Is the tempation to test before AF is due too strong???????????

Hello ladies!! I am the ClearBlueFairy, and I have been sent to watch over all you wonderful, gorgeous ladies!!
When you feel the urge to test before AF is due, count to ten and step away from the ClearBlue !! Have a warm cuppa and daydream about Sawyer from Lost (or someone you find attractive!) and take your mind off it!! Or why not come on to MN and I will sprinkle you with some common sense dust

A very wise woman once wrote - "Remember ladies that the percentages of those who get their BFPs on set dpo are as follows:
10dpo=35%/11dpo=51%/12dpo=62%/13dpo=68%/14dpo=74%/15dpo=80%/16dpo=88%/17dpo=92% and there are some who have not got their BFP until 21dpo!!"
Armed with those percentages you should never want to test early and risk all that (perhaps)unnecessary disappointment!

I can't stand to see all those understandably downtrodden women after that dreaded BFN... and some of those wonderful ladies will go on to get their BFP and needn't have put themselves through all that angst and worry!!

Come on now, it's the festive time... save your money... When the FirstResponseDevil is calling out your name... Just say NO!!!

Fingers crossed for lots of BFPs really soon for you all!!!! But remember, The ClearBlueFairy is always watching * * * * * * * * * * * *

I was got by a First Response yesterday. I shamefully spent my last £6 on a test which turned out to be negitive. DP doesn't know because I bought so many pregnancy test last time around that I promised I would be a good girl this time and be mature and poised and not test for a long time.

My tummy is hard and a bit sticky-outy, AF is a couple of days late, I REALLY want to be pregnant, so am I being daft to still be holding out home despire a FR test on the day my period ws due? I have no money to buy more tests - so I wish I had enough strength of character to wait!

My af is due on Christmas eve, I hope this is one present we both don't get this year!!!! Would make Christmas a little sad I will also be out of town on vacation and don't want af arriving to ruin my spirits with the relatives but it's really hard. I quit buying ept several months ago, so tired of seeing only one single line that I can't take it anymore, would rather just wait and see if she arrives, good luck and I hope it is a wonderful Christmas for us all!

I gave in aswell - tested 11th, AF due 12th but still not here. Got BFN, of course though.

Well my cheapy ebay testing sticks arrived yesterday. I did a test and a very, very faint positive showed. My period was about 4/5 days late, my tummy felt hard so I decided to another tst this morning with my first wee (meant to be stronger). These tests are v, v, sensitive so I was expecting a nice big positive line - I had made the fatal mistake of convincing myself I was pregnant. Well about an hour later AF arrived. Felt pretty sad and stupid actually. Still do.

If this ever happens again, I vow that from this day of my cycle, onwards I will never reach for testing strip of any brand until I am a MINIMUM of 2 weeks late.

Ds and i are ttc for number 3. I am 8 days late ( have a few preg type symptoms)and have spent a small fortune on tests (BFN)up to now but im now going to hold off untill im2 weeks over due!!!

Tigertum - So sorry about AF! Fingers crossed for next time. But promise you will not test until AF overdue!!

Merrylissiemas - Pleased to hear your tests were all clear! Fingers crossed!! No early testing now!!

Snowdiva and FestiveFettle - Congratulations on the BFPs!! But you didn't test early did you?!

Everyone else who is coming up to AF time, I will not accept "I need to know for works do etc if I am pg or not" because remember a BFN before AF is not necessarily a true BFN is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cracked yesterday and ordered some tests but will not use them til xmas eve. feeling v sick and boobs are all veiny and heavy. threw up a cup of coffee yest. so fingers crossed

My AF is two days late now and the test I did this morning was negative. I am shewing my own feet off with frustration, I keep trying to will myself pregnant

Try not to get too frustrated, although it must be really hard. Remember the stats on the original post!!! Hang in there!! But you have permission to test cos you are over due. Just don't panic if you get a BFN because it's not 100% accurate!!

Im 15 days late, last test was on Fri 15th, going to test Tues 19th which will make me 17 days late........argh, think it may have 2 be 2morro tho!

got another BFN at hospital, but 5 days late now. Had leg cramps (typical period ones) but they've stopped now....Its more than likely AF up the creek due to BFing

How old is your baby Quootie?? I'm so sorry that you are so down, I was so shocked to read the other post about your hospital visit. I hope you have lots of support. I don't know your history as I am relatively new to MN, but I do hope that everything works out for you. x

Wish I had read this before this morning...

Completed an Early Response test and got a BFN...

There was little chance of me being BFP anyway...but just cant resist those tests... Please send me strength and willpower to overcome these urges!!

I dont know if its too early for me to test!! I'm on day 37! but last one was a 45 dayer due to mc. arghhhhh.
we bd everyday (sometimes twice a day ) for about a week and half, so since day 27, which according to some calculater thingimyjiggy would have been my 'time'. aww who knows!
