If it was me Billy, I'd probably call the clinic and try to shuffle the appointments, but that's because I'm uber impatient! If you think another cycle might help settle your cycle and though, wait.
Thanks ladies.... Scanxiety has well and truly kicked in. Confused

karryk · 26/02/2016 07:37

Hello :)

Thank you for such a warm welcome everyone! Feeling a bit more reassured!

Annie - my TSH level was 6.67. I'm still a bit bothered by the medication to be honest - it's day 4 of taking 50mg of levothyroxine and I'm sure I'm getting a funny feeling in my chest about an hour after taking it and again at night (seems to calm down during the day?)

Mr S said that he would rather start me on a higher dose so as to bring the tsh down rather than build up slowly and possibly waste time. I'm now wondering whether that was a good idea! Not doubting his medical credentials of course... ;)

annaif · 26/02/2016 09:57

Hi karryk,
Funnily enough, I was worried about the complete opposite thing to you! That my dose was too low and that I'd waste a couple of months before increasing it :)
I am also on 50mcg a day and my TSH was 5.4 in mid January so been on it for 5 weeks now. My prob is that fatigue hasn't really subsided and I was concerned I should be on more thyroxine... We got a second opinion by another endocrinologist recently (family doctor) who agreed that 50mcg is a good first dose with a view to repeat blood work within 8 weeks of first diagnosis.
Dr S wants me to repeat bloods within 32 days from first diagnosis so that's what I am doing- hoping that his may be "the solution"

Fingers crossed for all of us xxx

And good luck with the scan seeking! I like the term scanciety :)

Seekingmiracles · 26/02/2016 10:52

Morning ladies,
Just had my scan. Measuring a little bit behind where I thought but measured at 5+3 with a teeny little flicker of a heartbeat Smile
Grow baby, grow!! Next milestone DrS.

billy15 · 26/02/2016 10:56

Brilliant seeking!! Smile

Drttc · 26/02/2016 11:06

Yay!!!! Congrats Seeking!!! You are 100% carrying a little baby in there :) !!! As a scan addict, I can thoroughly appreciate that you've got another in a few days hehe. Looking forward to hearing about the next one too!

Seekingmiracles · 26/02/2016 11:15

So relieved that I'm not actually imagining! Scary how far I still have to go thoughConfused

Drttc · 26/02/2016 11:31

Seeking- it seems that during this crazy ride the best we can hope for is less and less anxiety/fear as it goes on. So happy for you :) You don't have a long wait until you see bean though! And in about 4 weeks you can use a home Doppler if you fancy? I check mine everyday...

Seekingmiracles · 26/02/2016 11:40

I don't think I'll be getting a Doppler- will scare the life out of myself if I can't find it!!!
Haha! X

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 26/02/2016 11:41

So happy for you seeking!!! Don't worry about measurements, the bean is still so teeny tiny it's hard to be accurate. When are you seeing dr s?

drttc sorry to hear your friends were so insensitive. They should support you in the same way you would have supported them. Resilience is a major factor it seems in this whole reproduction process, let's hope they don't learn that the hard way.

trying how are you? You should start a blog about the crazy world of ARGC, I always learn something new from your posts about them.

sunny so good to hear from you. Hope both you and baby are doing well. I cannot wait to leave work, the insomnia is soul crushing!

billy sorry I have no advice on hydroxy because I didn't take it. I did have a weird pred cycle that was two weeks longer than usual. I think taking pred the day of ovulation delayed it so the second time I took it 72 hours after the positive ovulation test.

Regarding the thyroxine, I can't remember when my GP retested to check the dose was working. I remember I did feel an initial alleviation of symptoms but I don't know if that psychosomatic or if I was just so relieved that doctors had stopped presuming I was anaemicbecause I'm pale ( always had excellent iron levels haha)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 26/02/2016 11:44

drttc do you find yours easy to use? I had a student midwife on Wednesday and she couldn't find the heartbeat because the jelly fish was behind the stupid anterior placenta. The experienced midwife found it quickly but after three seconds she moved away and she then had to chase her around with the Doppler!

Tryingno1 · 26/02/2016 11:45

Wonderful! Congrats seeking xxx

billy15 · 26/02/2016 12:01

Thanks snoopy

Does anyone know if dr s does intralipids just after ovulation? Or around that day??
Now I'd need my follicle tracking scan on a Monday and of course the clinic only do intralipids in Surrey and not on a Monday!! So I'd have to go to London on Monday for scan and review (day 11 of cycle) then Surrey on thurs (day 14) for intralipids (if I bother with that part). when I've done SO before I've usually done trigger on day 11. Why's this journey so Frigging complicated! So fed up right now!

