Seekingmiracles · 02/03/2016 07:07

Eurghh I've woken up feeling like absolute hell! I NEVER get colds and now my throat fees like I've swallowed razor blades, my head feels like it's been run over and I can hardly breathe through my nose! And to top it off I'm now worrying that's a bad sign Confused

billy15 · 02/03/2016 07:21

Oh no seeking sorry you feel shit! It's prob a good sign that your immune system is weakened due to the pregnancy. When do you see dr s? X

Seekingmiracles · 02/03/2016 07:32

Today at 12.40! So at least I don't have long to wait to know. One worry after another!

Hello all, I've not been in here for a bit, just tried to read through and catch up on all that's going on!

Hello to all the new ladies in here, so sorry for all you've been through, this thread is amazing though for support and general letting off steam. It sometimes feels like nobody out there gets it or talks about these things.

Congrats to Snoopy! And to Dttrc and Seeking! Hang in there - one day at a time and small milestones are the way forward. Good luck today Seeking! I had a bad cold early on in my pregnancy and freaked out but was fine, I put it down to my immune system not being what it was and the preds and intralipids working and found solace in that.

I'm still luckily a success story in the making after seeing Dr S and his treatment for high Nk cells. Am 33 weeks pg this week and finally starting to relax a bit but the pregnancy has been tough.
When off the steroids at 12-14wks I got crazy allergic rash, like skin was on fire.
Turns out I was probably allergic to progesterone (and steroids masked the symptoms as they are what would normally treat the rash - mad!) but at the point i was due to come off progesterone the nhs said I had to be on it as had possibly weak and short cervix (definitely worth being checked for this!).
The rash was unbearable without Antihistimines but couldn't be on those all the time so ended up having the cervical stitch which terrified me after all the miscarriages (even Dr S said it wasn't needed as had had a baby before) but I had it just before christmas and so glad I did.
Came off progesterone and skin improved - and felt the stitch gave me that extra strength to keep bubba in there!
Latest is that I've now got gestational diabetes - trying to control it with yet more drugs. They are going to induce me at 38 and half weeks probably (early April).

And hats what is going on with me - by the way I have progesterone and preds knocking around if anyone nedda them in an emergency, I can post!

Just wanted to let you all know of another positive outcome from Dr S treatment. Just got to get through the next 5 weeks! X

wow Lisachick1, this is quite an inspirational story- thanks for posting as we need all the thumbs up that we can get.
Sounds like a very troubled ride and I can totally empathize with you as to how stressful if must have been.... I am only recently on board with the investigations on NK/autoimmune conditions with Dr S and have only seen him once but already feel very nervous about the prospect of ttc again.
Hope the diabetes can be kept in check easily and without starving you!
The reaction to pg sounds totally crazy though! Have you had any other side effects from the steroids with weight gain/mood swings/insomnia etc? Although it sounds like they did you more good than bad!?!

home run galore, well done you

Seekingmiracles · 02/03/2016 13:28

Wow Lisa you've had rough ride! So glad that you're on the home straight now though! So lovely to hear more and more success stories Smile

Appointment went well. Baby measuring 6+1 hb 126bpm. DrS seemed happy Smile
Next scan is 18th with NHS and 19th with him

billy15 · 02/03/2016 14:06

very good news Seekingmiracles!
Are you combining Shehata and NHS for your scans then?
Did he say anything about your cold related to the drugs?

Tryingno1 · 02/03/2016 14:15

Yay congrats!!! :)

Drttc · 02/03/2016 14:32

Congrats Seeking :) ! Next stop- 8 weeks scan! Xxx

waitingimpatient · 02/03/2016 14:35

Congratulations seeking

Seekingmiracles · 02/03/2016 14:56

Yes Anna, I'm having both. Still seeing Dr S every 2 weeks but adding in NHS ones when I can. Thankfully I've got a very supportive EPU local to me!

LostInTheTriangle · 02/03/2016 15:11

Hi all. I've been reading through your thread in the hope that the experiences shared here might shed some light on my next move to ttc baby #2.

Congratulations to those who are pregnant and it's inspiring to read that things can work out after recurrent miscarriage.

My situation. I have a 2 year old conceived through IVF in April 2013. I have endometriosis which was why I unsuccessfully ttc for 2 years 3 months prior to IVF.

I think a combination of pregnancy, breastfeeding and diet has cleared the endo, because I have fallen pg twice, only to (missed) miscarry at 8w. I had the ERPC a week ago for a pregnancy dated 11w.

Things are very raw now. The surgeon told me I had just been unlucky and to try again after my next period. I'm unconvinced and wonder if we should use savings meant for house renovations on a consultation with Mr Shehata. Third option is a FET with a 4AB embryo from our 2013 IVF.

I'm so confused right now and am anxious about costings when obviously no guarantees re:any option.

What are people's thoughts about using the frostie, when I can conceive? Should I get pg again and take the NHS investigations if it goes wrong a 3rd time (shudder). Or, give up altogether and be happy with my lot?

I hope you don't mind me posting here for advice? It's pointless discussing with friends IRL as most have conceived naturally and had uncomplicated pregnancies.

Thanks in advance.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 02/03/2016 17:29

Yay seeking, another milestone down! Now you relax and look after yourself, get rid of that cold Smile

lisa so glad to hear you are still on the road to success, sorry it ha been such a traumatic journey. Do you mind if I ask, where you automatically tested for GD? I went through my notes yesterday and realised the midwives haven't even been signing them properly and there's a checklist that no one seems to have followed so I haven't got a whole load of pamphlets etc

lost I'm afraid I don't know much about IVF so I will defer to our resident expert trying, so sorry you find yourself here Flowers
