ok second (though I appreciate it can't really compare).

starky I think you should test 14dpo. Testing then is likely to be accurate.

snow don't think I've ovulated yet either. Still negative OPKs and not got ovulation pains yet. Found a tiny bit of EWCM today though! Hooray! I'm very happy as had none last cycle, and have been taking evening primrose and drinking stupid amounts of water.

I suppose it's just that there's a lot riding on this cycle, as Dh will ramp up his training and supplements in the next couple of weeks, so between work and training, he'll be much more unavailable. And he'll be exhausted. And despite him competing as a "natural" meaning no anabolic steroids, I'm concerned that the major diet and fat cutting and all the supplements will have an effect on his sperm quality. If I don't catch, he'd better blooming win this competition! 😬😆