Drttc · 26/02/2016 12:03

Seeking- I get it! We have different coping tactics... Can you believe I've had a dozen scans (some due to bleeds though)! Even I know that's crazy but hey... Kept me happyish!

Hey Snoopy! It was quite difficult when u first started using it and I had to remember that there's other stuff pumping/pulsing in there and not to confuse it. Always kept in mind how much faster the baby's heart beat is- basically, when you hear it YOU KNOW it. For the last few weeks I've found it quite easily which is probably due to both more practice and bsby getting bigger :)

Trying! How are you getting on?

How are you getting on Trying?

Drttc · 26/02/2016 12:11

Billy if it helps for this pregnancy I did my intralipids late at cycle day 18 (25 day cycle). I have a really aggressive immune system but seems to have worked out!

billy15 · 26/02/2016 12:35

Thanks drttc yes thT does help. Thanks. Was that at dr s clinic? I'm sure when I asked this before she said it has to be before ovulation. Typical these things always fall on a Friday!! I have to decide to SO or not by tomorrow!

billy15 · 26/02/2016 12:38

I've also just had another hormone test result (was the week before my other results, when my period hadn't started). My LH was 33.8!! Eeek! So now wondering if I've got PSOC and how this would change my treatment and SO? If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it.
Sorry everyone I'm having one of THOSE days!!! Sad

Tryingno1 · 26/02/2016 12:46

I'm ok drttc just very tired! In at 7am for bloods and or a scan every day. Not complaining though!! I'm feeling well looked after. Considering my Last cycle/the normal is one scan the whole process! Will find out next week if it's ivig or intralipids he wants me to have!

Seekingmiracles · 26/02/2016 14:17

Exactly Drttc - what ever gets us through. And if a dozen scans and your Doppler are what gets you through then so be it.

Trying sounds exhausting but glad you're feeling looked after.

Billy - hope it's not pcos. I'm sure that would have been picked up on though by now on scans?? Hope you get all your appointments sorted out, it's hard trying to juggle your cycle days with their opening times and weekends as well!!

Hula2 · 26/02/2016 20:05

Yay Seeking, great news and amazing you got to see a heartbeat so soon.

Billy - i feel your SO scheduling pain. I always seemed to have the critical days fall on a weekend. For me i always leaned to going earlier for a scan that later as once i missed ov by going on day 12. I found it all pretty stressful. Hope you can get it all sorted.

Af came as expected, on cd 5 and dh away mon to fri next wk so prob gonna miss the boat this month which is a bummer but trying not to stress about it as nothing i can do.

Well done Trying for 7am appts everyday, that is boot camp !

Waves the everyone else.

Hula sorry u miss out this cycle but try dtd before he goes! U never know they say sperm can last 7 days even!! I'm glad the hypo is working for u.
Seeking hope ur feeling pleased since ur scan!!! :)

So my tnf is the highest it's ever been :( I've spent 5 months waiting to cycle with Argc to tx my immunes and they have got worse!! and all that's happened is they have gone from 33 (just above normal) to now 44. I'm trying so hard to stay positive! So I'm now on clexane asprin steroid viagara(!) and will have ivig or intralipid on Monday but I hope it's ivig Coz I don't think il work for my stupud immune system!!!
I've been alcohol cafeine gluten free and lost 1.5 stone in weight. And all its done is make things worse!? For gawd sake what can I do?! I think the conclusion is nothing!

Seekingmiracles · 27/02/2016 18:43

I'm feeling slightly relieved Trying, thank you.

Sorry your tnf still hasn't come down Angry, must be so frustrating! I think I'd be pushing for IVIG too if I were you. Have you tried that yet? How often are you having it tested?? Still keeping everything crossed for you lovely xx

I'm off out for BIL's bday tonight... Got to try and pull off the whole not drinking thing without giving the game away. Hmm

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 27/02/2016 19:00

trying that is so annoying. What have ARGC said? Please don't give up hope. We all have faith you're going to get there. There was a lady here called sasha (I think) who had ivig at the lister but I haven't seen her for ages.

Hi hula, good to see you! I agree with seeking, give it a go, what's the worst that could happen?!

Ah seeking that was the benefit of not being a habitual drinker, but of course everyone noticed at the Christmas party because I usually go crazy haha
